Thought I'd let everyone know about the latest info re the 6 pak tour ep.

I spoke to Polygram records today, and they told me that the disk will be
released in Australia on Monday January 13.

They seemed to think that they were expecting quite a few of them, so, with
any luck, they're right (for once) and they'll be fairly available.

So, all of you that want copies, start brainstorming for various reliable
and extraordinarily quick methods of delivering money, gifts and gratuities,
and start mailing us in Aust.

I know some members of the list are in bands. Would there be any

member's bands do SG, but maybe that's just me... I was just wondering

as much as i truly hate to admit it, and i do cause mr apple was a little
prick...i think his interpretation of black hole sun and the dude who
interpreted drawing flies to have the best interpretations thus far of both
songs...i think a lot more song writing than anyone cares to admit is
motivated by sexual activities...its just more convenient to explain it away

Well I just managed to work my way through my mail after two glorious weeks

any here in Sydney, I imagine Utopia will have some. I'll let the list know
once Ive been in and see how my finances can hold up.
Caroline, apparently Utopia also has the SG calendar, will it did have just
before Xmas, I was kinda hoping to get one for my birthday, which despite
many hints, I did NOT. I'll go and check if they still have any and let you
know. I also had to decide whether to trek to Melbourne for SG but decided
three times in one week was all my credit card could take, only three weeks
to go, YAY!

Subject: Fairfax video comments

Hey List!

Just wanted to comment on the Fairfax video since my copy arrived today (/me
waves and stocks fridge).

Um, two word review for the attention span impaired is...not bad.

Notes: There should be a bootlegging class for these amateur video people.
Why can't some of them be bad film school drop outs. They suck! The camera
is always outta focus and they always seem to be playing with some new toy
they found on the camcorder :-) Ohhhhh look at me use the zoom ;-)

Those that get their mits on a copy right now...will get a fairly low gen
copy that, isn't bad, quality wise. I've seen much much worse. The audio
is excellent on a mono tv and the video is clear for a boot. The camera
person, well that's an entire other story ;-) The price of $20 is
average...but if you're smart. You'll hook up with a group and save some
dough. ;-)

The shot is stage right with close ups of Matt, Kim and Chris. Ben makes
some appearances...but generally he isn't the focus of the video.

The show, um...was ok. If you thought they were good at this show...you
need to see them *on*. They can be *incredible*. From my
experiences...this show was decent. Chris's voice, which I judge the shows
on besides set lists...was held back...a lot. He didn't have the range that
i've heard before...even from the Toronto, Detroit or Salt Lake City shows
this year. I did notice that his voice gained more range and control
towards the end...but he couldn't hit any of the high notes during "Slaves
and Bulldozers" :-( I was disappointed they didn't play "Search and
Destroy"...but there is a new unknown cover song during the middle of slaves
that I gotta figure out ;-)

As far as the songs...I still love the "Helter Skelter" segue into "Boot
Camp". That's Great! After almost 8 months of listening to this
album...the only tracks that I still listen to are the 'slower' ones. They
don't feel contrived or forced like some of the 'hits'. I'm hoping Zero
Chance is the next single. Or maybe Boot Camp, Overfloater or Tighter and
Tighter ;-)

No, they're better than 'just a band.' They're... GOD. Hmmm... I wish
I'd logged last night's "Chris Cornell is GOD" chat. That was good stuff.
;-) Especially after the chanting started, and the list thug had passed out

to deify someone that they don't like or think is appropriate. Even if you
say "Chris Cornell is *MY* God"... they still don't like it. I'm not
speaking about Mood Druid... so no one freak out on me. ;-) I'm talking

Caryn: "Look girls, it's LTL on red vinyl... and for only $25! I already
have this... do either of you want it?"
D & S: "Memememe!! No me! Meeee!!"
- - Caryn gets tackled to the floor in the SiCA's attempts to get it. Shroom
miraculously lays her hands on it first.
Shroom: "Woohoo!! I got it I got it I got it!!" :::boogies:::
Dena (thinking fast) "Hey look! It's CHRIS CORNELL!"
- - Shroom drops the vinyl in order to swing up the everpresent video camera.
Shroom: "Where?!?!? Chris?!? Where's he at?!? Is he wearing a shirt??
 Chrissss!!?!?"
- - Dena snatches up the vinyl and streaks down the aisle to the cash register
with it. Shroom finally remembers that Chris isn't even in the US at the
moment, and jumps on top of Dena to get the vinyl back. The ensuing fight
gets them arrested, and Caryn banned from going into another music store in
the state of Washington EVER.

Ummm... just kidding Caryn. We'll be good. Promise. ;-) And thanks!

ones in Bismark. It's my own personal theory that Soundgarden has never set
foot in the state... what do you think, Bill? ;-) I'll bet SG has been
almost everywhere else in the world... except for the pit known as North
Dakota. I'll bet they've never been to NEBRASKA either (which is almost as
bad as ND, but not quite. No offense to any Nebraska SOMMSters, of course.)
Just kidding! Everyone has to go to Nebraska at least once in their life.
It's like some kind of unwritten law, or something. Only my personal
thoughts, kiddies. ;-) Yeah, I'm babbling.

that Soundgarden's first album wasn't Badmotorfinger. "Like, I love that
Seattle grunge music, man... Like, Nirvana was the first band from Seattle,
man... Like, Kurt Cobain, man." Maybe I've been spending too much time on
AOL. ;-)

ok. . .i'm a little confused. i have two questions about the video for
bhs. this may be rehashed material, but i need to get some sleep.

1.	during the scene with the lady and the baby carriage. . .the woman
looks into the carriage and is screaming while lightning flashes in the
black sky. i seem to think that i remember something black and
gelatinous floating out of the carriage. it reminds me of the
water-creature in "the abyss", only the thing in the video was black. i
first noticed that it wasn't there on the "alive in the superunknown"
cd+ video for bhs, but i thought that it was due to the resolution on my
monitor. then i got the "hello...we are soundgarden" video the other
day, and still the same thing. hmmm...

2.	when the "glamour girl" is laying on the chaise lounge by the pool, i
thought that she flicked out a long lizardlike tongue to grab some sort
of insect from above her. when i recently watched the video, it only
shows a close-up of her mouth opening, and her normal size tongue coming
out.

3.	was the video for bhs edited for mtv? if so, what was cut out?

everyone rush to their tv and/or computer and check this out. i hope
that i'm not going completely insane. i prefer my insanity in small,
easy to manage amounts. anyone's input on this thing would be great!

tanx.

the neil young list has produced over 4 tapes of list members covering
neil young (i don't care if you hate him, this isn't about that, it's the
concept). in fact, they made a 'box set' of the tapes last year and
presented them to neil's son last summer. ;-)

wouldn't it be cool if we could do the same? the web site might be a
stretch, considering seth has such space constraints lately (*ahem*) and
has enough trouble getting sg stuff up... but the idea is cool! are there
enough people to do this???

hey, how about the night on IRC where we all mass dcc'd copies of a photo
of matt with a rather prominent, erm, bulge. it got so bad that even seth
was getting disgusted... until vince changed the /topic to something i
will not mention in public (hey, who logged that night????)

unfortunately the photo in questino was just a play of light and shadow,
but if you go to the images archive on seth's site and look at photo #6 or
so (the second cherry lane photo), you *will* see, erm, the space needle.
(and of course, thanks to seth and his roommate for pointing that out).

hey, i cleared out the store on sunday of anything even remotely
interesting, knowing i would have to battle you two. the last time i was
there with stuff to sell (this summer), i was standing there with my stuff
(and it was BOXES and BOXES, i think i netted like $250 that time) chris
made a beeline for the sg section and got a copy of 'pretty noose' on
colored vinyl and anything else worthy of taking. beaten out of sg stuff
by my own boyfriend... and he's still living, and we're still welcome in
the store ;-)

> Ummm... just kidding Caryn. We'll be good. Promise. ;-) And thanks!

that wouldn't be any fun, now would it??? just don['t park yer damn car in
pioneer square again, okay???

okay, so i should have added "and psychotics". hell, my mother wouldn't
even refer to them as 'grunge'. ;->

that's an incredibly generous offer for her, i'd like you to take me over
