Sorry it took me so long to respond, I've been having e-mail problems...........and I know you all don't care. Anyway, I got that article from the Addicted To Noise website. I odn't have the exact URL, but I'm sure you'll be able to find it with a little searching. But I love the way that the solo was played on an acoustic. Incredible. If haven't already, check it out. See ya Dave :-) <> ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 4 Oct 1997 23:18:06 -0400 From: B L Subject: Chris's grrrls About Chris looking for an all-girl backup band... I *really* think we can trust his ability to pick the least flaky ones of the bunch. I seriously doubt he would pick anyone like those girls from Veruca Salt or one of those other bands (I'm drawing a blank here, sorry.) I can see him going for the nose ring-laden, combat boot wearing and partially colored hair-type chicks. The punks, in other words, the ones who actually put thought into their music and don't sound like 15 year olds. Okay, here is my vision of the perfect, but pretty unrealistic backup band for Chris: Lori Barbero - drums (Babes inToyland - great voice as well as great drummer) Donita Sparks - lead guitar (L7) Elizabeth Davis - bass (7 Year Bitch) I'm guessing Chris would be on rhythm guitar. Actually, what I'd really like to see, is a band composed of local girls, maybe in struggling punk bands or something, or just lone musicians. I mean, after all, Ben wasn't a "rock celebrity" when they brought him into the band, and he wasn't very well known by many other people than the ones who lived around him, and he turned out to be an *excellent* addition. I'd like to see what else Seattle can produce. Who knows? I'm also looking for *any* information about one of Ben's early bands, March of Crimes. For exaple, if they have any material out that's still somewhat circulating, what that material would be, how much of it is there, how the band was formed, how easily I could get a copy of any material out, etc. Any help on this would be *very* appreciated. Incredible. That was what I was most impressed with. I was totally out of my mind. Seasons was good, but that song is incredible. Now I have to figure out how to store the audio locally.... And some of the remixes were cool too, like the Dusty remix. Excellent vocals. Bill PS - International sommsters stay in the list. The ground rules were a little hasty and I think they had unintentional consequences. ------------------------------ End of SOMMS Digest - 4 Oct 1997 to 5 Oct 1997 **********************************************
