Matt, a drum roll please!!! The two winners of the Screaming Life books are: Kathie Opon Antonia And no it was not fixed. Just because a Chicago sommster and someone with my part of my name won doesn't mean I was bias in my name drawing. Congrats to the winners. Stay tuned for another give away in the New Year! Heard Spoonman on the way home in the car at 6am...damn it perks me up to hear Soundgarden on the radio!! toni ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 27 Dec 1997 17:49:06 +0200 From: Tamar Berkowitz Subject: From the sup I found in a used cd shop on the net a cd called "songs from the sup". Does anyone know what this is? P.S. Sorry for asking so many questions, but out here in the MiddleEast it's hard to get information. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 27 Dec 1997 09:53:01 -0800 From: "S. Kutz" Subject: sunshower single since i work at a cd store we generally have new unavailable music to play for the background noise. yesterday at work someone stuck in the Great Expectations soundtrack. it made me think so i asked my boss if he knew whether or not they were going to release "sunshower" as a single any time soon. he said no, but that if chris was gonna put out his solo album, he may release "sunshower" then. so there's not really any rock solid info in the post, but whatever. =P also, it's kind of interesting to note that we also sell used CDs. just for curiosity's sake i like to take a peek at the Soundgarden bin to check out what's been put in there. I guess soundgarden is just beyond cool because there's almost never any used CDs of theirs in the store! apparently everyone likes their music too much to sell them! yah yah just rambling.... sarah =) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 27 Dec 1997 19:45:10 EST From: Pam Underwood Subject: Re: Chris WAIT A MINUTE PEOPLE!!!!! You are talking like Chris is turning 70. The man is only 33 for God's sake. Yes of course they are all going to age as time goes on but so do we. I can't picture Chris stooping to go get a face lift or anything to stay young looking and I'm sure you guys aren't seeing that or implying that either. I doubt that Chris is really going to get bugged out about the fact that one day he won't look as Godly as people have seen him. If he was so self consious do you think he would have ever pulled out the buzzers and cut off his LONG hair. Chris isn't the mass media type man so I seriously doubt that this is all bothering him as much as some of us. Sorry if this sounds harsh. Thats not how its supposed to come out but I can't think of how else to explain myself. >>>>He was asked in an online chat once what he >thought when he looked at younger photos of him and all he said was >"I see a younger me."<<<<>>>> *~PAM~* > i've never really sat down and pondered that, but i think i'll end >up doing it now. i do think, god- he's 33 now... ) Chris, chris is >now letting his hair kind of grow back out. It's cool huh? But I thought it had been sitting in there since 1988 so you couldn't use the order form but apparently you can so I might give it a try. YAY!! Dave "You can't resist the louder pull." But what happens when the "year this was" doesn't merit a grand treatment? While rock guitar did not croak in 1997- despite of what some of our competitors have been telling you- there were times when it was a little under the weather. The death of Sublime's Bradley Nowell, the implosion of Soundgarden, the endless sucession of faceless, grungy one-hit wonders, and a general feeling of directionlessness made it a year many would like to forget." There it is: finally someone mentions our beloved SG. -Nick "If you were mine to give I might throw it away" -Ugly Truth ------------------------------ End of SOMMS Digest - 27 Dec 1997 to 28 Dec 1997 ************************************************
