ok guys, here's one for ya!

If SG broke up, I'd personally kick all their asses in a fight. If SG
members started fighting (physically), me and my homegirl (bear w/ me guys, I
have a pt.) Susan would whoop all of their pink asses. (Hey, I kinda like
this ebonics stuff...) And finally, here's a thread for ya SOMMSters... how
about SG and New Edition fighting... I bet everyone's money is all on Bobbi
Brown, right? Huh, I was kinda going for Johnnie Gill myself... ;-).

Would anyone else pay to see that fight? Yeah, I know there's like 6 guys in
New Edition, but, I kinda think just Ben could take them all w/ one arm
behind his back and his good eye closed! Anyone else agree...???

Thanks to every darling/sweet/honey bunches of oats one of you that emailed
me or posted to me in comfort. Believe me, it really did help. Especially
considering the other girl in the accident was taken off life support last
night. Damn, but this grieving stuff isn't my style. Life really sucks,
y'know? And I *STILL* have yet to attend a SG concert. Of course you all
are chatting away about the possibilities and lack of possibilities of SG
breaking up, while I waste away into nothingness, thinking I'll never see the
greatest band in the world live. I was driving home the other day, and BUTOW
came on the radio. So, I go flying by my turnoff onto the main road and the
more I pay attention to the lyrics, the more upset I get. It was like Chris
was singing my feelings about never seeing them live. "I'd give you
everything I own (to attend the concert)... wanting though I never would...
wishing though I never could..." How does he know how I feel?

GOD DAMMIT, I'M NEVER GONNA GO!!!!!!!! GOODBYE CRUEL WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did I mention that this is upsetting to me? Except for Lollapalooza, the
closest they came was Toronto. I was so excited when my mom told me I could
go to the concert, anywhere in NY, except the city. WRONG!! They decided a
different country would be better. Damn them... =).

Well, enough babbling for now. What? Did you say, "finally!". Ok, I can go
on...
J/K! BTW, have I ever mentioned Chris is semi-good looking...;-)?? Just
thought I'd ask... heh, heh, heh...

love, lissa =)

"Collector's fair, here I come... Collector's fair here I come... give me all
your SG stuff... b/c if you don't the SOMMSters will beat me up..."

put it to a tune, it's kind of catchy!!

Subject: The History of Soundgarden and BEN

Okay, this is probably going to piss a few people off, but I think if
you're honest with yourself, you'll see I have a point.
THE ABRIDGED VERSION OF SG HISTORY:
At first SG made records with SubPop, although they have a few
outstanding songs, the bulk is mediocre and their sound is very rough and
heavy
Then comes Ultramega Ok: let's face it, the mix sucks, BUT songwriting
ability is improving, more good songs that are even better than the good
songs on Screaming life and Fopp
Louder Than Love: umm... we're reaching critical talent mass... I hate
this album
*********Ben Shepherd joins the Band*********************
Badmotorfinger: do I really need to say anything?
SuperUnknown:	Soundgarden explodes, gains a gabillion fans worldwide,
gets total radio and MTV saturation... whole sound changes, the band
sounds competent
Down On the Upside: It's nothing to beatup someone over, and it doesn't
exactly make you want to go bang your head against the wall, but the song
writing is phenomenal. The sound quality is phenominal. The shows are
phenominal and where Superunknown only had three radio hits, DOTU is
pumping out hit after hit.
Face it, if Ben hadn't hit the scene, this list would consist of about
thirty people. They'd be Soundgarden, but they wouldn't sound anything
like they do now. We owe a hell of a lot of thanks to Ben Shepherd. I
never could understand how a great many of you can overlook his
contribution to the band. Each member has his own to offer, but you
can't just disregard someone as technically talented and artistically
gifted as Ben Shepherd as some fill-in bass player.
Long live Ben,
Chris

There was a time when soundgarden was churning out an album every year.
So whats up with our dower sons?? Down on the upside is almost a year

If I remember correctly, wasn't Soungarden on tour all last year? Where
would they find the time to record another albulm? I would rather hear the
quality music I have come to expect from sound garden, then to hear crap
because they were trying to pump out an albulm a year. Other bands that
started out pretty good have done that very thing and I am unable to listen
to them now because it is assembly line music and it sucks. This is just my
opinion.

*disclaimer*
the following e-mail contants Soundgarden related material that may NOT be
suitable for people NOT on this list( in other words, If you are not on

get your attention though.

It was the last day of the NAMM show in Anahiem CA,(for those of you who
don't know what the NAMM show is, it is a convention were all the big abd
little names in the general music feild congregate to show of thier new
and old stuff, i.e. Dean Markley, Fender, Gibson, etc.) As I was walking
past the Ernie Ball display booth I noticed some free posters of Kim. I
turned to my brother and let out a huge, DUDE! LOOK! FREE POSTERS OF KIM!
and there were about a-Kagillion of them there. However by brother seemed
unaffected by my enthusiasum. He simply nodded his head and proceaded to
the scarce quantity of 311 (Woo Hoo *insert sarcasam*) posters. I just
wish that kim could have been there to give a demonstration of Ernie Ball
strings. But alas, he was touring. But the day was not a total loss, I
got a whole bunch of free crap that I didn't need (You can't beat that).

I read way back in the "Details" interview with Chris Cornell that SG were
going to London to film some MTV specials. That had to be 5 or 6 months

something about them doing a MTV thing. Was this strictly a EuroMTV thing?

Just checked out the updated page - Seth you are a GOD!

Any of you out there who have not checked out the updates, get your hind ends
over there right away! Included in the new pictures is none other than Matt
in his tighty whities! Whooie ladies (and I'm guessing a few guys), this fox
is 100% MAN!

There're also a bunch of other new things on the miscellaneous page much
worth checking out - their holiday cards are very quirky. =) I'm guessing
these guys are pretty great since they're opposed to Colombus Day - you gotta
love 'em!

And, does anyone have any SG posters around them, at their local music store?
The ones you can pick up for $5 bucks or so. I've only been able to find one
around here, a B&W one of them standing - I have the t-shirt of that, too.
I've been to every store within a 30 mile radius and that's the only one any
of them have. I could order some from the magazinges I have, but I hate to
pay $20 bucks for a poster I haven't even seen. I'd be glad to ship out some
bucks to anyone who does happen to find a different one. And if anyone else
is in the same predicament, I could pick up that one for you.

Thank you to anyone who can help,

Subject: break up; note to vince

Hey...

First off I want to say that I completely agree w/ what Caryn said in
reference to SG's "break up." About 99% of what the media says
is fabricated - by a bunch of pricks w/ nothing better to do or say.
So Ben & Kim had a disagreement, so they got into a fight. So
fucking what?! These things happen. And as for Ben leaving -
Ben Shepherd is one of the greatest musicians/songwriters ever,
and Soundgarden could never be the same w/out him.

And Vince... so sorry what I said about SNL bothered you so much,
I was merely expressing what we call an *opinion*. Maybe you've
heard of that. You see, opinions are not fact and often times differ.
In *my* opinion, CC pulled the performance off pretty well
considering... and it was obvious that the audience understood
and appreciated that. Too bad you couldn't.

That's all for now...

i agree with jamie. 100%. but i also feel that as much as we love them, we
have no right to know about their personal relationships and how they run

questions like these can always be answered on seth's excellent web site
(http://www.sgi.net/soundgarden/) and specifically in justin's
equally-excellent faq (http://www.sgi.net/soundgarden/faq/1.html#6 , for the

Well Everyone I've got a question for you guys: What exactly does Anarchy mean?
People say that it's the opposite of peace, but if you look anarchy up in
the dictionary it simply says: Absence of any cohesive principle, such as
a common standard or purpose, does that sound like the opposite of peace
to anyone?

Soundgarden Content: Wondering if the members of soundgarden go by this
Anarchy
                      method.

For some reason people think that if your into grunge/alternative music you
have to go by Anarchy, and even if I did, people would say then why are you
for world peace.

so long...don't take anything for granted.
Lance: No, that other person was right, Kurt was born on the 20th Feb.

Being from Australia and only seeing SG four times EVER I have not
personally witnessed Ben "being a psycho". But I was front row at
both Melbourne gigs (ie., Festival Hall and the BDO) and Ben looked
(for lack of better words) intense, like he was playing his heart out
- -which he was. He often looked out to the crowd with what *appeared*
like a dislike but who gives a shit, as long as he continues his
brilliant playing. Also at the Festival gig, not only was it about
60oC (about 140oF) in there but they ran out of water for us in the
general admission!! We all looked near death. As far as i could see i
was the only girl who remained up the front and about five songs into
the set a big spalsh of water landed on me. it was Ben, he had
grabbed *HIS* bottle of water and probably saved me from collapsing,
so there you go - a nice thing done by Ben. I apologise if he was
pointing to the person behind me and the water was meant for you :)
I know at least ben and matt can handle each others company, they
were both at the instore show that You am I did the day before the BDO
I know they both love YAI, (Matt was doing air drums while they
were on at Festival hall and Ben played in then horn section)
but they also came to the instore show after party.
Dave- in regards to rock's demise, I believe that alot of people
jumped on the "grunge/alternative/whatever" bandwagon, just b/c it
was new, therefore high record sales. these people are *probably*
now jumping on the next bandwagon that's coming, therefore PJ/SG etc
are having lower record sales. But who gives a shit, less people in
the crowd at gigs :)
Chris's tattoo - i tried real hard to work out what it was, it's on
this right arm and was like a horizontal line with something below
it. I even pointed to it at one stage, but Chris just smiled at me -
I was pretty happy w/that!
