I was idly perusing the sleeve of 'Fuck Me, I'm Rich' just now when I
noticed that, in the photo of Mudhoney playing live, there's someone in the
audience who looks a lot like Ben.  Same jaw, same floppy fringe over the
eyes. Anyone else noticed/can confirm?

i did an english research project on THE LANGUAGE OF SOUNDGARDEN which
was the best project in the form (that's new zealand lingo for grade)
it even got sent to the mediator in Wellington
just goes to show that Soundgarden is a vital part of the education
system.

        'I want you' is a beatles song niki, the last song on side one of
_abbey road_ if I remember correctly. soundgarden's rendition of the song
is a little misleading, however, since they only play a relatively small
part of the whole tune. I think the melodic part they cover is devoid of
lyrics, so you don't get a feel for the entire song. but the rest of the
song is unimportant imho, since the part they do play is by far one of the
most sublime pieces of guitar melody I have ever heard. I could easily
listen to soundgarden play this for hours on end and not get bored. it is
simply that beautiful.

        hope that helps. and thanks for the christi lyrics; you beat me to
the transcription by about one week ;)

yesterday i bought up big at the HMV in downtown toronto.. eleven cds in
total.. hahah
[well they're like half the price compared to Australia..]
anyway i picked up a little pretty noose set and a blow up the outside
world set..

it's a cardboard folder containing part 2 of the 2 cd set and a poster
of the guys (a pic from DOTU)
CD 1 of the pretty noose set has pretty noose and jerry garcia's finger
CD2 has pretty noose, applebite, an unkind, and an interview with
Eleven's Alain and Natasha

i already have a copy of the blow up the outside world single, so i
didn't buy it, but i should have, cos the one in the set is the one i
already have.. (another bright moment for me!)
it has  BUTOW, gun, get on the snake (both live '90), and a splice of
spacejam.. and i didn't even look at the 1st cd.. excuse me while i slap
my forehead..

the posters are pretty cool.. i would get the sets if you see them, cos
they weren't expensive at all.. (compared to aussie prices, nothing is!)

but there's this nagging thought that someone is making money from
this.. that is if they were made after IT..

Great, now I have to find a CD-ROM for AitS to see the pic! :p
I've just been enjoying it for the songs for, um... yeah, since I got
it. ^_^

I was going to say something about the vids on it, but I'll make it
another topic:
does anyone have a VHS compilation of all the videos? Unedited
preferably. Y'know, if A&M was smart, they'd do this instead of a
"greatest hits" or whatnot. But I still don't have Motorvision or Louder
Than Live, anyway. ^_^

they added to the english vocabulary?

Soungarden have made a total of 16 music vid's: Flower, Hands all Over,
Loud Love, Jesus Christ Pose, Outshined, Outshined [Canadian ver], Rusty
Cage, Spoonman, Black Hole Sun, My Wave, The Day I Tried To Live, Fell
on Black Days, Pretty Noose, Pretty Noose [press kit ver], Burden In My
Hand, Blow up The Outside World
[^it has to get airplay to count as an mvid otherwise it's a short film]

Also Chris , Kim and Matt are in the "Hunger Strike" vid
[which contains the only genuine tears in an mvid i've seen, but you can
pass your own judgement on that]

and Ben and Matt are in the Hater vid "Who Do I Kill"

if you include Spoonman as an appearance, the Members of Soundgarden
have appeared in the following numbers of mvids:
Hiro - 1
Jason - 2
Ben - 14
Kim - 17
Chris - 17
Matt - 18

uh, Chris get's way more air time though

also i suggest you get a copy of Shihad's "It's a go" vid, it's a pseudo
rip-off of the BIMH vid, [someone must of told them they looked like
Soundgarden from a distance or something]

I don't think Kim was in the video. I've only seen it a few times,
but I don't remember him in it. Why would he be, he's not even in
TotD. Tears? Huh? Who was crying?

i think i probably should have said "only real emotion in a mvid",
closer to the truth, depends if you think "real men don't cry" though,
the opening shot [or is it the 2nd or 3rd shot, i forget] when Chris is
under the table,i've seen this vid a few dozen times and it's definatly
less fake than that Skunk Anansie vid with the tear that roll's down the
cheek, im betting no one out there agrees with me on this one
[frustating!] but sit down and watch the Hunger strike vid ,watch it
closely next time you have a chance

around feb this year and have only played it 3 or 4 times, request it,
it does exist, the image's that stick with me from it were that they

figure], there was also a floating/sinking/swimming gun at one point
that appeared in the top right corner of the screen

P.S also i got a copy of SOMMS off a friend [who got it off a friend] a
few month's back , how the hell it got to NZ i have no idea , werid
