It's part of an article that interviews Moby. They're talking about the Soundgarden and Smashing Pumpkins remixes that he did. "...A lot of times when I do remixes, rather than get the artist to pay me, I work on a barter system," Moby explained. "Right now my debtors, people who owe me, are Soundgarden and the Smashing Pumpkins, I did remixes for them and they didn't pay me anything for them. We did it with the understanding that they were supposed to do a remix for me, but unfortunately....No word on all this yet from Corgan's camp, but of course, Moby shouldn't hold his breath for a remix from Soundgarden since the band recently broke up." Kim: When I walk into my philosophy of guitar amp class my sophomore year of college.... I find profesor Thayil. We discuss the effects the amp and screeching guitars has on the left and right sides of the brain, and so on..... I really can see Kim teaching. For some reason, I think everyone would listen. =) Matt: Oooooh weeee!!!!!! In a couple of years, I can go out to buy a poster of Matt's delectable body.... (matt are you reading?? heheheh... ;-) in his cute lil' Calvin's. That's right. Calvin's decided to ditch Antonio, and Marky, and all those skinny models.... and instead of RHCP's Anthony, they want our darling Matthew!! Mmmmm... I can see it now. ;-)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ben: Other than his highlander stint... Ben decides to write bone crushing, heart palpitating, soul stimulating poetry.... and in a few years.... becomes the country's poet laureate. This is not directly SG related, and I apologize profusely. But I know many SG fans also like Jeff Buckley. This is from the Jeff Buckley web site (http://www.goodnet.com/~gkelemen/jeffhome.html): "Updated on May 30, 1997=20 The rumors regarding Jeff's disappearance have unfortunately been confirmed. Late last evening, Jeff and a companion were reported to have been hanging out on the shore of the Mississippi River in Memphis, Tennessee. Jeff was in Memphis doing pre-production work for his second full-length album for Columbia Records.=20 According to police reports, Jeff went into the Mississippi fully-clothed and singing. His friend warned of possible danger and returned to the shore. A boat passed in the area, creating waves. Afterwards, the friend was unable to locate Jeff. After ten minutes of searching, the police were called. Efforts were made last night to find Jeff, and those efforts continued today. The Memphis police are still searching, but Jeff is presumed to be dead.=20 For those in the New York area, a vigil will be held outside the storefront of 122 St. Mark's Place in New York City at 10PM tonight; this is the former location of Sin-=E9, the coffeehouse at which Jeff first regularly performed at in NYC.=20 There aren't words to describe what Jeff's music has meant to many of us. Along with many of his fans, I'm deeply saddened, upset, and devastated by this news.=20 If you wish, please send any thoughts, ideas, etc. to gkelemen@goodnet.com for inclusion in a tribute which will be put up on this website."
