Please! ;-) Its there.. just manually copy the cast/inter_ev.ra part onto the end of the url. I listened through it a couple of times and it was pretty cool but I missed any Soundgarden references. Oh well. Bill ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Dec 1997 07:15:40 -0600 From: tonerkin Subject: Screaming Fits Me, again Santa's helper. A couple of questions have come up. #1 Deadline to enter is December 24th. Santa will choose that evening. That is after he consults his naughty and nice lists. So if you have been naughty...well let's just say you might not bother looking in your stocking for that book. #2 You don't have to believe in the mythical figure of S. Claus or celebrate the Christmas holiday to enter. Hell, you can be a Satanist and still enter. BUTT than that would probably put you on Santa's naughty list so you're screwed! So you can be a 20 year old Buddhist in Laos and send in your name. OK! Thank you and get your entry in now for the FREE give away of Charles Petersen's book Screaming Life. There will be two names picked for the two copies I have. Keep those whiny e-mails coming they go so good with this nice Cheddar I have. toni ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 15 Dec 1997 10:52:42 -0800 From: Tino Subject: Re: my wave video! im glad to see that there is someone else out there from edmonton. tino ---------- > From: Daniel, I think > To: SOMMS@MITVMA.MIT.EDU > Subject: Re: my wave video! > Date: Saturday, December 13, 1997 2:34 PM > > The video was filmed in Edmonton and Calgary, definitely both. Someone told me that WWC was a psychedelic band, Hater was a clone of Soundgarden (w/out Cornell voice), and Desert Sessions is also psychedelic. Is this true? I have my own psychedelic band called "April Showers Kill May Flowers" and we were influenced by a band named Hovercraft. That band features Eddie Vedders wife in it. I just wanted to know what type of music these side bands were consisting of. This is what I need for info besides that.... Band members and instruments/Type of music/What cd's they have out and when released/Year formed/Played live?? And that's about it....bye Kris Hermansen "Listen, hear, he is inside....." ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Dec 1997 22:21:25 EST From: ThNrthFace Subject: Why the local news sucks, film at 11.... People of the Sun, Sweet jesus, did anyone else see the spot on "Seattle Grunge, is it dead?" on Seattle's favorite ABC affiliate KOMO this evening at 6? Apparently the Presidents broke up, and they asked the now very timely question, "Is Grunge Dead?" They of course showed Nirvana, and then showed our very own Soundgarden (yes all you Hootchies, they showed Chris singing w/o his shirt on) and said "...the same thing that happened to Soundgarden as Nirvana..." Um, nooooooo, way to check your facts newsboys... The last time anyone checked, no one in SG was dead...they were all very alive and well. It really makes you think, when the best they could do to fill up some time is "Is Seattle Grunge Dead?" Who knows, maybe tomorrow they will realize that The Presidents opened for Soundgarden at their last two shows here in town, and that they must have cought the very sinister "Hey, we're in a famous band, let's break up" disease from them... One can only wonder, Aaron (just half of his hellraising self tonite) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Dec 1997 22:42:01 -0600 From: Kathie and David Subject: Jingle All the Way Hi all, Just got my SG Christmas card yesterday and I couldn't wait to get my check of in the mail for a bunch of stuff (GREAT prices!) I absolutely love the picture on the inside. It's not often you see a picture of all the guys smiling. Maybe its just because I'm the mother of boys, but something about this picture really gets to me (maybe its because I miss them so terribly- Soundgarden that is). I like the little bit of Sunshower I've heard - haven't heard the whole song yet (don't listen to the radio much). I can't wait to hear Chris' solo album - and has anyone heard more about the alleged tour? We definitely must have a hootchie hotline for that one, huh girls? Oh, I'm so ditzy lately I can't recall if anyone ever explained to the person who seemed to be offended by our use of "hootchie" that we don't consider it a nasty term here? Kathie "Proud to be a Hootchie" ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 18 Dec 1997 00:44:08 EST From: RedThinker Subject: pusa break up... The Presidents of the United States of America have broken up, who cares? Well, here is a little itty bitty bit of Soundgarden content in there: In a statement released by the group's label, Columbia Records, guitarist Dave Dederer says, "The band wants to thank everyone who supported us over the last four years," while drummer Jason Finn adds jokingly, "We broke up for the same reason Soundgarden did... Chris left the band." ha ha, what the hell does that mean anyway? ~rita ------------------------------ End of SOMMS Digest - 17 Dec 1997 to 18 Dec 1997 ************************************************
