I heard somebody talkin about SG fightin somebody I mean as a
thread. Wel personally I don't want to see them doin that but for
the sake of the thread I have an idea.
SG should get in thier timemachine go back to the 80's and beat
the living hell out of that bunch of homos that called themselves the
Culture Club, and they also need to beat the crap out of The Violent
Femms and Megadeth.

accepted by television, like suddenly susan, and the naked truth, I dont
know if any one ever brought this up, I saw the cable guy, and the freind

Just thought I'd share that, btw what's up with hype! is it going

so, soundgarden should beat up a band because it contained members that
were homosexual? you obviously know ZERO about soundgarden, asshole.
they would be more likely to beat up a band full of ignorant frat boys
like yourself than they would be to hurt someone because their sexual
orientation was different than their own. chris used to take a lot of
shit in the early days for the long hair and the way he used to flaunt
it...

the violent femmes were one of the best bands that the american
underground of the 80's produced. go listen to the lfirst album, if you
even have the intelligence to figure out where "V" is in the alphabet,
which i doubt.

i don't know enough about megadeth to defend them intelligently, but i'm
sure someone here can.

SHROOM! where are you?! we need a lengthy discussion about chris cornell
and dave navarro in a hot tub... or mabye chris and matt and their
extra-curricular activities while susan is out of town.... ;->

Thanks for not flaming me, just kicking me off the list. I was getting sick
of the boring, idle chat that consisted of every aspect of Chris Cornell's
life. I thought that stuff was more boring or less relevant than what I
said. I did not know it, but this list seems to have a class system, and I
did not fit the mold for this group, I got kicked off for just telling my
opinions, which is a whole hell load more interesting to read than someone
who had the same pathetic dream every night or how much Bush sucks. Seth

Hey...

First off I just wanted to say to Lissa - you will see SG live! We'll all
get a chance to see them again, I'm sure of it. :)

Someone asked what anarchy is, and then said that they think people
who listen to "alternative" music must be advocates of anarchy. Well,
anarchy is basically disorder, esp in a political sense. "Anarchist" is
a term often used to describe someone who basically just flagrantly
ignores or breaks rules/laws and goes around complaining about the
gov't but doesn't do a thing to try and improve it. Anarchy's been the
subject of a lot of punk songs, and I guess it's stereotypical that
people who listen to punk music or are in punk bands, etc. are
anarchists. But that's just it - it's stereotypical. I listen to punk, =
metal,
alt, whatever... lots of different kinds of music and *I'm* not an
anarchist. You could be a staunch Republican and be a big Sex
Pistols fan. The kind of music a person listens to has nothing to do
w/ their political standpoint.

And one more thing. . .
Vince - don't test your loyalty?! Now Vince, don't you think you're
being just a tad melodramatic? I think you know that your response
to what I said about SNL was less than tactful, and really
unnecessary, and you're just pissed that I called you on it.
And is the best you could come up w/ "puppethead"?

That's all for now... =3D)

The reason why some people have to come up with these rumors is, other
than that Chris, Ben, Kim, and Matt are the members of a popular band,
make lots of money, Chris has mucho grande dogs, and is especially fond
of the two little happy fluffy ones he owns, most people can't except
that Chris, Ben, Kim, and Matt lead really average lives. In the 80s'
the bands that were popular then were on heavy duty drugs, dating
models, and/or getting bailed out of jail (maybe or maybe not all at the
same time). With the exception of the alleged incedent, Kim Thayil vs

Kim would be good at arguing his point, Chris would be to drunk and Ben
would find out its much harder to beat up people because they fight back

Who is being melodramatic Lorraine? And who is the one that is pissed? Read
this next part care real carefully: all I did was critique your opinion..I
didn't insult you, got it? You like the SG snl performance; I don't. Who
fucking cares? It is an opinion. So chill the fuck out. And about the loyalty
part - I was referring to the way you said that I didn't appreciate the effort
that Chris put forth on SNL. I just found that a little bit insulting. You
don't know what I was thinking during it so please don't attempt to do
so here. And I did not call you a puppethead. If you read what I had posted
more carefully you would have seen that I was talking about the follow-the-
trend-"puppetheaded"-blind fans who never find fault with what their
favorite band is up to. I am not like that. If SG does something that I
do not like, I have no problem saying so. And that is exactly what I did
here. I hope I have made myself perfectly clear. Now if you want to continue

And they could put weird make up on and big Platform shoes and, Ben could
breathe fire and spit Blood, Kim could shoot rockets from his guitar, and
they could write simple catchy rock tunes with lyrics like:
"You're good looking and you're looking like you should be good"
They could get stage names Matt -> The cat, Kim -> Spaceman, Chris ->
Starchild and Ben -> God of Thunder. Yeah that could work :)

Good God man, may the Lord be with you...

Go easy on this poor soul. I don't suspect he really has a chance.
Everyone seems to be somewhat on edge lately. It does make things
interesting, but not really in a good way. I feel a little sick to my
stomach whenever confronted with open hostility.

Anyway, I don't seem to get as much of a chance to write to the list as I'd
like to (Physical Chemistry is evil). Something blind dog said made me
think a little though.

>it looks like the band will be saving any material they have left over or
have >since written for their next full-length release.

This is fine with me. I don't have the time or money to go out looking for
expensive singles to simply hear one song I haven't heard before. I like
the anticipation of a new album coming out consisting entirely of new songs,
and I think Soundgarden does us a service by trying to save a lot of their
material for the albums.

You know what? I'll have to admit that Soundgarden is not my favorite band.
They're definitely way up there, but the reason I'm on this list isn't
because I like their music more than any other. It's because the list
itself is so cool. I was on a Pearl Jam list a while ago (my favorite group
perhaps until I discovered Dave Matthews Band), but I don't know if it was
just a slow *three months* or what, but the conversation there completely
failed to compare with what was going on here. And the more I listen to all
of you raving about Soundgarden, the more interested I become in them. I'll
admit I was hooked by Superunknown, but I've been expanding my Soundgarden
tastes for over a year now--I have Badmotorfinger and Louder Than Love, as
well as AITS and DOTU--and it's been all because of you folks. I guess I'll
consider it self-improvement. ;)

Enough. Sleep is what I need after 40 hours without any. (Like I said, P
Chem is evil.)

Kesa

One final thought. If you wore a sign that said when you were joking, then
people would think you were joking. But then that's the point, I guess.

I don't think Soundgarden will employ many of the tactics of the arena

I had something quite nasty prepared for this line, but decided not to sink
that low.

Have you ever met Ben? No, I'm guessing you haven't. You don't know anything
about him besides that fact that Ben likes to spit into the audience - right?
If you ask me, that's not very good karma ripping on someone you know nothing
about.

My new theory on why Ben is the way he is goes like this: we all know how
much he hates the press and large mobs of fans mauling him, right? If this
guy, an intimidatingly spry 6'4" tall, puts on the act that he's tough and
full of piss and vinegar and'll kick the shit out of anyone who looks at him
crosseyed, fans and press will be more likely to leave him alone, eh? Am I
right? Is there anyone else out there who finds this point logical?

I was having fun, now I'm just getting a little pissed that people are so
wrapped up in a little spit and a long middle finger that they can't actually
see what a wonderful person and musician this boy is.

Thank you again to the people who are helping me stick up for Ben,

I'm sorry, I just can't let this pass. Anarchism is not "disorder",

Liberal Socalism, which is what I have tried to describe above. Other
forms of Anarchy are based less on cooperation and more on the primacy
of individual freedom.

Soundgarden content: I have never heard that any of the members of
Soundgarden are themselves Anarchists. The (Artists Against Hate and
Intolerance? what was it again?)
sticker that came with the fan club package sounded COMPATIBLE with
Anarchism, but it isn't necessarily an Anarchist organization.
The organization also sounded compatible with Representational
Democracy, so that doesn't prove anything.

Subject: Hi and stuff

Hi guys,

this is desparation and there will be some SG content. I was wondering if
any Sydney SOMMSters had spare tickets to Tool in Newcastle or Canberra?
Ive missed out waiting for another Sydney gig to be announced!

SG content...... I'll share a little home decorating tip, have ever wished
you had a Soundgarden fridge magnet? well I did so I bought a cool JCP
sticker and put it on some thick cardboard then stuck some of that thin
strip magnet stuff on the back.... voila! a beautiful fridge magnet. (OK so
its a bit weak on the SG content but since they left Australia I havent had
much to say, expect I wish they were still here).

Cheers
Mandy
