No, but have you heard the song Donuts on the Garden of Souls boot? Who on the Sub Pop label actually originally sang tha song? Anyone? I am just a little curious about it. Really a very stupid song, but amusing in the same respect. I was reading something the other day and it was saying how Lollapalooza was going to be SO different this year. More alternative and weirder bands than last years "Mega-Metal" line-up. Okay, my question is why do they say that SG is so metal this time around and when they played the '92 Lollapalooza (which I wasn't able to go to) :( they were considered so alternative? I was just curious because they played songs from BMF at both '92 and '96. Please comment. Also, they other day my brother was singing along to BIMH and instead of singing, "Follow me into the desert as desperate as you are..." he sang "dust-pretty as you are..." I thought this was sort of weird so I kept listening to that part over and over again and it does sort of sound like it. I know the word is "desperate" so please no one send me the lyrics. Well, I've babbled enough!!! Take care and be sweet!!! Stay Cool, Kelly (C: ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 4 Jun 1997 11:51:54 -0700 From: Dave Subject: Re: Questions and Frustrations... Heh. Also during my wave, where he say's keep it off my wave, it sometimes sounds like he's saying "keep it off my wife". Then there is the obvious mix up of, "She lived like her mother" during Like Suicide. Chris ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 4 Jun 1997 23:56:41 -0400 From: Julia Rosselli Subject: Re: Questions and Frustrations... Lollapalooza '96 was considered a metalfest, I think, because it was such a "male dominated" event . Bands on the bill were comprised primarily male members -- and they expected the attendees to be male by a large majority (but that was not the case at all). Metallica was also a big reason for the metal label -- I mean they were the main headliners. Soundgarden has always been on both sides of the metal/hardrock fence. Remember -- they've toured with pretty heavy bands before ( Guns n' Roses, Faith No More, Skid Row, Metallica, Corrosion of Conformity, etc.). It's understandable for that label to be stamped on Sg, especially by those who have not experience their full and diverse musical range. At first I thought it was "Degrassi's always greener where the dogs are shitting". A friend of mine thought CC was singing "Thanx for the show" instead of "Face Pollution". -- Chris Mackenzie ------------------------------ End of SOMMS Digest - 4 Jun 1997 to 5 Jun 1997 **********************************************
