Also I think it would be cool if they put live versions of songs on it, like a live version of 4th of July or something. I'd also like if they maybe put a new version of Gun out, just because in my opinion Kim could have done so much more with the solo. I think they did 1 or 2 other dates...but i'm not sure. If I remember correctly, the article is about the Big Day Out tour, and the reporter is talking to Kim in the lobby of the hotel. The thing that made me laugh was when the guy writing the article talked about a conversation between Kim and Billy Corigan, and how Kim almost made Corigan cry. Just kinda wanted to read that again, remember it being really funny. The B-Side, Beyond the Wheel (Live), says in its liner notes that it was recorded at Sturgis, South Dakota in August 93. This comes out of the German BHS import single (part 2). They played for the 50th anniversary of the Sturgis Motercycle rally. ************************************************************************* *********************** Mayor McCheese ********************************** ************************************************************************* ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 22 Jun 1997 17:01:03 -0400 From: "Steven Russell Jr." Subject: Re: 1993 tour At 03:15 PM 06/22/97 -0500, you wrote: > >> 93-08-18 Toronto, Ontario, Canada C.N.E. This comes out of the >German BHS import single (part 2). They played for the 50th anniversary >of the Sturgis Motercycle rally. i have no idea where any cities are located in South Dakota...but if Sturgis is close to Rapid City...it's possible they could of played there... Neil Young did play Rapid City on August 11 at the Civic Auditorium. There was an article in Rolling Stone back in 1993 that gave the abbreviated tour dates...and i can't find it. i have the German BHS single you are talking..and it does say Sturgis....it doesn't say South Dakota..just Sturgis BUT it's wrong. Not only was i at the Toronto concert (as were a couple other listers)...but i have a copy of the show. The taped show contains a version of "Beyond the Wheel" that is **note for note** the exact same song as the b-side. Unless they taped the Sturgis? show and were lip synching to a crowd of 70,000...the linear notes are not correct. Maybe, just maybe, I should believe the 1994 tour poster that lists the 6/14/94 date as Rochester, MI. I was in Rochester...i thought i was in Rochester, New York...but maybe i was wrong. steve - wondering if the jury should be sequestered - digging the argyles out of the closest.... ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 22 Jun 1997 17:50:47 EDT From: seth Subject: Temple Of The Dog website I am proud to announce the launch of the much-delayed Temple Of The Dog website, a combined effort by myself and Caryn Rose, with assistance from our own Geoff Kleemola, and Chris Mansfield and Jean Bruns of Five Horizons. http://ten.shocking.com/totd/ Hope you enjoy it. -seth ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 22 Jun 1997 19:31:55 -0700 From: McMahon Potvin Subject: Re: Vid Versions and speaking of ALIVE IN THE SUPER.. aaaaahhhhh...... i'd just go crazy if that happened to me... you should try going to one of those Internet Coffee shops and see if they would let you play your cd-rom... my friends own such a place, and they charge really cheap to people who come in just to check out a cd-rom... trust me, it's worth going through all that trouble!!! later, eh? I like that mental patient type guy walking on the ceiling and trying to hang himself with the telephone cord, but can't because he can't get off the ceiling. I also liked the way the band acts in the video. Chris acts really crazy and starts smashing his guitar. I like all of the fire in the video and when Chris lights a cigarette with the fire. Didn't he do a Jesus Christ Post in the video??? :) You'd think that Ben would really go crazy, but I don't think he did that much. I remember one point in the video where he seems real quiet and subdued. I think he was sitting down with his bass. I like that part too. Runner up for my fave video is Burden In My Hand. I like the desert setting and the guys just walking through the desert and joining each other. Doesn't it seem like there are some type of mission?? The way they're walking? Is it just me?? :) Second runner up is a tie between Flower and Outshined. I have only seen the Flower video on my computer, but I love it. It's not cheesy and let's face it, Hands All Over and Loud Love were a bit cheesy. :) Especially Loud Love. Hands All Over isn't too bad but the cheese is present. It seems like what's portrayed in the video for Flower is just perfect for the song. The graveyard scene blended in with the live performance. I like the Canadian version of Outshined better than the U.S. version. Too many details to list. I just like it better. :) I'm undecided on how the rest of the SG's videos rank from here on out so I guess I'm done. :) May Soundgarden be with you. Well, I've rambled enough... Larry ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 22 Jun 1997 23:03:07 -0500 From: Richard E Horner Subject: My Page Hey people check out my new page. The video is cool because you get to see the artist's meaning of the lyrics. The only thing I don't like about videos is when the whole video is of the band. You should only see the band long enough to check out their equipment. Nothing pisses me off more than a guitarist that hides his guitar. OK except maybe waking up dead. As for my favourite video? I love BIMH but thats been said so I'll go for My Wave because that blue guy makes me laugh and the kids biking away from the cars as fast as they can is pretty funny too.
