Oh, and Shroomy: I think it may have been an alphabetical listing
if Cobain was near the top and Thayil was dead last. Were the rest
in alpha order too?

Nothing, I guess--just that Thayil likes Tool. He wore a Corrosion Of
Conformity shirt too. Does it really have to have some secret correlation to
it? Jeez! (just kidding)

Picture it, guys...Chris is doing a video for a song on his newest
album...'Nucleus Andromeda'...he's got a nice conservative hairstyle with his
hair parted to one side...he's wearing a Hootie and the Blowfish T-Shirt with
a Bush dogtag around his neck and a pair of tight-ass Levi's...the name of
the song is titled 'Back Home', and it sounds like the most un-creative,
on-the-road acoustic music that fills our commercial radios. Here's a
snippet of the song:

I'm just sitting in this tour van
singing this ole tune
can't wait to get to Seattle
'cause I gotta get to my Shroom
even though I got my three buddies
I'm feelin' all alone
I miss the rain that makes me insane
I really gotta get back home

(At this point in the video, seth, who is in shock, rips out the remainder of
his hair. Shroom is actually outraged and actually tears Chris's pictures
off her wall, and Aaron(ThNrthFace) gets silly drunk.)

I, however, am just insane for thinking about it anyway.

it the lyrics you can't stand as well?

I don't totally hate BHS but I don't really give it much attention anymore
and it's not because of the music or the lyrics. It's the video. First of
all I'm not a big fan of concept videos and secondly they played it to
death here in the States. Over and over and over - it got to the point
where even if you just heard the song on the radio in your mind you would
see parts of the video. "In my disgrace - Boiling heat, - Summer
stanch" oh yeah that's the part where the pan is boiling over on the stove.
It just made it hard for me to listen to the song.

Now when Chris did it as a dedications to the SOMMs member in Chicago, we
were all so hyped, running around, screaming, that I didn't even hear most
of the song. All I knew was Chris and the band were doing a song for our
mailing list and he could have been singing the itsy bitsy spider song for
all I cared. :-)

Heh heh,
I just had to throw out my opinion on this. Someone asked what do you
think he means by this. I think he meant actually having his brains fucked
out by some heavy black eyeliner wearin-black clothes, tattooed, whatever
else chick. "As Im raped by another money circus freak". And shes trying to
get him happy...."trying to take, my indigence away from me, from me" The
rest of the lyrics would indicate this was a sexual experience too. "Holy
bible on the night stand next to me". "Holy murder was the best I heard her
scream". I just laughed when I first heard that song. I could just picture
the whole event.

Chris wasnt always married of course. And someone in his position i.e. a
rock singer/musician has women willing and able all the time. Im sure any
one of us women, given the change, would sieze the opportunity ourselves.
 Well, thats my opinion.

Even though Chris is married. Do you really think they see that much of
each other? What could that marriage be like? He has been touring for
years. She is busy with all her clients. He likes to spend time alone. I do
not doubt they love each other, Im not saying that. But, can anyone in that
position be 100% faithful all the time? I dunno.

i think that's a gross generalization. some of us joke about it all the
time but that's just it, it's a joke. some of us would. some of us are
neutral. no judgements here, just not wanting to lump people into
groupings they don't want to be lumped in.

this isn't the 1960's. what could that marriage be like? Without
knowing, of course, I would say that it's an excellent relationship, one
in which both partners have the space they need. Where the two people are
whole individuals whose identity does not rely on the other. Where there
is support and encouragement. Don't forget, Susan was Chris' first real
girlfriend. She didn't want to be their manager. I think she has 100%
successfully preserved her own identity. She's a great businesswoman and
an excellent manager. I think soundgarden lucked out having her as their
manager.

chris has said that their relationship is successful because susan gives
him all the space he needs. it takes a person 100% secure in themselves
and their relationship to do that. if the relationship wasn't strong, it
wouldn't survive the time space and separation.

and back to my point. this isn't the 60's. groupies are not mandatory.
there are plenty of bands out there who do not participate in the groupie
scene. there are plenty of bands who will not tolerate it and in fact
penalize their crew for taking advantage of the groupie scene... and
soundgarden has made their distaste for women like that very publicly
known...

i don't know what i'm saying here. personally i cannot believe that i am
discussing the intimate relationship between two people i don't even KNOW
in a public forum. if anything i'm defending susan i guess; defending
soundgarden because they aren't a bunch of buttrockers who think with
their dicks 24/7.

Hi y'all, I bet you're glad to see me back again.,

Anyway, I'd like to thank all of you who gave me the tab for Reach Down. It
was a big hit, and everyone was shocked with my singing(the female version of
Chris was one comment)

Another thing....Let's talk about threads. Threads are here to gather up
ideas on one situation....example....If you had one full day with SG, where
would you go, what whould you do? There are other threads that we rather see
go...like the What-if-Chris-had-AIDS one. My point is that when you start a
thread, please think about if it makes any sense first.

SG content...................Does anyone have an extra BUTOW single? I
wouldn't expect anyone too, but there just might be a ray of hope out there
somewhere.
1/2 Soundgarden content..............Is it true that the Hater Cd is out of
print? I hope they come up with something soon. I love that band!

I must go practice Seasons now...TTFN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just thought I'd share this observation with you all!!!
I went to both the shows here in Hawaii , and at the Maui show Chris took
his shirt off, that's when
I noticed a tattoo on his upper right arm, when did that happen. It looks
like some kind of chinese symbol
One of the road crew said it symbolized Susan's birthday in chinese! WOW ,
that's some serious love there!!
Anyway, just thought I'd share.. bye bye....Nancy

I went to my first Soundgarden concert two days ago and had a blast. I
got crowd walked a for a long time, but was quite offended when some
person very unconspicuously grabbed where they shouldn't have. I can
understand if it were an accident, but this was no accident and was
quite blunt. I'm not sure if these individuals go to concerts where
they know young attractive women will be crowdwalking just for the two
second thrill of grabbing somebody and knowing that they cannot be
detected in such a crowd. Despite the brief rude interruption, I had a
great time and will certainly go to another concert if they ever come back to
 Maui, Hawaii.

sorry to talk about this stuff again, but does ANYone have any soundgarden
bass guitar tabs that are pretty accurate? I know a few have been in some
magazines, but i can't obtain the ones I've been looking for. if anyone has
any or has figured some out, please email me. I need them mainly to see if i
can put a SG cover into a performance and maybe even contribute to that somms

I=20
know that CC has often said that BHS has no meaning, and maybe=20
it doesn't - to him. I have no way of knowing. But to me they do
make sense, and they're very personal....
>>BHS has some of the most beautiful, and meaningful (to me) lyrics
I've ever heard. Particularly "And my youth I pray to keep." That

so simple, but it's also so deep.=20

Lorraine, I couldn't have said it better myself. I think I liked BHS =
originally because it's one of my husband's favourite songs (you know, =
love someone - you love what they love). And I can see why some =
Sommsters are sick of it. Hell, it doesn't get played that much here in =
Australia (well, no more than other SG songs), but I know a lot of =
people who only know of SG because of that song. However, like =
Lorraine, I think it's the lyrics that drew me into it. It's not one of =
my top 3 SG songs, but it IS a special song. That line Lorraine =
mentioned is meaningful. A lot like Pearl Jam's "Restless soul, enjoy =
your youth" in 'Not For You'.

Another beautiful line from BHS has got to be "Heaven send Hell away, no =
one sings like you anymore", and what about "Steal the warm wind, tired =
friend - times are gone for honest men"??

And to hear CC sing those lines solo, with such passion and sadness, =
seems to make all those words really MEAN something. In fact, I think =
the whole song should be studied and enjoyed forever more in English =
poetry classes - I know my old English teacher would have simply fallen =
in love with its lyrics..........

{Chris Cornell would probably shudder at that suggestion, though - =
please forgive me, CC!}

Tell me, do any of the BHS-haters on this list hate only the music, or =
is it the lyrics you can't stand as well?
