That means that contributions won't go to waste. Yay! So, here is my next request for mp3 contributions. Again, we are not looking for songs that are on albums, but live recordings. If you have a favorite soundgarden bootleg stashed away somewhere, dust it off and share it with the group so we don't have to all pay $1000 for a decent collection of live shows. It'll give you a warm feeling in your heart. Contact me if you have any quality recordings that you think people in SOMMS need to hear. Things are starting to sound like a cracked record as far as the Sunshower argument is concerned. C'mon pilgrims, let's find something else to talk about! Oh, b.t.w, I got 'Alive In The Superunknown' the other day, that acoustic version of 'Like Suicide' is exellent. Call it craziness, but it's true. I find myself immediatly enjoying these songs where I had to listen a couple time to Tighter & Tighter before actually realizing how powerful it is. I personally can't wait for the new album to be released. Now if there is any A&M exec on the list, could ya send me an advance copy, like, er now? And one final note. You know how we've been wondering what/who Sunshower is directed at. We've deduced it to: 1. The fans 2. His wife, Susan Silver 3. His best friend, Andy Wood 4. The rest of Soundgarden Now, I think I speak for the whole list when I ask Chris himself to tell us what the hell its about. We know you're on the list, well, at least Matt is, and it's a given that you're on too. So be a dear and send an e-mail to Seth or someone and we can forward it here. BTW: I'm just joking. But a guy can dream, can't he? Dave ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 24 Jan 1998 13:23:16 PST From: Jill Loves Soundgarden way too much but hey im kewl Subject: sunshower (or as some people like to call it "Sunflower") Hellow, well Chris' lyrics have helped me through another tough time. One of my best friends tried to commit suicide the other day adn i was really upset and i listened to the song. It made me feel better, it was kinda of a reassurance that everything would be okay. "But it's alright When you're all in pain And you feel the rain come down Oh, it's alright When you find your way Then you see it disappear Oh, it's alright Though your garden's gray I know all your graces Someday will flower, ooh..." its probably what helped me the most. Its really great to have such amazing much to help. and Chris if your out there, Thank you Very Very Much. Where's the Love? Stop the Violence. I'm finally back from my long vacation in the Philippines and it's glad to smell the East Coast air once again. I had my friend save all of my freakin mail onto disks because I don't care too much for the digest version of SOMMS.. It was a lot of mail! I've noticed some of the convos you guys had.. overall, pretty rough, I think. The topics were, I guess, creative..it kept the flow goin, so.. anyway.. While overseas, I hoped to be able to find some really kickin Soundgarden merchandise.. In the end (and beginning), I wounded up turning empty handed, with the exception of a Soundgarden poster (I'm not sure whether to say "new" or not, but I surely haven't seen it before) and a tape of Superunknown. I have SU on cd, but the one I found on tape has She Likes Surprises at the end, so, since it would be cheap in dollars and it was different by something small, I thought I'd buy it. I decided to waste some pesos to buy A-Sides on tape when I already had it on cd. I came back home and realized I had 40 bucks.... So I went to the music store and went bonkers! I had to put back the G.E. Soundtrack because I was way over (it's so expensive) and just bought 2 SG singles and SL/F (and the new album of Creed). I was happy either way. The singles I bought were Pretty Noose & Fell On Black Days. I can add these to my My Wave and BUTOW singles :) While in Manila, I finally listened to all my X-Mas music that I got (not x- mas songs..) which were A-Sides, the BUTOW single, Sup Pop 200 (both the cd and box) and I think that's all (SG related). Oh yeah, I also bought Stone Free and got the chance to hear Hey Baby by M.A.C.C. which sounded great. Chris made it totally sound like Hendrix, imo, but anyways, it was real stellar, baby! Of course you all heard about the wonderful, righteous, and most "holy" chat with Matt right? I'm so glad I came back home in time to know about it! I was one of the lucky people that got the chance to not only get in the same room as him, but to be able to talk to him. I thought he only answered 6 of my questions but I read the transcript and counted 9.. I feel a little dumb because I missed one answer and asked him the question over again, but reworded it.. oh well, it still was a religious moment for me, so thanx Matt and Boom Theory for all your kewlness! Ok, guys.. I'm still a little too excited so I'll go jump in the freezer and I'll catcha later! - Maria It's ashame I can't live in Matt's basement! He won't let me!! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Jan 1998 13:08:29 +0000 From: Fiona Thiessen Subject: huh? "Michelle A. It may appear in their home video though.
