HAPPY 4TH OF JULY! Well suprisingly enough...a lot of magazines, just now are starting to pay tribute to SG. You guys should check out Circus Magazine, it's got a 7-page Retrospective with pics and stuff. It's on display until July 17, and better yet has Foo Fighters on the front cover. Another magazine is Guitar, from July. It has Stevie Ray on the cover. It's basically a riff-filled tribute and article. It's really nice. ATTENTION: Pearl Jam fans please email me, I'd like to include you in on something! Thanks! Peace Love Empathy Rachel SOUNGARDEN R.I.P. You're obsessed when you struggle to interpret the meanings to the words of your favorite SG song, The Day I Tried to Live, so you can make up movements to a modern dance that show the meanings. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 4 Jul 1997 17:30:35 +1000 From: wyn Subject: You know your obbsessed with SG when... Your know your obbsessed with Soundgarden when.... - you are looking at a pic you downloaded for the web and decide that you must work out where the picture was taken, so you use your knowledge of plant taxonomy to work out exactly what the plant is and where it is from that appears in the picture with the band. It turns out to be 'Melaleuca leucadendron' which is Australian thus the photo was taken in Australia. Although the fact that be is holding a Mount Franklin water bottle and is wearing a Mambo shirt may have been an easier way to work out where the photo was taken than plant taxonomy or even that it was from Febuary 1994 Kerrang when they where touring Australia. You could be obbsessed or be stupid one of the two. - you have a dream that Chris Cornell gives you his ear plugs as a souvenir after a concert. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 4 Jul 1997 18:18:15 PDT From: The Koggle Subject: SG at the baseball.. haha ...no they weren't there, don't get excited.. eheh but at the Yankees/Bluejays game in Toronto yesterday, they played nearly ALL of Burden in my hand while the pitchers were changing.. it was a pleasant surprise to me :) just lettin you all know.. it IS SG related.. _______________________________________________________ Get Private Web-Based Email Free http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 4 Jul 1997 22:13:44 -0400 From: Mike Smith Subject: lost in the garden..... 1. IT'S CHRIS CORNELL OVER THERE! LOOK!" and you go over only to find out it's kim thayil (doh!) and have him sign your "Loser" book, which he signs with a message to your boss from where you work. ???? - you sit and stare at the damn cover of SU for at least an hour and only end up *thinking* you see kim somewhere, but swear that you know they're all there anyway cause "a sommster told me so..." but it looks more to you like it's one of those "magic eye" things... which you never could see in the first place. - you go into a store and pick up and look at a used BMF copy and realize that the CD inside it is the wrong issue for the single pack. you explain to the guy behind the counter that the CD inside there is originally from the BMF/SOMMS issuing and he stares at you like yr an alien and you try really really hard... but he just doesn't get it and it makes you mad. so that's my new story. = P enjoy the holiday! mind riot ____ i thought it was the 4th of july... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SOUNDGARDEN 1984-1997 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 5 Jul 1997 11:07:58 +0800 From: Georgia Kennedy Subject: 4th of July.. Haven't posted for a LONG while. I don't have a stereo in my car, so I often sing to myself whilst I'm driving. Especially when winter has determined that 6.45 pm is full dark, I'm on my way home from work, and I've had a long day. SO, yesterday (Friday) I did as I usually do, and it's just occurred to me now that the song I sang over and over on the 30 km dark drive home yesterday was - 4th of July.
