The 2 guitar players from the band 311 are each standing on one leg with the other leg in the air. I got 3 copies myself. I was wondering if someone could explain the situation with "Swallow My Pride". You see, on the sub pop 200 cd I have, the fastbacks are doing it but it is credetid as mark arm, and someone who'ds name I can't remember. Then on screaming life/fopp, soundgarden do it, and there dosn't seem to be any credit to mark arm, but there is a little astrix(*) next to it, but when you match it to the astrix in the creits, it dosn't have mark arm's name. Then on this Pearl Jam boot I just got from a freind in america, Mark Arm is singing it with pearl jam playing it. So my question is, did mark arm and someone else write it? My opinion is that he did, but then why is it on screaming life/fopp? It would be really appreciated if someone could tell me the answer to this wlittle queary of mine. Thanks alot, Nicky ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 May 1997 13:06:57 -0400 From: Christopher Ball Subject: Where is my head where is my damn head what was i thinking ive had alot on my mind lately. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOWN ON THE UPSIDE Sweetdaddy ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 May 1997 13:32:13 EDT From: seth Subject: FOBD Alternate Mix I received another Fell On Black Days single yesterday - one that was not listed in the discog. It's a US promo digipak that includes the LP version of FOBD as well as "Fell On Black Days - Alternate Mix," bringing the number of different released versions of the song to 4 (LP, video, demo, alternate). My question is this: does anyone else have this item, and if so, can you tell me whether or not the alternate mix, which was recorded at Bad Animals in October 1994, is the same as the video version minus the jam intro? Without the intro, the video version is almost exactly the same length (4:47 or so). Both begin with 4 hi-hat hits and end with Chris holding the note in the same way (which is not the same as the LP version). The trouble is that I don't have the same listening ability that Justin has, so while I could probably convince myself that the two versions of the song are indeed the same, I'd like to be sure. seth ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 May 1997 15:07:00 EDT From: seth Subject: Oops It was just pointed out to me that there are *5* released versions of FOBD, not 4 - LP, demo, video, alternate mix, and live. Sorry about that. seth ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 May 1997 20:13:01 -0400 From: Jentje Subject: Unreleased songs? I went to the official site for some odd reason today (boredom? lack of prozac?). They had a list of all the songs Soundgarden ever did. There are two of them that are mentionned that I've never heard of before, one is "Ocean Fronts", the other is "Cleaning My Gun" . Are these songs on any bootlegs?? I know they were not released but I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything else about those songs. Toodles!!! ~>Jenn "As you lay With your eyes softly shut I know it ain't me That you're dreaming of... I'll be cleaning my gun When heaven or hell Takes this life, I'll be done........" I got the Ty Cobb single today. Rhinosaur is one of my favorites from DOTU, but I don't think the remix is terrific. It's not really much of a remix. It sounds more like you're listening to the regular album version but you've hooked your stereo up completely wrong. I also picked up Grunge Lite at a used cd shop today. It's got elevator music versions of Smells Like Teen Spirit, Even Flow (PJ), Them Bones (AIC), Hunger Strike, and Rusty Cage. I wouldn't recommend it though, unless you can get it cheap like I did. It took me a few minutes to recognize most of the songs. There aren't any vocals, just synthesizer sounding music. Those songs just aren't the same without guitars and screaming vocals. ****************************************************** You did one thing wrong, you woke up You looked better before... ..Don't look at me I'm ugly in the morning - M.
