OK, granted this is kind of a wierd thread

BUT

If there was ever a movie made about SG, who would play the parts of Chris,
Kim, Matt, Ben, Hiro, Susan etc? How about other Seattle bands (i.e.
Nirvana, Mother Love Bone, Screaming Trees, Tad,) You can't make a movie
about SG and not talk about theri influence on the Seattle scene.

Just a wierd ponderance.

this has been pointed out recently, but i just want to reiterate: the
mailing list has an irc channel, #somms, which can be accessed via any
undernet server. it is not registered, and that's the way we like it,
so it might not automatically appear in your list of channels, but if
you join it and people are in there, there you go.

in the past there were some regulars there, but i haven't seen anyone
the last few times i've checked.

on another note, there is a private mailing list section of the
unofficial soundgarden homepage. if you follow the 'mailing list' link
(or go to www.sgi.net/soundgarden/archive/), you'll find a password
entry box at the bottom of the page. the password is [omitted -seth] -
enter that and click the 'go' button and you'll be whisked away to our

Subject: Soundgarden tickets in Seattle
From: nadia <nadia@novaproj.org>

I am in a huge fincial bind and I will be unable to purches tickets to
the 2 Soundgarden shows here in Seattle :( This upsets me very much and
no one I know is able to loan me the money (they're all poor). I've
asked everyone I know, and no one can help. And since I know that a
couple dozen of you will be buying tickets to the shows here in Seattle I
was wondering if anyone would like to buy an extra ticket to each of the
2 show in Seattle with the intention of me paying them for it in about 3
weeks? (you would be in possesion of the ticket till I gave you the money
of course) I would appericiate it greatly. This is my last chance to try
to get tickets somehow or else I'll be one of those people standing
outside with a sign asking desperatly for a ticket (for crazy prices). I
don't want it to come to that cause it sucks (I've done it before). I
know I dont post and I may seem like some stranger but I have to go to
those shows and I'm desperate. If anyone could help i'd love you to
death. Hope you all understand (that I'm not some crazy freak, just wanna
see soundgarden). If you have any sugestions please send 'em to me...

Hey I've been told that it should be spelled "Y'LL" that you are not
saying YA ALL but U ALL. So according to an English major you just drop
the ou. But I'd be lower than a snakes belly if I didn't bow to The List

ummm.........I mean, since this is an interesting thread ;), I decided to

I'd really like to see Chris record a duet with one of his siblings from IS
(Peter, Suzy, Katy). I've never actually heard them sing, but they're supposed
to be really good; I think his sisters do the back-up vocals in IS.

Anyways, I thought it'd be really nice if he sang with some members of
his family, since most of them are in a band as well :)

I called Yodeling Pig on Monday, 10/14 and got someone right away, and
ordered the $20 version of the disc. Guy said "all of the $25 discs were
sold already". Um, and so I had just assumed that he had several copies of
each (I hadn't had my coffee yet).  Anyway, it's 10/25 and I haven't
recieved anything from them yet, although they have taken out of my account
the $24.50 it ended up costing.

Kate

A few weeks ago, someone on the list (Vasant?) mentioned that Yodelling Pig
Records (or something like that) had two copies of SOMMS on hand. Well,
I've been pestering them ever since. Seems all I ever got was an answering
machine saying they'd get back to me. They finally did call back yesterday,
but they said they'd already sold both copies.

So... where did those copies go? Anyone out there in SOMMS land get one (or
both) from the Yodelling Pig guys?

so that's TWO DATES, *9:00 AM*. (melissa etheridge tix go on sale at 10,
that's why it's not at 10).

for those of you who haven't been to Mercer Arena before, GET GA TICKETS.
the reserved tickets are waaaay up high and you can't go into the GA
section. (i know other venues do it differently, but here it's done this
way).

If you go to an outlet, you should be fine. I wouldn't recommend calling
for this one. There are outlets at Tower Records (Mercer, Udist,
Bellevue), Westlake Center, and Blockbuster Music on Capitol Hill. (There
are probably others -- these are the ones I know of).

I have a great topic that some people will get fired up about...mosh
pits. I had a great time at Lollapalooza this summer, but the people
who had to start a pit (especially for the songs played on MTV) were
the shittiest thing I had to put up with all day. Most people who
mosh could just as easily go off to a room somewhere and destroy each
other to a Silverchair tape or something. I would never suggest that
nobody "get their groove on," but DON'T RUIN THE CONCERT FOR OTHER
PEOPLE BY BEATING THE FUCK OUT OF THEM! There is NOTHING I hate more
than not being able to see a band because all I can see is the floor
or some fucker's boot in my face. GROW UP. Enjoy the music and the
musicians on stage. There is no excuse for hurting other people.

 We're here in Seattle, and we actually get along in person! No fist fights
as of yet, but we'll keep you posted on it. Haven't met anyone else yet, but
we will tonight. IF WE COULD DECIDE WHERE WE'RE MEETING AT!!! <hint hint>
 Heheheh...

SHROOM: Dena's checked her mail, and she's really glad that everyone is
liking their SOMMS shirts and hats. Personally, I love the hat. I even like
it better than my 'SG' hat. Anyway, we're about to go out and invade the
city. First stop, Silver Mgmt. NO, we're not going inside! (I don't want
Susan to freak out and rip all my hair out. Meeting Matt and Ben bald would
kinda suck...)  <kisskiss>

DENA: HEY!!!! WE are FINALLY here!!!! ( look out SEATTLE!!) Yes, Shroom and I
are getting along in person....but she better watch out cuz if she makes me
mad then I will have to rip all that hair out.... but hey she has one of the
new SOMMS hats so she shouldnt be worried!!!~~~ only kidding!! We really are
having a great time!!! well I'd better go now.....It seems that SOUNDGARDEN
wants to play Hide N Seek.

"OHHHH...... Soundgarden  WHERE ARE YOU???????"
     ~~~ Dena and Shroom~~
"We're closer than you think, Dena and Shroom... catch us if you can!!  And
bring the whipped cream!!" ~ Soundgarden
 (Words not necessarily said in that order...)  <~~~ our disclaimer
Note from Dena to Brydon:  What's the name of the Tumbleweed CD that "Circus
Freak" and "Jupiter" is on?
lately, well- the past two days, i have really srtuck SG gold. i
managed to scrounge a copy of the CD version of Louder than Live for
$40. it's GREAT!! I love it! and i also recieved yesterday in the
mail my BIMH single. it's the box one with the free poster. Bleed
Together is one hell of a song, i took a liking to this from the
opening "thud thud" of matt before the guitars kick in. honestly, i
expected a slow, swirling song. the lyrics decieved me. but i LOVE it.
 and today i recieved my SOMMS shirt!!! oh happy day! it's great
dena!! i love it thanks so much! i have it on now! i'm gonna go show
it off! :)
 now to acquire the copies of Motorvision and LTLive, and i'm set for
Subject: RE: Soundgarden Digest, Friday, 25 Oct 1
I was wondering if anyone who still had Thursday's digest could email it to
me, as I never got it...
I discovered a new record store in my new neighborhood called Crow's Nest
(in the Chicago Loop) and it's motto is that it's for "collectors".  I
finally found a place that sells import and single CDs!  I picked up the
Burden In My Hand single (not the part 2 of 2, but just the regular one)
 and Songs From the Superunknown.  Jerry Garcia's Finger is way cool!  So is
She Likes Surprises, which sounds reminiscent of Applebite (or vice versa)
to me ... The acoustic version of Like Suicide actually made me cry.  Can't
believe I'm confessing this to 600+ odd listers (and I do mean 'odd' in a
friendly way)!  If there's anything that can make me feel, its animals...
A question:  anyone know whose teeth that might be inside the BIMH single?
 I'm just wondering who would be game enough to have their teeth shot like
that.  I thought it was pretty funny...
Ciao!
Got my hat and tees today.  GREAT JOB DENA!!!  You really are the
blessed SOMMS Goddess.  They look great.  Now I'm debating whether to
debut one tonight, tomorrow at Game Six of the World Series
(GO YANKS!), or if I wait until Nov 15, first of three dates at
Roseland.  Hmmmm, decisions, decisions.
Also, since I am attending all three shows, I suppose I should keep
track of who is going, when, and where we shouild meet.  I'm gonna
send my pic to Seth tomorrow so he can put it up on "The Site".
bout the coolest thing ive seen at a concert was "the pit"  was *behind*
where the bulk of the audience was...so the dumb fucks that were only there
for the violence could have their fun and the real fans that were their for
the music could just enjoy the music...
and as a recent recipient of a concusion from lollapolooza and a size 12 doc
marten to the head, i totally agree that mosh pits suck...
Alright, alright....
I am holding 9 tickets for Soundgarden at Crosby Hall November 30th in
my hot little hands right now. I kid you not..I sure wish Ticketmaster
knew what the hell they were doing, or hire people who knew what they
were talking about....
Last night I was told by 2 different TM people, that NO SG show in SD
was going on sale this weekend. So, I get online into TM website...and
do a search by Performer, then Venue, then by Date. Nothing!
Ok..Ok...so I wake up this morning...and I call again ...and TM still
tells me "No...nothing for SG in SD. Then I get online, and I get word
that they are going to go on sale this weekend by other sourses....so
back to the phone I go, and call TM. STILL, they tell me no. I am
scratching my head at this point...but, I am a very determined
woman..so I keep calling, until finally at 11:00am someone tells me
something that I want to hear, like "YES....ummmmm they go on sale
today at noon." Dahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
Anyway...Those of you who planned on going to the SG show in San Diego,
and asked me to get you tickets...it's now a done deal. (you know who
you are) Thank God that's over.....
Hey there,
	I don't normally post too much on the list, I guess i'm one of
the quiet ones, but moshing is something that I have a strong opinion
about.  I admit, jumping around to some of the harder songs is fun, but
when people just full out run into each other and hit each other, that's
when things get out of hand.  I saw lollapalooza this summer and it
wasn't too bad there.  i mean there were the usual high, drunk assholes
who don't know any of the songs and were hitting people, but it really
wasn't too bad.  But I saw Pearl jam at randall's island, and it was
crazy.  I was downright scared.  People were literaly crying, and begging
to be pulled out of the pit.  And the crowdsurfers were another problem.
Every 5 minutes I would get a boot in the head.  It was annoying.  It's
hard to enjoy a show with people hitting you from all angles.  I guess
what I'm trying to say is that it's ok to move around a bit, but moshing
seriously needs to stop, so does crowdsurfing.  I thought i heard
somewhere that Soundgarden doesn't allow moshing or crowdsurfing at the
concerts anymore.  Is this true?  I know that Smashing Pumpkins and some
other bands don't allow moshing anymore, hopefully Soundgarden will
follow their lead.  Later,
Sachin
