First off-thanks to Deborah Baker & Toni for responding to my queries
on Chris hitting on some girl & Inflatable Soule. I tried e-mailing
both directly but my computer is a piece of shit and would'nt work
right. Anyways, I feel much better after receiving so many responses
concerning that girl who said Chris hit on her at some party. It's
obviously not true-there is no way he would behave that way & no way
Susan would tolerate it if it were true. I saw them together at the
Grammy's-there's been entries to this digests in the past stating that
Susan is somewhat unattractive & even ugly. I don't think she is a
person who photographs particularly well but she looked realy pretty
at the Grammy's and of course Chris looked great as usual. I'm off to
Vegas for a week-hopefully Seth will have added some cool stuff to the
site when I get back. Take care. Kristen F. (Mark is my
husband-this is his e-mail address)

WHO THE HELL IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS DUMB ASS STATEMENT????

Chris Cornell is *THE* greatest and most poetic writer to have ever graced
the music or literary scene in this century or any other. Anyone who thinks
Billy whiny-ass Corgan even compares to CC knows absolutely nothing about
writing!

Lance

Corgan is exactly what Chris was writing about when he wrote Jesus Christ

I just realized the other day that inside the hype! soundtrack it says
"You're town could be next" and considering my town is chapel hill, i
found that a little scary, b/c mainstream mags like spin and rolling stone
used to tout chapel hill as the "next seattle". Of course, they never
went beyond archers of loaf and superchunk, but i guess that's beside the
point. Wait, this is sposed to have something to do w/ sg...maybe archers
of loaf are the SG of chapel hill, supechunk is the alice in chains, and
squirrel nut zippers are the pearl jam....polvo for nirvana? i don't

In the March 1st KERRANG! magazine, Chris talks about how every member of
the band has been sued. We all know about Kim allegedly assaulting a fan
and Chris tells about how Matt threw his snare drum up in the air and it
bounced off the drum riser, rolled offstage and landed on some guy's
shoulder, who in turn sued. I was wondering what Chris and Ben have been
sued for?? Does anybody know?

Why can't assholes like MOSH be a semi-fan and know the correct names of the
songs? Jeez I wonder if he's ever heard a Soundgarden song that wasn't on
the radio? You would think that he would at least own an album by a band
he's ripping off. I mean you have to deal with lots of scumbags charging
money for a booted show on video, tape or DAT. Sometimes that's the only
way to get a show. Especially with a band like Soundgarden that doesn't
have many boot traders. (/me waves to the 10 of you on this list)

Some may say that he's providing a beneficial service since that's the only
way to get SG boots. Ya know..that's sorta correct...but this guy is
obviously not a fan. He is totally motivated by the dollar. He's stealing
from the Poor to feed the Poor. A Robin Hood he is Not.

You could be a Pearl Jam or Phish or Grateful Dead (etc.) boot collector and
get every show they've ever done on tape or video for the price of blank
tapes and postage...which is totally cool. All you need is patience...and
NOT a 'gimme, gimme, gimme' childish attitude. Need a copy of a PJ show
from 1996? Goto alt.music.pearljam and ask nicely and offer to pay for
everything and have a decent 'tude and you'll find someone who has the
*time* to do it for you.

There are tonz of cool traders, even here, who will tape a show and
circulate it cuz they are FANS and they just want everyone to have a chance
to hear their fave band OR maybe they'll do it just to trade for more shows?
We've had 2 or 3 video/audio trees on this list. But we don't have the
volume of traders to give everyone a chance to own what's been
released...which sucks.

There is a risk being taken to get a SG show booted and I do think if you
take the risk you should be rewarded. Management has choosen an anti-taping
stance and has sometimes put metal detectors at the gates to stop taping.
(Showbox)...That's fine for whatever reason they choose...but that attitude
just creates worse conditions for the trading fans. Shows will be taped
irregardless of the security measures.

While the greed and allure of easy money will appeal to some of these
tapers...there are others that have adopted the PJ and GD philosophy of
sharing their work or just trading their work for more shows...what is wrong
with that? Absolutely nothing.

Maybe I'll give away FREE copies of this video to people who know the
correct names of the songs in the set list.

Hmmmm....watch this space when spring break starts :-)

I dont't know if chris did hit on the girl, and truthfully i could care
less, i try to just listen to the music....But, when did chris and other
rockstars who are idolized become exempt from the temptations that other
humans have. How could there be no way that he would behave like that?
Chris is a great songwriter, performer, singer, etc...but, he is not a

um, lance -- ever heard of an *opinion*?????????????

you're flaming someone you don't even know, who happens to be incredibly
intelligent and insightful. you're flaming someone i have had long,
involved discussions on song meaning for various artists, from pearl jam to
the who to r.e.m., who comes up with insights into my favorite band's lyrics
that i have never even CONSIDERED.

you don't agree with him -- your priviledge. but i think this was uncalled
for. and i personally happen to disagree with you strongly. chris cornell
is a great writer, but hardly a poet. (than again, i don't think jim
morrison was a poet either, even though it was his most fervent wish).
eddie vedder is not a poet. michael stipe is not a poet. they all write
songs that move us and touch us, yes. you happen to think he's the greatest
writer, more power to you. i would disagree. i love his words and his
insights and his perspectives, but they don't touch me the way some other
lyricists do.

with that statement, you write off some of the greatest artists this planet
will ever know, such as pete townshend or patti smith, for example.
however, i'm not going to tell you that your statement is "dumb ass" or
insult you personally. it's your opinion; i respect it. i don't agree with
it, but so what?

I was thinking that since I love both Ben Shepherd and hardcore punk music
that this might be the kind of thing I'd like. I haven't started looking for
it yet, but I was considering searching soon.

What I'm basically inquiring is if I will have any trouble finding it. Is it
out of print, how many albums did they put out, will I have to go to a
special place to find it? I looked through the page before I asked this but
didn't find any real info on it - or am I just looking in the wrong place????

And somebody mentioned that Ben hated Kiss - does anyone know if this is
true?

Rita (y'know I had a hamster named Rita once) - it's a very cool thing you're
doing by sticking up for Susan. I agree, Susan is a very wonderful woman. And
how could anyone think she's UGLY??? I may have only seen three pictures of
her, but they were all very flattering and she looked absolutely gorgeous in
all of them.

Just a note: Patrick Dalheimer and Chad Gracey DO exist--they're just the
bassist and drummer for Live (as you might have guessed if you knew that
Live was from York, PA). By the way, I think Live's new album is excellent
and deserves a listen if you get the chance. Particularly track #9,
Heropsychodreamer.

Also, can that possibly be Chris Cornell's birthday? I suppose I could go
to the page and check it out for myself, but just looking at it here, it
seems wrong. The date they have there would make him 25 right now, and I
could have sworn he was over 30.

I have no idea about what happened in Chicago, but I do know that I have a
fork encounter of my own to report. I am also a big Blind Melon fan (at my
first SG concert, I also discovered Blind Melon at the same ), and I had no
idea of the history behind the infamous fork...otherwise, this particular
incident would have affected me much more deeply...

I'm sure I've told many of you my Chris story...but for those i haven't, i'll
tell ya if ya e-mail me =) anyway: the very abridged version:Chris hugged me
after I said something obviously very touching and the ultramega cool fork
necklace currently under discussion got hooked on my little vest! We
giggled as we unhooked it from my shirt! I had a silly-giggly moment w/
Chris heee heee! OH sorry. Anyway, considering my deep affection for Chris
(obviously) as well as the late Shannon Hoon, I felt the need to share with
the group. I'm gonna go get all fuzzy now...=)

Thanks for reading my tangent...
