You know, I really agree with you. I feel like I'm not a complete fan,
unless I have something to do with the band. I guess giving all your
friends Christmas gifts all soundgarden related might be something, or
purposly putting them in your zine might also be something, but I know
exactly where you're comming from. I think the fan club needs work, and the
just can't see that. I think the regional thing might work. I consider
myself the rep. of a couple cities in NJ. I run this small thing called the
East Coast Knights. Most of the people aren't as tottaly in to SG like me,
but are in some part, fans. I'm not even a member of KOTS just because of
the lack of orginization. I know I'm going to end up becoming a member
before the next year is over, but it needs something more.

hi, my name is shawn. i read the letters from kathie and mind riot.i
just wanted to say a few things. i've been through a lot, and i know
what its like when music all thats there for you. although i've been a
soundgarden fan for awhile, this summer at lollapalooza was my first
time to see them in concert. it was amazing, the concert was great it
was loud, and just so hyped up. then they got ready to play blackhole
sun, an it was like a hush fell over the crowd, it wasnt silent, just
quieter than before. the song was all acoustic, in fact, i think chris
was the only one playing, the others were back far enough you see them.
the point is, (as corny as you may think this sounds) it was one the
most beautiful things i ever saw or heard, and it really moved me. i
wish there was some way i could give something back too. i'm only 17,
and i know there probably isnt much i would be able to do, but anything
would mean so much. well if any thing, thanks for listening. and if any
body feels so compelled, fell free to write me at:

Hey guys,
I have had quite the interesting few days. I was visiting a
friend in Syracuse, NY, and while wandering through the city we stumbled
upon a new/used CD store called "The Sound Garden" - now, if this wasn't
weird enough, I not only found Louder Than Live, but SOMMS, for $9.95!
My heart almost stopped. When I got to the "used" bin, I thought I'd
check out the "S" section for a whim, and almost died when I noticed that
the copy of BMF I had in my hand was the actually 2 CD set! For $10!!!
I picked up the LTL video for about $12. In a store called "The Sound
Garden". Too freaking weird to be true, but I am just ecstatic over
having my own copy of SOMMS! Merry Christmas to me!

Happy Holidays to everyone,

As I was just sitting here finishing my UVA application, I was listening
to Smokestack Lightning and I hear Sonic Youth's "Death Valley 69"
garbled and distorted at the end of the song. What's up with this? Am I
just behind or what?
Anyway, I'd be really interested in hearing information on this.
Thanks,
Chris
