Sound files and cover art as usual, as well as a scan of that beautiful blue vinyl. And if you care about good current Seattle music, click on Previous Review while you're there. I put a couple of new SG pics up too. http://www.citynet.net/personal/sightsound/reviews/reviews.html Jen ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 16 Dec 1997 11:10:24 -0500 From: NIKI FREER Subject: merry christmas from SG hey sommsters. i've been pretty quiet lately, but i just wanted to come on and say how cute i think the x-mas card is this year. last year's little caricature thing was amusing, but this year's is nice and classic. my mom actually started to open it because she thought it was for herself. = ) the photo inside is a nice one (how strange looking ben's signature is...) and the order form...whew! i am almost amazed at the great prices for the merchandise. that long sleeved BMF shirt listed, i bought that at the show i went to last year for about $35. = ) ah well, at least i get to own the JCP shirt after kicking myself for a year for not buying it at the show... and ten times cheaper at that. desert sessions: (yes, jen, got yr tape!) it's cool from what i've listened to so far. i can't tell where one song ends and another begins (i'm not all that far into the tape... maybe i'm still on song one...to those who have it, i stopped right after the guy does his little sidewalk corner preaching) but i like it. it's neat, nice flowing sound that kinda sucks you in. definately driving music. = ) and if i don't write again (which probably won't happen...) i wish everyone a big giant happy holidays and great new years. mind riot ____ and if i'm condemned let me rest on my pillow dream of those moments so few and if i'm blessed i'll be chasing your shadow there i go, nowhere... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ S O U N D G A R D E N 1 9 8 4 - 1 9 9 7 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 16 Dec 1997 17:32:21 -0500 From: jenny grover Subject: feeling you up If everybody bitching about how there's nothing new and good to listen to would buy the new Truly cd, Feeling You Up, the world might be a more cheerful place. I got mine today and it's wonderful. I think it would appeal to a wide range of tastes, and the production is superb. Hiro plays some kick-ass bass and he's more up front in the mix on this one. Dreamy, ethereal, happy, Beatle-ish....this album can fool you into thinking it's summertime. In the spirit of the season(and to all you non-Christians and or non-believers in Christmas please bear with me) It is GIVE AWAY time again. In my holiday shopping I came across a real good deal on the Charles Peterson book, Screaming Life( a book of early pictures of the Seattle Scene) See Louder than Love cover for an example of Mr. Peterson's work. Anyway, I have two copies to give away. So rules are the same. Send me a note and your name will be put in the pot. Nothing to buy, no coupons to fill out, no visa numbers to give! IT'S FREE! Everyone can enter(yes, that means you Aussies and Outer Mongolians) I think we'll have Santa pick the two names when he stops by Christmas Eve. So get your e-mail in today to: tonerkin@pipeline.com (not to the list) Cross your mistletoes and good luck. toni ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 16 Dec 1997 19:21:08 EST From: Mojopin25 Subject: 1998 Soundgarden Calenders & Motorvision Hi!!! I know I probably shouldn't send this out before checking but I'm sure I can get some Soundgarden Calenders for those who want them. I just bought mine yesterday...and let me tell you...it's awesome!!!! I paid $11.99 for it and I'm sure I purchased the last one. If anyone's interested, I'll try my best to help you all out. Just let me know privately and I'll start my search for the calenders. All I can do is try!!! Also, I thought I read someone not being able to find Motorvision...I have it and am willing to dub it....since it is hard to find. Just let me know. I now have info and pics of Mind Circus, another old Ben band up on my page. So, if you want to see some funny pics of 16 year old Ben in shorts and gym socks playing a pointy guitar... http://www.citynet.net/personal/sightsound/moc/moc.html And the pic from the Ramones cd booklet is up on the SG pics page now.
