It somehow was resurrected in the mail server and redistributed. Sorry for the inconvenience. seth ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 May 1997 01:36:07 -0000 From: kimberly mcclure Subject: just wondering I just read a Soundgarden BBS and I was wondering why so many people must have as their user name a member of the band. I wouldn't mind so much if these people would not make it their goal in life to insult everyone at the BBS. I know we all love SG, and there are some great user names taken from SG songs, but to post as *Chris Cornell* and then criticize the fans for the split, well that is very immature. If that person wants to feel like some one special then i suggest he/she find their own personality first. Sorry, sommsters, didn't mean to get on my soapbox, I return you now to the regular scheduled program. *grin* Thanx for listen, Kim (Not Thayil) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 May 1997 09:03:41 -0700 From: Andrea Pinto Subject: Hater review/rocket Yeah, they seemed more "comfortable" at the OK Hotel, but I thought the article had a mean slant because they shouldn't have brought up soundgarden in the review. Hater is totally different. The article had this text in a big pull quote: "Do you expect us to clap just because two of you sold 10,000,000 records in your last band?" It was a cheap shot. meanies. >review of the first post-breakup show. (i can't say they're down on sg because there is no sg.) it's almost as though they're pissed that they didn't get an 'exclusive' or some such bullshit (because, again, there was nothing to tell) so they're going to snub them, with this review (and the offending pull-quote that andrea mentioned) more evidence of same. --caryn ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 May 1997 09:57:22 -0700 From: Andrea Pinto Subject: Re: Hater review/rocket It seems to me that the rocket is dissing Hater because Ben & Matt came from a popular band. Like it's not cool to support a band that achieved fame. The underdog attitude. This is the first review of Hater i remember reading in the rocket. But I was surprised by the article, because in the past, i didn't think that the rocket sank to using that kind of journalism. >> and i realize that only a handful of people here can really answer this >> question, but is it me, or does it seem that seattle 'alternative' media >> (e.g., the stranger and the rocket) is really down on anyone who may have >> been in soundgarden? Is there any news on a realease date for the new Hater album & will the band still be called "Hater" on a label? Just wondering. Jeez! Im back from vacation. I didnt win nothin in vegas! Anyways, I know this is a late respose to probably an old subject, I personally LOVED Superunknown! I just way, way, WAY over played it...so for now Im listening to BMF until I overplay it. I still love all Soundgarden, regardless. Cuz they are the BAND, MAN! It was very refreshing to hear a metal radio station in utah that played soundgarden and some pretty intense thrash metal as well. sigh. Montana radio really sucks. Oh well. Glad to be back. I missed you all and my email bigtime. Its not a clear scream either its sorta like a thorty scream of agony, kind like the screaming he does in tears to forget, did anyone else notice this?
