This is easier to notice on some songs than the other, but it is the same on all of them. It is most noticable on No Attention and NTMF. Go to the start of No Attention. If you listen to it from the end of Tighter and Tighter, you will hear a snare, then a tom tom, then a snare before the guitar comes in. Then just go to the start of the song (without coming from Tighter and Tighter). You will only hear one snare drum hit. The first snare and the tom tom hits are cut off. Same thing on NTMF. If you come from Applebite, you will hear 3 notes from the bass before Ben changes to the next fret. If you go from the actual start of the song, you will hear just one note. It is the same on all of the songs, but much more difficult to notice. Has anyone else noticed this? Mike PS how come no ones posting??????? ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 3 Sep 1997 08:58:35 -0500 From: Pyxis Subject: Boo-boo Oops--I wrote that I had Superuninterview, when in actuality I have Into the Upside. It's got 9 tracks, which are songs off DOTU with comments from the band on each, and Natasha and Alain trying to maintain calm. Sorry about that. If you're still interested, reply privately. I am still just amazed at the news of Chris doing a version of Ava Maria!! Not that I don't think he can pull it off....the man does have a beautiful voice when he wants to. It's just the the tradition and inspiration of such a song. I heard it for years when I was being held captive in Catholic grade school as I'm sure Chris did! And the idea of CC singing it just blows me away. I usually buy the Special Christmas CD anyway because I enjoy hearing the Christmas songs done by a more unusual group of people than Bing Crosby and Elvis. Chris being on it will make me want it the day it comes out!!! What next???? Kim doing a version of "All I want for Christmas is two cans of beer" or Ben doing, "I'm gettin nothin for Christmas cause I ain't been nothin but bad" Or Matt's version of "The Little Drummer boy" Gee, this could be interesting!! toni ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 3 Sep 1997 13:51:59 -0400 From: Jenna Freemon Subject: Re: DOTU quirk In a message dated 97-09-03 05:12:54 EDT, you write: << Has anyone ever noticed on DOTU how all the first ~0.3 seconds of each song is in the track before? Everytime I look at a JCPenny sign I think of Jesus Christ Pose cause it has the same initials. JCP. I know this is stupid but i'd thought id say it cause it interested me. Ok this is really stupid!! sorry i guess im just a weird freak. Oh well Jenna :o) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 3 Sep 1997 16:11:30 -0400 From: Anna Mehrer Subject: Plates Howdy doody, This kind of ties in with Jenna's JCP and the obsession posts, but I was = wondering what those of you have on your license plates, if they relate = to SG, that is. I've been seeing some license plates lately that remind me of some of the = acronyms. Anyone with personalized SG plates? The video for "Black Hole Sun" received the 1995 Music Videos Silver Clio Award, not to mention the 1995 Music Week 1st Place Award (whatever that is). I did not know this. Maybe you did and just weren't telling me. -seth ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 3 Sep 1997 16:44:22 -0500 From: Pyxis Subject: Posters Okay all you poster children, lissen up! No this letter ain't what you think, i am not a day early for kim's bday. yesterday was my bday, so that's for the title, i'm now the big one seven, pretty ain't it. well i'm not gonna bore you with the ugliness of my bday, that started out with howard stern and FOPP! and then ended with me gettin drunk at an awesome country bar (i don't dig country too much, but getting drunk in a country bar is too much of a hoot!) and involved lots of depression. well nobody gave me anything cuz they all figured that i had every soundgarden memorablia imaginable, but i don't they just don't look hard enuf, and besides i have other intersets. anyway, moving along to the subject at hand. my momz flipped out becuz her "special package" wasn't going to arrive until the next day (today). well, it arrived, and it was a record player, that's great cuz i'm listenin to the jesus christ posed etched vinyl dealie, the sound on the record player sux really sux. but it's all good we're sendin it back. okay, that's not the coolest thing here goes, (this is for all of you fortunate enuf that didn't decide this was a stupid post, even though it's not that cool) along with that package was a Chris Cornell snowglobe!!!!! i wish it had been of the whole band, but it's all good. she sent away for this snowglobe making kit, and then snuck into my room while i wasn't home, and went into that lovely sacred soundgarden plastic box of mine and stole two pics of chris and put them in. usually i would have a problem with this, but it was too good of an idea to get mad about. at first i was happy cuz that's just plain cool, then i was like what about the rest of the band, and she could have used better pictures for it (ain't it great to complain about a creative gift from the heart). but i just realized while writin this post that the pictures work. it's the pic of chris from rolling stone 94 with the words unknown written underneath it, and one of the pics from saturday night live at the offcial soundgarden site. it's too cool, i guess you can imagine what it's like to shake my man up and then watch the pretty plastic flakes fall around his hair. oh i just noticed that most of ben is in the other picture, so i'm just chillin. well i just wanted to share my happiness with y'all and thanx for readin my post. much luv to ya all! wow am i in a good mood. (yes, I do remember all of them quite vividly, and remember thinking, "why the hell couldn't I have gotten those plates? they probably don't even know who Soundgarden is..), others that could work would be BTW (beyond the wheel), and, well, basically any other three word SG song title...anyway, yet another odd post.
