Hi SoMMSTERs!!
Well...I checked the #somms-channel in UnDERNET out, but it seemed to be VERY
quiet there. Actually I've been there for about 2hours and nobody came. :(
So is somebody of you on IRC-net sometimes? I'd love to meet somebody of you
and have an enlightening chat. =) Usually I'm always in #soundgarden on
lunchtime or late noon (central european) which is morning or lunchtime in the
States and evening and nite in Australia...so...visit me!!! I look forward to
meet someone of you!! btw..my nick is Zap. ;)

Just thought I'd share this with y'all... :)
Well, I was looking around the 'net, and I found this really *interesting*
interview with Kim and Chris. There's also an interview with Chris that has
an in-depth focus on his lyrics. There's some soundclips and a videoclip
from BUTOW, too. And... there's a link to SETH'S site! :) Here's the
url:

It's *definitely* worth checking out.

Found a new rock magazine on the newstands of London this week. Monsters Of
Rock!! <groan> But, hey, nevermind, there's something here on Soundgarden!

Yeah, sure...

It turned out to be a crappy and inacurate - not to mention *very* late -
article/review of Down On The Upside. Did you know that "most of the music
has been written by drummer Matt Cameron"? And that Karaoke is on there too!?!

Even the pictures suck - unless of course Ben really does have red eyes.

The editor asked for feedback on the first issue. I was verrrrry tempted :-)

Hey,
If there are any TOronto area sommsters out there with good bootleg
collections, can you please email me privately and let me know where in
the city you got them? For the love of all things soundgarden, i can't
find one store in this city with good sg bootlegs!!
thanks,

now, i promised myself i wouldn't write anymore on this topic, but
this particular description of possibly one of my favorite SG songs
brought me back to the SOMMS board. "Mailman" is amazing, it really
is. The words speak sadness and anger and hatred and love and every
emotion almost. it's just one of those songs, the kind that make you
lay on yr back and close yr eyes and drift away into another world.
same with Slaves & Bulldozers and Beyond the Wheel and Incessant Mace.

The person i am currently half involved with is one of the most
sarcastic humans alive, i'm willing to place a bet on that too, and
it is amazingly sexy at times. so, shroom sums it up here for me.
and the refrain of "i know i'm heading for the bottom..." which just
drops in tone at the end before exploding into "but i'm ridng you all
the way..." is something indescribably sexy, especially right before
the end of the song, where the whole chorus turns into a scream.
*sigh*
 = ) mind riot

pssst! shroom! how's ultramega unknown coming along? = )

does anyone have the tab for fluttergirl? the last time that i checked
on the page, i didn't see it. if you could, please let me know. i have
a good part of it figured out in standard tuning, but it sounds like
it's in "g" tuning or something. thanks.

even though i have only been on the list for a few months, i have to
agree with seth on his clarification with the caryn and shroom mix-up.
think about it people. if you work at a job for a long time, of course
you are going to have more clout than someone who is just starting. i
would certainly expect my superiors (as vaporous as they tend to be) to
allow me a little more leeway than i would an employee i just hired. if
this thread already died. . .my apologies.

thanks for the reply on the "sommscovers" site, Seth! a question
though: how do we get a track to you for posting? do i somehow feed it
into my pc or do i send a tape or do i sing it to you over the phone?
if i just need to look at something in my computer to find out, please
forgive my ignorance.

scariest soundgarden song? 4th of july gets it for me
				thought it was the end?

creepiest soundgarden clip?	"every word i said is what i mean"
when chris sings this in a lower register, i get chills

btw, is sub pop 200 worth the $16 that my local come-a-lot store is
charging?
i found the set-list on the sg site, but i was just wanting personal
opinions!

thanks!

to the fan club do you make the check out to "Soundgarden" or "Knights

There are two ways we can go about this. Either way, I think we should
make a compilation cassette. We could have a Web page with just short
samples of the covers on it or we could do the full-length tracks as
RealAudio or MP3 files. Either way is fine with me, but I'd like some
help. In other words, I don't want to make all the sound clips from
the cassette -- it would be great if people could make their own clips
using their computers and then email or FTP them to me (I can provide
FTP accounts for anyone who prefers this option).

The easiest way to make clips is to first record your song onto
cassette and then plug your cassette deck into your sound card (or
audio port, if you're using a Mac or UNIX box) -- there should be
sound recorder applets already on your computer.

Hello everyone!!! Well, I went a little crazy on a SG shopping spree, and
failed to realize that I had purchased two copies of the Black Hole Sun 7
inch picture disc. I'm feeling very generous and thought I would give it
to someone who would like it, and who hopefully doesn't already have it.
Anyone who's interested email me privately at: jkern@speakeasy.org. If
several people would like it, I'll draw names. Email me by this Tuesday
and I'll announce who will recieve it on Wednesday.
Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Subject: The sexiest SG songs.

Well, the Good Word of Soundgarden is an ever growing and changing book.
There's always new installments as the years pass. But I have some songs
that I think are sexy in their own ways.

If you open up the book of Ultramega OK and find track 11, you'll come upon
the song of Head Injury. I find Chris' voice very sexy when he says "You
got a kiss for me, sweet and frail. You got a fist for me, sure to impale.
My hand on my head, your words are like arrows. My hand on my head, my mind
growing narrow," in a monotone voice. Very nice.

If you look in the same book and track 12, you'll see Incessant Mace. This
song is very swanky and sexy, due to the music and once again, Chris' voice.

Now, please open up the book of Superunknown and find track 12. This is
Fresh Tendrils. When Chris sings "If it sits upon your tongue or naked in
your eye" all I can say is "Chris, you would be the "it" in question!!!!"

We'll now carry on to the book of Down On The Upside, track 11. This would
be Tighter & Tighter. The lyrics "Tight and deep. One last sin before I'm
dead. A sucking holy wind will take me from this bed tonight" and "And I
hope it's a sweet ride here for me tonight" are very sexual.

Please stay in the same book and go on to track 14. This will bring us to
Overfloater. I think the bass and the Rhodes piano are very sexy in this
song. I find the overall sound of the song to be very mischievious.

Well, those are my picks for the sexiest SG songs. They're in no particular
order. Please obey the Good Word of Soundgarden.

May Soundgarden be with you.

Rebekah

Subject: Cash video

I saw the funniest thing on tv today. I walked into the living room, and
heard the familiar words of Rusty Cage. (It's very important that you
know that I heard before I saw.) Well, I found this very strange (all of
this was going thru my head in about half a second) because the voice
was not that of The Holy One, but of someone else, very different from
Chris. Yea, if you haven't figured it out already, it was the Johnny
Cash version of Rusty Cage. I guess I was so surprised because I had NO
idea he had made a video for the song. It was pretty much just Mr. Cash
singing in a studio. Not much else, although I do believe that Tom Petty
is playing guitar (I swear it looked just like him.)in the video.
Anyway, it was really funny because I hadn't listened to the song yet on
Lance's (what a man, that Lance) tapes, so it was a complete surprise. A
good one though. I just kept wondering what Chris' face must have looked
like when he first heard it... :) Later, luv Margret
*I wonder what Ben thought of it*
