I did request it on the local radio station (surprised I actually got though), but the DJ never played, so I figure either he just didn't want to play it, or didn't know which CD it was from...either way, that's the way radio stations work, they have their playlists, which usually don't include SG (or at least in St. Louis they don't). Yet more proof that the radio stations in St. Louis suck... Yeah, yeah...another feeble attempt at a >thread :-) If you're feeble, I'm truly sad :-) My Soundgarden records are on the top shelf of my cd storage and blend on one side into TOTD and hater, then associated albums like MLB, Pearl Jam, which in turn lead into Brad/ Satchel/Pigeonhed.. The other side I have the soundtrack/compilation albums Sg are featured on, then Inflatable Soule (even more Cornells!), then Screaming Trees and AIC b/c Chris guests on some of their albums. If there's no Soundgarden link the Cds get relegated to the lower shelves. Now if I get the new Prodigy album, where will that fit in? ;-) BTW Matt's drums were sampled - he didn't go in and drum for them. Did everyone here at SOMMS make it through the fourth with all hair and body parts intact?! I did. You'll never ever ever guess what happened to me today while waiting for it to get dark!! Well, we went over to a friends house, where they were throwing an all-american like neighborhood party.. damn bunch of pyro's they are! Anyway, I was playin FoBD on my guitar, bored out of my mind, and this guy came over and wed were chatting about guitars & guitar stores.. blah blah blah. He sees my Soundgarden shirt and says to me "Hey, my wife went to school with one of them... oh.. who was it.." and he calls over his wife. She happily realted to me about her Junior High friend's boyfriend's best friend.. some guy named Chris.. as she points him out on my shirt. I freaked!! So she went in her house to find her 8th grade yearbook.. with no luck! She's sending me some color copys of all Chris's appearencees in it though. All she had to say about him is that he looked exactly the lame only with a little chubby face and long hair... that that he was a little punk, and she called him a little shit too. Too bad a promised her that when I meet him I wont tell him she called him a little punk. =( oh well. If that wasn't enough, she pointed out Kim with an "Oh.. I remember him!! He used to always go through my line at the Greenwood Safeway.. always buying beer. Nice guy, but he always nodded when he talked." She did this really funny impression of him. .something like "I..uh.. I'm just buying some.... some beer before we go.. before we go jam.." I thoguth that was cool, but now I know what Chris's last name was before he changed it to Cornell, after his mom and dad got devorced!! He used to be Chris Boyle!!! Nasty, eh? Oh- He went to Thompson Jr. High, and Ingram High... for a year. Well, add that to your list of udeless knowlegde, SOMMSters!!! I'm still looking for all your opinions on that Calssified ad.. Anyone ever make >use of there tv's captioning option or do I have to much time on my >hands? >> No idea who originally said the stuff about the "don't turn" instead of "showing not tying", but I think its no so much it isn't right, its just that the video FOBD and the album FOBD are not the same, they are two different recordings. I think it is on the FOBD single (which I got a week ago, along with the limited edition green vinyl FOBD single) that it has the video version included, and while I don't have the time to check it out right now, it may just be the Chris changed the lyrics a bit for the video recording. Another thing about the FOBD on green vinyl...who else has it? If you have it, I'd like to know your thoughts on the #3 track early demo version of FOBD on it. Personally, I like it, especially because it sounds so much more like earlier soundgarden. Chris' voice sounds a bit better I think when he's at least screaming on most of the song, or at least a good portion of it. Granted, I'm not saying this is the case for all SG tunes, just some, including FOBD (especially when he says "I fell on black days", "how could I know that this would be my fate") Scott (apparently not the only one...)
