I was wondering the same thing. I stayed up the whole night. The only
thing I saw Sg related was the little station ID thing that Kim and Chris
did. And then Matt Pinfield said the video should come on shortly. Well I
waited and waited and I never saw it. I must have blinked or something.

Center show on 11/20...

Yes, there is one in the works. Jamie and I have been talking about a
pre-concert tailgate somewhere near the Patriot Center. If anyone can
suggest a good patch of grass or nice parking area, please do.

Now for the sign-up. If you are interested in being part of the party,
please e-mail me. Please include your real name and your email address, and
I will happily add you to the guest list. I'll make details on the party

Ahm... I'm afraid this is not all correct. Ament and Gossard were

happen to check out Chris's "interview" by many of his fans on MTV

read it. For those who haven't, I thought it was pretty funny. As many
Chris interviews that I've seen or read, he always has this ironic, funny
side. For example:

TARALLE: What do you like to do while on tour when you are not playing?
SOUNDGRDNx(Chris Cornell):	Songwriting, snowboarding, and black market
baby selling.
AMANDA560:	Hey baby!! wanna Wrestle????
SOUNDGRDNx:	I'll kick your ass!!!
PROBATON:	Do you believe in Hell?]
SOUNDGRDNx:	Yes, I think it's Pittsburgh. You gotta give Cleveland a
break every once in awhile.

It goes on with interesting questions, facts, etc.

A couple of people have already voiced opinions on this wonderful
topic....so I thought I'd add a few cents worth too. (hey, UK Deb, what
would it be for you--pence? I still like figuring out lira! <grin>)

Quite simply, I agree w/ what Dylan wrote. I hate moshing and crowd
surfing. It's the most useless, most senseless thing I've ever encountered,
and, might I add, the most dangerous. For years I was isolated from the
real concert world b/c I was into YES and was going to those shows, where
you'll find people bowing a worshipping, but that's it. My first intro to
moshing was at a Jesus Jones show, I kid you not. Yeah, I mean a techno
band from the UK, the group that did "Right Here, Right Now". We were right
up front, but b/c of the moshing and the idiots who were crowd surfing, I
hardly got to actually see the show. Since that time, we've been at other
shows and have put up w/ this stuff and it's simply NOT FUN. If anyone on
the list is into moshing and crowd surfing, I think we'd all like to hear
from you, you know, hear your side of why you think you have to do something
like that, why you think it's so cool. There's nothing cool about hurting
other people, or getting yourself hurt if the crowd drops you (or if you get
near me b/c I'm nasty about it anymore!).

I was caught in the mosh pit at a Sg show once and it was frightening, plain
and simple. I was alone, I got knocked down and I couldn't breath nor could
I get up. That's not how I want to remember a concert!

Smashing Pumpkins just banned crowd surfing at their shows, and I applaud
them. It's time for concert goers to remember that there are other people
there who may actually want to listen to the music and NOT end up w/ bruises
and swollen bumps where some idiot's boot kicked them. If any of this
sounds a tad on the nasty side, you're right, it is b/c to date, I think
this is one of the most ludicrous things any generation has come up with!

Thanks fer listening, fellow listers. Should we take a vote? Make it an
informal survey? Anyone wanting to vote for or against moshing/surfing,
I'll volunteer to keep tally....

you might be thinking about the (possibly) upcoming mad season
record that may or may not be out early next year sometime, and which may
also involve some members of soundgarden.

but if the station *was* talking about a temple of the dog
project, I don't think it would take the same form as the group that came
together in 1991. the events that led to that album's release were pretty
singular, and I think it is fairly likely that none of the members want to
go down that path again. while we would all drool over any new release by
totd as they were, in the end the original album wouldn't quite so
special. quite a few people have asked whether there is a chance of them
coming back together, and every time chris answers that there is little to
no chance of that happening.

perhaps they were talking about (as I said earlier) a new mad
season record, or the conversation regarded the *excellent* cover of 'hey
baby' by m.a.c.c on the _stone free_ (jimi hendrix tribute) album? do
either of those ring a bell, dan?

well, I agree that 'big bottom' is truly the epitome of butt rock.
but I still love it. the version of same on _this is boston, not seattle_
is *great*, especially matt's drum intro. and no matter how cheesy the
lyrics are (shades of big dumb sex?), the line "how can I leave this

with regards to the recent thread on female soundgarden fans, I
wonder if many female listers are offended in any way (but primarily in a
lyrical sense, I guess) by songs like big bottom or big dumb sex? not
that I think you are all fragile, but these songs are generally viewed as
demeaning to women. in this case, however, I'm not so sure.

Subject: A collection of B-sides

Hey listers,

As some of you already know, I am in the process of putting together about 2
1/2 - 3 hours of Soundgarden B-sides and rareities (Stuff that isn't included
on the Six main releases- Screaming Life, Fopp, Ultramega OK, Louder than
Love, BMF, SuperUK, & DOTU).

Anyway, I figured as long as I'm going to do it for a few of us, I'd open the
offer to whoever on the SOMMS list is interested. (Granted, there's some
stuff I don't have, like Homicidal Suicidal, I Can't Give You Anything, &
Can you See Me, But hell, I'm trying!)

I thought it would be cool to have them all in one place for easy listening
pleasure!

Anyway, I'm going to wait to get ALL versions of BUTOW, so I can include
whatever B-sides are on there, then I'll finish putting together the
collection)

The play list as for now will be:

Kyle Petty Son of Richard
Fell on Black Days (Demo Version)
Blind Dogs
Flutter Girl
Black Cat
Spoonman (Remix)
Birth Ritual (Demo)
Karoke
Bleed Together
Like Suicide (Acoustic)
Cold Bitch
Hey Baby (Land of the Rising Sun) by M.A.C.C.
Right Turn by Alice Mudgarden (hey, it's Chris, OK)
Seasons
Big Dumb Sex (Remix)
She's a Politician
Show Me
H.I.V. Baby
Birth Ritual (from Singles)
Fell on Black Days (Video Version)
Jerry Garcia's Fingers
Heretic
Sub Pop Rock City
Fresh Deadly Roses
Motor Cycle Loop
Come Together
Toy box
Into the Void (Sealth)
Girl U Want
Stray Cat Blues
She Likes Surprises

If any SOMMSters are interested let me know & I'll that I ask is that you pay
for postage and the blank tape and I'll make copies for everyone interested!

>>with regards to the recent thread on female soundgarden fans, I
wonder if many female listers are offended in any way (but primarily in a
lyrical sense, I guess) by songs like big bottom or big dumb sex? not
that I think you are all fragile, but these songs are generally viewed as
demeaning to women. in this case, however, I'm not so sure.

good question, justin.....being a female and a lister, i will
answer..... i am not offended at all. maybe because i know it is a
parody on the appropriately-named butt rock, maybe cuz i know the band
themselves must think that stuff is rude, maybe cuz they couldn't
offend me if they tried (tho i wouldnt mind them trying ;-) and maybe
because music is a free form of expression.......

Hey everyone,

I just got this reply on a query I sent regarding some strange SG interview
disc. Has anyone seen this before? Worth buying? Can anyone shed some light
on EXACTLY which interview this is ? Thanks!

Neither. It is a new CD by a company called Rockview,
contains a picture CD, mini poster, liner notes and a guitar pick.

YES! Me, me, ME! I remember when I brought home my brand new Screaming =
