But Soundgarden only played 3 songs I believe. The show they do is really good. If you like Pearl jam I would buy it. The only problem is that all it had was this adress. LISTSERV@UBVM.cc.buffalo.edu its a listserv program so you need some kind of subscribe command which wasn't given. If any of you are members maybe you could mail me the sign on command? Rich ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 1 Jun 1997 16:44:51 -0400 From: cornell Subject: Into the Void... Re: SG & Black Sabbath's Into the Void being the same. Yeah, they're both the same, but if you got the Black Sabbath tab off of OLGA, it's wrong as anything. In a guitar magazine, they had an Interview with Tony Iommi, and it had a couple riffs tabbed out, including the begining of into the Void. The OLGA tab was way off, so here's to hoping that it got updated. I went into toombul music on saturday, only to find myself aimlessly flipping through all the soundgarden cds. one of the cases was clear, with a piece of cardboard proclaiming "soundgarden collectible - $195". so being the inquisitive person that I am, I went up to the counter and asked for more information. the girl behind the counter lead me to a glass case on the wall at the back of the store, in which sat what I believed to be _badwoodenfinger_. I'm thinking "yeah, I just got a new job, I can buy that sucker!", but when she took it down from the case and opened it, I was confused. inside sat a regulation copy of the _superunknown_ disc (euro./aust. version) and the requisite _superunknown_ liner. it didn't compute at first, but upon reflection I imagine that someone has taken the limited edition bmf cd and replaced it with the superunknown one. whether it was the shop itself or the guy they bought it from, I don't know. but it stinks either way, especially when I saw the fluorescent light shine off the little '85 of 1000' plaque. so don't get any ideas about early christmas presents, because this one's a phony. maybe if I'm out there again I'll tell someone at the store that it's a dupe, but it will probably be gone by then. a shame, really. ----------------------------------------------- in your real life, treat it like it's special in your real life, try to be more kind in your real life, think of those that love you in this real life, try to be less blind words by vernon reid ---------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 1 Jun 1997 19:45:15 +0100 From: Greg Fox Subject: SG spotlight on MM For all you canadians ( and those few lucky Americans), don't forget that tomorrow and the day after ( Monday and Tuesday), Much Music is holding a spotlight on Soundgarden. To the person who posted to somms about the bootleg "PJ and a little SG" : I did mail you privately saying that I would re-listen to it to tell you the quality (sorry I've lost your addy). The PJ songs are recorded from Copenhagen, Denmark ('92). This show was broadcast on the radio and is probably how this show got to be on a bootleg. The sound is pretty good. Eddie sings the song Suggestion (by Fugazi) which is excellent to hear. eddie also sings a little from Outshined - "I'm looking California...and feeling Minnesota" As forthe SG songs they are Loud love, All your lies and Big dumb sex. All are excellent quality. I have not tried to find out where this was recorded from, the bootleg just says '90. At the start Chris says "We're SG and I'm sorry you're so far away", then before launching into Loud love says "this is some kind of love song" :) All up the cd goes for just over 75mins. I would be more than happy to make you a copy of this bootleg, and anyone for that matter. If you can wait a couple of weeks for exams to end, I will do it if it will mean that you will not buy this bootleg....yes folks I'm an anti-bootlegger campaigner ;) Fiona ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Jun 1997 00:14:29 -0500 From: Richard E Horner Subject: Jerry Was Jerry Garcia's Finger included on the International release of Superunknown? If it does, whats on it? Also, I saw a picture at sgi of an album cover labeled "Room A Thousand Years Wide, H.I.V. Baby" that had a SUB POP label but with Ben in the picture. When was this released? I thought Soundgarden had severed all ties with SUB POP before Ben's days. Even before Jason Everman's days.
