Hey, speaking of Godzilla and SG, isn't that Godzilla on the Screaming
Life 12" label??? I also remember someone saying that Godzilla is in
the video for Flower or something... I could be way off on this one
though...

Hey Guys--

This is Laura in DC peeping up for the second time. I love Fresh Tendrils
too--it was one of the screen names i tried, but it was already taken! i did
sign on as OldTendril briefly but decided against it.

I got my Soundgarden tix in the mail the other day for the Patriot show. I
am still psyched to meet you guys there. :-) Please let me know the plan when
you have one.

This is a very active list--since signing on a few weeks ago, this is the
first time that I caught up on all the mail! I particularly liked the
European Tour Diary--very vividly written.

By the way, you guys might already know this, but back issues are available
of Alternative Press. Soundgarden was on the cover in March of 1994. I
bought 4 issues for only $14.00--good deal. The best way to get copies (that
I know of) is to buy a current AP issue and send back the back-issue page
with your check.

In closing let me just say that every time I listen to DOTUS it reveals
something new to me. At first I didn't think I could love it as much as
SuperUnknown, but it is truly brilliant.

Can't wait for November 20th--only one month from today!

Overfloating in DC,
laura

Does anyone know when Mercer Arena SG tickets go on sale??? KISW said
10:00 on Saturday, and 107.7 just said 9:00. Does anyone know the correct
time? 10:00 sounds right to me, but I'd like to know for sure...

From: endless_nameless@prodigy.com (GRRL NIKI FREER)
Subject: loves his little boys...

guys, this is how i intrepret the lyrics to "Beyond The Wheel." if
you think any different or care to share what you think too, feel
free to post. but you knew that already...

i think that "Beyond the wheel" is about a family that lives in
poverty, possibly on some run-down farm in the middle of no where.
"mother who's yr man, is he doing what he can...ect." means the
mother has to stay home all the time cause she had like 4 kids, poss.
3 of them boys and the other one a few years after the last boy and
it's only a tiny baby. "tiny little pawn" could mean that the baby is
just doomed totally because it's either not a boy, therefore it won't
be properly taken care of by the father, or the whole household is
starving to death and she'll go first because she's so young. "in the
profit gain" is the father taking advantage and wasting any type of
income that the family gets from the farm, which is very little...
"shows them how to kill" hmm, that's tough. it could mean that he's
teaching them to be just like him and "kill" their future wives the
same way he is "killing" his own. "driving flesh and blood, deep into
the ground" driving the character traits of the "father, mighty man"
into the older boys minds (aka "the ground") so they'll become just
like him. "the wheel" is the cycle that keeps on going. this was the
same with the father's father, and the boys will do the same to thier
children. it's like child abuse...it keeps on going in the family, it
doesn't break unless someone breaks it for themselves. maybe that's
the person that is "far beyond the wheel." but the wheel "steers yr
life around" which means what i just said about it being like child
abuse. "overturning other stones...to save his precious stars..."
hmmm, i'm really reaching for this one... he, the father, wants how
he is to be preserved and carried on with his offspring's actions and
lives? does that sound right?

mind riot

Alright,

In answer to Shroom's question, I wasn't counting my bribe money, I was out
spending it.

Now, getting down to business. When someone flames you in PRIVATE email, you
don't flame them back on the list. That just shows poor judgement. Not to
mention the annoyance factor. So, if you want to discuss this further, do so
amongst yourselves, it's not a list matter, it's a PERSONAL matter.

Someone else asked when Soundgarden tix went on sale for the Mercer Arena
here in Seattle. They go on sale at 9:00am at all Ticketbastard outlets.

This has been a message from you friendly SOMMS Sheriff.

Hey fellow SOMMSters...

A good friend of mine interns at A & M records and guess what he
presented to me today? A copy of DOTU on vinyl, labeled "For Promotional
Use only, not for sale", also marked with a limted edition sticker...but
the best part is, it had been autographed by Chris, Matt, and Ben! The
vinyl is black, and not clear, and I was wondering if someone could clear
up for me what really is limited edition and what is not...I bought a
copy of DOTU earlier this summer on vinyl, but this one is a treasure
anyways, having been signed by God himself and his fellow coherts.. (he
he heh) I know this was already discussed but I was hoping someone could
clear it up for me again...

Whoever is keeping track, I found my 2nd copy of SOMMS ($60 still sealed

So now our list has only to find the remaining 99,960(?) copies.
