All I have to say is that this is an outrage against all humanity. These attrocities against Kim must end. Fight the power! I had a dream! Do you people realize that Big Dumb Sex is just a blatant mockery of bands like Guns & Roses? (Ironically, G&R didn't get it..they covered it..I guess it wasn't that blatant after all). It amazes me how many people don't get it.... Personally, I'd like to see Matt join the Afghan Whigs.. they're looking for a drummer and have had bad luck with them in the past. 4 albums and (soon to be) 3 drummers. Kinda sounds like Pearl Jam, eh? Their styles would fit. Not to mention the fact that THE AFGHAN WHIGS RULE. But then again, Matt's not Italian or in the Mafia (I think), so I guess he can't join them... Goodnight, I'm off to listen to G&R. -- -js mailto:jordans@ucsd.edu http://sdcc10.ucsd.edu/~jasnodgr/fm/ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 8 Dec 1997 21:49:24 +0000 From: Fiona Thiessen Subject: Simon Cronk ... again Simon could you please e-mail me ASAP. I also heard there was sposed to be a box set of special editions of all their albums plus a video and book. Never got around to posting any earlier for some reason, so here we go... Which SG song do you think does the best job of enhancing the Christmas spirit? I know this question is odd, but I'm bored (plus, it's a lame attempt at a new thread). Here's is the explanation for my question: About a year ago, a newbie came onto this list and responded to the sarcastic question: Who's Hiro?. This sarcastic question was posed by one of SG's most diehard fans (possibly Shroomy) and the newbie responded with all sort of history on Soundgarden, not knowing who he was dealing with. A huge flame war proceeded and the list took a few days to recover. A bit complicated, but that's the story behind that. Because incase some of you forgot, if ya play it backwards Chris says, "I love you santa baby". So break out the eggnog and christmas turkey everyone - and listen to 665 backwards. See ya Dave :-) Ben Jones wrote:> > Which SG song do you think does the best job of enhancing the Christmas > spirit? Hey Mike, what have you got against Kurt? Ever stopped to think that there may be Kurt and Nirvana fans on this list? To make this SG related, I went to the Much site a few days ago, and I thought only Canadians could participate in the voting process. Please clarify. Kim has supposedly put down his guitar recently to do some work for us real fans. He already compiled a listing of songs for "A-sides" (I don't know why "NTS" was on it and not "HD"!) and has talked about releasing an all b-sides compilation. Maybe Kim is out there listening to us at SOMMS and is looking for ideas. Well, here's my idea. The first thing that would be released is a video with all their unedited music videos on it (Flower/ Loud Love/ Hands All Over/ Get On The Snake(?)/Jesus Christ Pose/ Outshined/ Rusty Cage(?)/ Room....(?)/ Spoonman/ Black Hole Sun/ Superunknown(CD+ version)/ Fell On Black Days/ My Wave/ The Day I Tried To Live/ Kickstand/ Pretty Noose <2 versions>/ Burden In My Hand/ Blow Up The Outside World/ Ty Cobb(?)) ----THE VIDS WITH A (?) ARE THE ONES THAT I EITHER HAVEN'T SEEN OR DON'T EXIST---- Also on the video (if there was room), would be a few live songs that were either rarely played live or only played live once. That video would be released two weeks before the date of the b-sides collection. (P.S. I wouldn't mind if the video was double and not single so that more stuff could be on it <#1=music vids/#2=live performances>) It would go for about $30-35 american dollars if it were doubled or $15-20 if it were a single video. The cd collection would have to be a quadruple release!! The cd's would just contain b-sides off of singles and ep tracks, along with comp. and soundtrack takes ***Here are ALL the versions and every official release that could be compiled*** (Incessant Mace / Heretic / Tears To Forget / All Your Lies / Sub Pop Rock City/ Toy Box/ Big Dumb Sex / Fresh Deadly Roses/ Heretic/ Come Together/ Ugly Truth / Big Dumb Sex / I Awake / Big Bottom / Into The Void / Girl U Want/ Stray Cat Blues/ She's A Politician/ Slaves & Bulldozers / HIV Baby/ Rusty Cage / Show Me/ Touch Me/ Big Bottom+Earache My eye / Outshined / Cold Bitch/ I Can't Give You Anything/ I Don't Care About You/ Can You See Me/ Homicidal Suicidal/ Fell On Black Days
