Absolutely cool. I know this was aired on MTV in Australia and probably Europe. I would lov a copy of it (audio or video) and would make it well worth while for anyone who could make me a copy. I live in australia, so it would have to be in the Australian and European PAL format. Please somebody help me out. The letter below is what I sent to KOTS after seeing how the "Death to the Pixies" - a Pixies Greatest Hits album - has been dealt with. -- [ From: Soundgarden * EMC.Ver #2.5.02 ] -- Unfortunately, no. It will only be on CD (unless things change at the last minute). Soundgarden is hoping to put out a more complete compilation of their b-sides, live songs, covers, and other rarities in the near future. We are hoping that we will be able to package that release in a way that will appeal to many collectors. The two words that I can best describe for the Chris Cornell/Eleven version of "Ave Maria." The rich, lush sound emanating from my speakers brought me a calm and nearly hypnotic state of mind. At last . . . some new Cornell material. If you don't have it, GO BUY IT NOW! I know alot of people may be dissapointed because it's such a take off of what we are used to from Chris Cornell of Soundgarden, but just because it's different doesn't mean its bad. This track did make me realize though, more than ever, that what i am used to from chris of soundgarden is going to be so totally different from what chris solo is gonna do. and yeah, sure it may be sad to think that soundgarden won't be revisted on any of his solo work, but it sure is exciting to not know what is going to come out of him next, who knows what else chris has brewing in his bag of tricks??? i can't wait. ~rita ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 11 Oct 1997 16:10:57 +1300 From: TessNZ Subject: Re: arena rockers: Sam Perkins and Chris Cornell in new RS.. Seeing this picture had forced me to once again come to grips with the fact that Soundgarden are indeed broken up...and have been for just over 6 months now. However good Chris looks in the picture, most of the things that to me characterized him as a member of Soundgarden are gone: those cloth strips/leather straps he wore around his wrists have been removed, the many necklaces and pendants he wore on long strings have been replaced with one, short, almost choker-like necklace, from what I can see he's not wearing any rings, the black jeans and dark colours have turned into blue jeans and a white shirt, and you can't see whether he's still wearing his infamous boots or not. All this, along with Ben's new buzzcut, IMO, signal that the boys are doing exactly what Kathie suggested they wanted to do...putting this whole SG thing behind them and moving on with their lives.
