BMF: holy water, face pollution (these two almost make the album's front and back sides complete) SU: fresh tendrils, limo wreck (words need not be said) DOTU: an unkind, zero chance (no one cares about these songs, and they're both perfect!) B-sides: blind dogs(my personal almost fav), again Toy Box, nowhere but you (my fav), dusty remix covers: big bottom ( i know a lot of you guys hate this, but i think it's done so great even if it is a stupid song), helter skelter (beautiful isn't the word) okay, i'm done now. = ) mind riot ____ i think it's turning back around and i think i like it... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SOUNDGARDEN 1984-1997 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 14 Jun 1997 15:24:16 -0400 From: Lance Huber Subject: Re: MSNBC What the hell is MSNBC? Marc ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 14 Jun 1997 17:29:50 -0700 From: McMahon Potvin Subject: yet another cool soundgarden moment here goes... see, i got this disease... everytime i hear a soundgarden song or any other song with a cool riff, i kinda start "air guitarin"... same thing with drums... last week, i decided to buy this scrapy second-hand (more like fourth hand) accoustic guitar... the fun part is, I'M NOT A MUSICIAN, i can't read tablatures, etc.....i really suck and i don't know shit about playin a guitar... so why did i buy it? so i can play air-guitar with a real guitar... so here's what i do: I pop some soundgarden (say, spoonman) in my cd player, plug in the headphones, turn the volume up so i can't hear ANYTHING but the songs on the cd, and then i pick up the guitar and try to play along... now here's the cool part.... yesterday, i told my friend to actually RECORD what i was playin while i was listenin to spoonman... He just pissed right in his pants....IT S-U-C-K-E-D!!.... we both laughed really hard when we listened to the tape afterwards.... then, beers followed and we had a really cool time listen to some grunge favs.... well, it definitly showed me how talented these guys are... enough, eh? Marc ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 14 Jun 1997 20:28:16 -0400 From: Sean Greene Subject: Switch Opens and Boot Camp for a while now, i've been wondering what they say in boot camp. well, today, i heard the voice in the beginning say something about income taxes...i know it sounds weird, but thats what i heard. and in switch opens, at the very beginning of the song, it sounds like matt is saying "perfect". i never heard it before but i hear it now. oh well, just though i'd share. sean ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 14 Jun 1997 21:01:16 -0700 From: eliza Subject: and the rain is falling and i believe my time has come... yes, JB :-( just watched the tribute on MSNBC...i can't imagine feeling more sad and shitty right now. anyway, they had comments from Chris...i think three times they showed him, and he commented on how JB was so talented that he could have done anything, how JB sang the most beautiful songs in the world but they also could make you uncomfortable, how CC felt like he was in a movie when he got the news...it was good to see him talk again - he looked so much happier and more relaxed...slicked back hair, still too thin, but he looked like there was a peace about him that i haven't seen in years... they had comments from a few other people close to JB and showed the Grace video...what the hell else could happen this year eliza ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 14 Jun 1997 20:47:58 -0500 From: Richard E Horner Subject: Re: Switch Opens and Boot Camp Yeah, right as somebody(Kim I guess) slides his hands up the frets of his guitar Matt says "thats perfect". OK here is my best interpretation of the background noise at the beginning of Bootcamp. Now, for those of you that wish to try this and have an EQ turn the bass all the wasy down and it helps to keep the volume low because the human brain is attuned to pick up the speaking and with the lower volume it stands out more. Don't forget, ALL THE TALKING IS IN THE LEFT CHANNEL! Everytime I type "something" that means I don't know what it says at all, ? ? means thats my best guess. Remember I'm real unsure. They're gonna increase "something" and decrease ?access? "something....." We gotta ?go back? need I remind you of that centerpiece, ?you look at taxpayers? ?they're gonna be? "something" credit if they're not in next which means if a lot of people ?sit out? next year "something" anyless than the year after that inflations gonna be ?likewise? get smaller ?last chance? "something" meaning to you "something....." if you think its bad, why do you placate me "something" people "something" when information leaks out "something....." At the 1:00 mark he gets real quite and that sentence is completely lost to me. As you can see I'm really unsure and have lots of blank spots. Kim just keeps playin that guitar too loud! If you are going to try this too, don't be looking at what I wrote when you do it. I'm wrong and I know it. If you look at mine while listening to it though, the power of suggestion will make you think I'm right because you expect to hear something. And sometimes you actually, in your mind, hear what you expect to. Rich ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 14 Jun 1997 23:00:59 -0400 From: Laura Koeth Subject: Soundgarden Friends.... I was just reading other people's responses to this topic and it brought up how my friends feel about Soundgarden. At first they all liked the song, "Black Hole Sun," and after weeks of telling them this band is awesome, I made a tape for them of all of my favorite soundgarden songs (Like Suicide, Loud Love, Seasons and of course Jesus Christ Pose and more). They, of course, did not like it and it made me kind of disappointed that no one else in this stinkin town appreciates Soundgarden and their kick ass music. Lately I have been hearing some pretty crappy stuff on the radio and wonder what music is coming to. It is kinda scary when Bush is number one on the rock music charts. Whatever happened to the intensity and the pure feeling in a song? I think soundgarden tried to accomplish this and succeeded. But why is it that so many people ( besides the list) dont appreciate soundgarden? I RARELY hear them on the radio anymore. Oh well, back to convincing people that it is so worth the money to buy badmotorfinger instead of Tragic Kingdom......:) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 15 Jun 1997 13:30:03 +1000 From: dean rizzoli Subject: HELLO EVERYONE HI, My name is Dean and I am a university student at CQU Rockhampton Queensland Australia.
