Hi all,

In a recent list, I told that I've seen Soundgarden and spoke to them the
9th of november 96 and I read in the list of april 15th, a message from
jesusCPose@aol.com who says he saw them this night...
He is totally right : I've seen Soundgarden the 9th of october 1996 and
I've seen Pearl Jam the 7th of october 1996, that's why I mixed up this 2
dates...I've got pictures with them to prove it...
	Sorry.

Just out of curiousity, who mixed and/or produced "Blind Dogs" ? It
sounds like something that Michael Beinhorn would do, since the song has
that Superunknown feel to it.

Subject: A Comparison

Normally, I wouldn't do a comparison like this for fear of reprisal or
slamming, but I couldn't help noticing the parallels between the
legendary band Led Zeppelin and our own sewly-legendary Soundgarden.

1. Great lyrics/lyricist (Plant & Cornell) (yes, I know Ben came up
   with some killer lyrics too...)

2. Great virtuoso lead playing on the solos (Thayil and Page)

3. Great rhythm guitar chops and memorable riffery (Cornell and Page)

4. Awesome multitalented bassist who contributed to the bands work as a
whole (Shepherd and Paul Jones (nee Baldwin))

5. Arguably the greatest drummers in their time and genre
   (Cameron and Bonham)

In addition, both bands were able to sound "heavier" than anything
previously heard or felt. By that I do not mean "harder," which is
most closely associated with metal rock. But when I first heard Slaves
and Bulldozers, it was as if a weight was sitting on my shoulders, and
I realized it was the music driving me down!

P.S. Thanks Matt, you have shown us that we are not forgotten as fans.
I wish you all of the luck in anything you choose to do.

Take Care,

carlo

Hmm..perhaps Chris is showing (for one line) the copycat band's perspective.
Think about it for a second. If you look at the music scene from a copycat
band's point of view, they are probably tired of answering the critics, etc
so they are probably thinking to themselves "I'm gonna show you someday" to
all their detractors. That is the only thing I could come up..

By the way, I really enjoyed reading your review Justin. Keep them coming.

Subject: kim and chris at the library?

I just got done reading the last few digests and came upon a post about chris
bowling. Now, I could be wrong (because this was a long time ago), but I
remember something on MTV with Chris and Kim at the library. Does anyone
else remember this? From what I remember it was pretty entertaining. Anyone
got it on tape? (i know chances are slight). By the way, I know everyone
has said it already, but thanks again seth, for forwarding matt's letter I
can't explain how it made me feel.
                               Katie :)

title change and the change of lyric signature? Since I've only noticed it
since they broke up)

Not necessary. (to shut up that is)
I found it very interesting and I have to say that I had never looked at
Karaoke in that way before but I never really go into analysing the lyrics
that
much. Although I really love the "Oh Yeah" throughout but that's not really
that strange considering that I have been for a while (though not so much
this month) going through a Snout faze so the "oh yeah" fits very well with
their Mod-pop music.

Another comment I have to make is that I sometimes listen to the albums and
can't believe that their the same band (I'm exaggerating a bit but you get
the point). But when I listen to Karaoke I can definitely hear that it is
the same band that did DOTU in that sense. But I agree that it wouldn't
really flow with the material that is on DOTU.

But the way I had always perceived Karaoke was that it was about hearing a
song and assumed that it was a good song, perhaps your favourite rather
than a rip-off-off-of-a-song.
You can hear it in the air
You can feel it in your bones
You can sing it in your head
You can wear it on your clothes
I suppose this is the way I hear Soundgarden and many others could describe
the way they here them in this way too. We listen to their music and wear
their shirts. I definitely sing it in my head, a really good morning is
where I wake up with a SG song in my head but that's often.

Well enough from me, but very good idea take our minds off the grief and
remember the music and still spread the music to the unconverted.

Just one more thing though not entirely happy note last Thursday I got a
nephew then on Sunday my grandfather died. I felt that I wasn't grieving
properly because I wasn't really upset then this morning I realised that I
now have to pass on his memory to my nephew so that he isn't forgotten he
will always be remembered because I'd like to see my self in at least years
to come the historian or the one who wont forget the people who are no
longer around to tell their stories for themselves. Maybe in some way this
could be related to SG but no not really because we will always play their
albums even if know one else remembers their music.

Sorry about that but I needed to say that at least somewhere because at
least someone out there somewhere will understand.

Ok i heard rumors about an unplugged session, that the guys might be
doing as some sort of reunion. Does anybody know if this is true or not.
Also, I have all of SG's CDs except one. I forgot the album name but the
songs 665 and 667 is on it, does anybody know the Title. It would help so i
