From: everglade@juno.com (Robyn E Nachtsheim)

Just heard the lineup for the WHFStival (Washington, DC) which includes
the Prodigy among 19 others. They ususally have surprise guests and
un-announced performers, so I am hoping maybe since Prodigy will be
there, maybe Matt will be on drums???? I hope! Maybe even a
Soundgarden Swan Song? Understand- I have no verifiable basis for this
suspicion, as of yet; and I know it's probably unlikely- I just wanted
to throw it out to everyone for comment. And maybe- just maybe- they
will surprise us.

Remember that Seth said you'd notice something new in a SG song if you
listened to it on another stereo, headset etc.? Well, I just bought a
surroundset...
Let me just tell you, you haven't heard Spoonman until you've heard it in
surround; Ben's bass coming from behind and Matt's drumming completely
surrounding you, WOW!
This made me wonder if any SG songs were mixed for surround, does
anybody know?

If anyone saw the contest on the Muchmusic site for what they like
better: facial hair (Chris Cornell) or clean shaven (Gavin Rossadale),
Chris lost. No clue why, but it was 657, to 2157. Thought I would just
let you know. Although, I don't know how 2157 people could vote for
 Gavin

I'm kinda in an emotional rut. I just bombed my Chem. test and when I say
bombed I mean BOMBED!!!! So I popped in some SG and it got me on my feet
again. A little goes a long way baby!!!! Not to mention I have a picture of
Chris hanging in my car!!! It always brings a smile to my face and chills
over my body :) !!! Anyway, I've aquired some new posters: one is of the
guys standing in front of somewhere that reminds me of Las Vegas because of
all the lights and man do the men look fine. I think it's because they
inhanced the color or whatever they do but their eyes just seem to stand out
at you. Yummy!!! and the other one is of the guys with Hiro and they are all
laughing and happy, which made me sad and deppressed. Oh well. The other
day I sat down to watch some concerts of SG that someone was so kind to send
me and I couldn't becasue it made me sad. See, I'm really emotional and
NO!!!, it's not that time of the month or anything!!! I guess it was becasue
my Mom's b-day just past and she would have been 47. Time does something to
you!!! Oh, I was listening to Toy Box and when Chris says "Buired in dirt
her torso lays..." I pictured the ending of BIMH. You know where the girl
is just half buried ing the sand. Not that it means anyhting but I just
thought it was weird. Does anyone else ever picture parts of other SG videos
to songs? Well, thanks for listening to be babble!! Ya'll are the best!!
 Take care and be sweet!!!

I can't believe how many aussies are posting (wooo hooo!!).

Anyway, sorry but.... whoever posted saying that PJ and Nirvana
have programmed rage...are you sure??? I know they have played the
Unpluggeds (sic!) of both these bands numerously, and after these they
usually have on all the clips by that particular band and I have
never seen the aforementioned bands programme.

Also to whoever posted about having a SG J-files...they did do it -
when SG came out for the BDO :)

Anyone who wants a SG special on Rage....write to them saying so!!!
Replies I have got in the past attribute a lack of specials to the
fact that they are a small team. Maybe all us sommsters could
volunteer our services to them ;)
Also they have told me that they cannot play MTV unplugged specials
anymore b/c of the amount of money it costs to buy them from MTV and
ABC cutbacks :(

**Please** people...vote for JCP to be played on Recovery for all us
Aussies that cannot afford to or do not wish to get MTV!!
The URL escapes me, but surely you know it by now!

Its amazing the depth of the music. Like on my headphones on most
songs....Kim' s guitar is mostly right side, Ben's bass is like mid left &
top, Matt is far left, Chris's vocals are low & mid center and his guitar is
like mid right, and then they fill in the holes between with all sorts of
extra vocals, guitars, and other sounds....
Its pretty intricate and detailed, and very cool.

Hi there. I joined this list recently, just after the "event," as they
say. I discovered Soundgarden with the release of "Singles," and then shied
away from the hype and mania surrounding Superunknown until I heard from
enough "real" people (i.e., those who didn't run and buy Hootie and the
Blowfish immediately after buying Superunknown) that the record was worth it.
Now, that cd, as well as Badmotorfinger and their latest, are staples in my
list of music to introduce to others. I lucked into one of the last copies of
DOTU in vinyl at my local Tower... the day after they broke up. That day, I
went home, popped in "Just Like Suicide," and sat in the dark with a beer.
Then, I ran around the room screaming "Ty Cobb," putting the fear of God into
my neighbors.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had the boot "Blow up the Outside,"
which is from the last tour. I would love a copy of it, and have lots of U2,
Pearl Jam, and some other stuff to trade. If you have a copy, and would help
me out, please E-mail me privately.

                                                           BDC

I love to listen to Badmotorfinger in surround. Switch your reciever to
Dolby Surround and then switch off your front speakers and the center
channel and just listen through the rear speakers. On Rusty Cage, you
will hear Chris scream and the begining of the lyrics and then no singing.
It's almost like a a Rusty Cage instrumental.

You can't believe the elements of a song that can be picked out by
manipulating the levels of your surround processor. You can isolate
vocals and instruments thus creating your own little remix.

That surroundsound thing is pretty cool. I ought to listen to
Soundgarden that way sometime. It'll be the closest I'll ever get to being
at one of their concerts. :)
Try listening to "Lightning Crashes" by Live on Surroundsound. It's
really cool. The guitar moves back and forth through the speakers. I
listened to it on my big "recording engineer" headphones and I swear the
guitar sound tickled me. :)

As for that Gavin Rossdale win over Chris in the razor contest, it
should be obvious why Gavin won. Little teeny-bopper Gavin Rossdale fans
probably voted a whole ton of times in a row for him, by tapping "back" on
their browsers, then voting again. Soundgarden fans are too mature to do
that. (Okay, well, I admit to voting twenty times for "Room A Thousand
Years Wide" on the official site, but I really like that song! :)

Later,

Michael Apple

You know how when you listen to certain music, all your problems go away and
everything is perfect for awhile? Is it like that for anyone else? Are there
any SG songs that touch you so deeply they make you cry? There used to be
alot of songs that did that.. even Ty Cobb. Don't ask. I was having problems.
:) Guess what I did? After my ceremony, I went to Specs. I walked to the
back to see if there was any new SG posters, and what did I see? No posters,
but... SG T-shirts, and... a SG hat! Aaw.... The hat was kinda tan, with a
red bill and red lettering that says Soundgarden across the front.. kinda
ugly, but still. One shirt was white, with Small red letters spelling
Soundgarden, and a black and white group pic on the back. Another shirt was
black, with a small silhouette of the band in even blacker stitching, and
something about the Pretty Noose LP on the back... the one I got was black
with the cover of DOTU on the front, and DOWN ON THE UPSIDE on the back. Has
anyone else seen these same shirsts before? Oh, who CARES...My very first SG
T-shirt. I'm so proud. :) I have never seen anything so beautiful... One
thing, though.. they didn't have Ultramega OK or Louder Than Love anymore.
They DID have the Fell on Black days single, though, which I want to get...
It only has Fell on Black days and the demo version, right? Oh, and,
does anyone know where I can find "She's a politician"? I saw this thing at
Specs... it was a 2-part CD thing.. it had interviews, posters, and I THINK
it might have had She's A Politician on there, and some other songs.. has
anyone else seen this?

You know how, at the end, when Chris is screaming Black hole sun, black hole
sun, in the background? Well, when you listen to it through my headphones, it
switches speakers in the middle of those words, so it feels like the words
are traveling right through your head. You can really FEEL them going
