I Just came acroess this band bio from IMusic. This band has three of
Chris's siblings. Hbs anyone heard of them?

INFLATABLE SOULE

   [INLINE] by Miss Molly

"They are not, however, your typical alternative band.
Seattle-based Inflatable Soule is a six-piece rock band featuring
singer/guitarist Peter Cornell, guitarist Joel Tipke, bassist Bert
Byerly, drummer/percussionist Dave Hill, flutist/vocalist Katy Cornell
and vocalist/percussionist Suzy Cornell. Drawing inspiration from such
diverse bands as the Eagles, The Allman Brothers and Toad the Wet
Sprocket, Inflatable Soule's sound is described as a cross between
alternative, folk, progressive, classic pop and rock. The band has
released an 8-song CD, So Sad, and have plans to embark on a West
Coast tour this fall. (And yes - you guessed it - Peter, Katy and Suzy
are all siblings of You Know Who.)

hey listers....summer break is over (all four months of it) and since my
vacation from the list i have moved to seattle and i plan on taking full
advantage of my new close proximity to matt, ben, chris and kim. in the
last digest, someone asked about the SG shows in the area (seattle, that
is) and they are to be on december 11th and 12th, according to the
website. i would like to hear from those who plan on attending, perhaps
we can arrange some pre and post show gathering...who knows, we may even
have shirts! (thanks for nothing, nothingdick)....i missed that whole
drama this summer, but i get the general idea of what happened...:(
during the summer i was lucky enough to see SG for the first time at
Lolla (irvine meadows, last show of the tour) and they opened with
Spoonman. a strange choice to be sure....closed with JCP....a religious
experience, pardon the pun...also, cj from the ramones accompanied the
boys on "ty cobb" after chris rambled on about how 'this was the kind of
song CJ inspired them to write' or something like that...
interested on hearing from other rain city locals about heading out to
some local shows....would like to get to the OK for hater on halloween....
adios,

Hey List!

Comments on the BiMH single that finally showed up today.

1. Excellent Packaging. I love the sky blue motif. And the single tree
in the desert theme is very cool. But what's up with the childish
handwriting? Reminds me of the handwriting in the Jeremy vid.

2. Karaoke - I now know why it was a b-side. It's ok....nothing special.

3. Bleed Together - Should of made the album. Excellent uptempo single
that will fit right into the 5 part mockopera "Lick my lovepump" ;-)

I. Drawing Flies
II. Kickstand
III. Face Pollution
IV. Ty Cobb
V. Bleed Together

4. Interesting little CC interview. Maybe the official site will do a
real audio thing with it? Oh wait, that will mean *updating* the page.

5. The interviewer during the CC bit has a most excellent last name :-)

6. To the person who will eventually start up a "I have number ___ of the

Subject: DOTU

I must admit, DOTU is my least favorite SG album. This may sound strange, but
it seemed like they were trying too hard keep the album from seeming slick
and overproduced. Of course, that would be an admirable goal, but it seems
forced somehow. On UMOK, Screaming Life there is the same raw, energetic
quality, but it is effortless, as though they were not often conciously
thinking about the end result, just doing what came naturally. The opposite
seems true about DOTU. When I listen to it, I get the feeling that they were
always concious of how they wanted the finished product to seem to the fans,
and so this kept them from really letting go.

guy has already told me that it's very unlikely that I'll be able to play in
that particular set of concerts because they probably wouldn't have room for
more than one guitarist (and believe it or not there's actually somebody
else BETTER than me!) . . . so chances are I'm going! FINALLY! so...

How do I get tickets? Can I get them through BASS? Or do I have do get
acquainted with ticketbastard?
I'm about to get tickets for my first real concert (G3 -
Satriani/Vai/Roberts) at the Wherehouse BASS setup . . . can I do the same
for this? I never thought the TBAs would actually be here, so I didn't
really pay attention to everybody else's ticket-getting stories! :(

than the overplayed ones. >>

I'll have to disagree you with here. BHS was my least favorite song on SU
from the beginning. It just sounded too Beatlesque for me. I dislike BUTOW
for the same reason. Maybe "dislike" is not the right word....how about I
don't LOVE them. I WILL readily admit to liking a song, no matter how many
times it's played on the radio. Good case in point: BIMH. I LOVE that
song. It's one of my favorite SG songs, ever. There. I admit it.

And while I'm at it, I have to say I've been a little disappointed in this
DOTU vs BMF vs SU thing we've got going here. It's been very interesting,
believe me. But I'm disappointed in learning that I seem to be in a
minority. That is, SU is my favorite album. I can't believe this rates at
the bottom for most people. I felt like crying after I got Kathie's (thank
you - awesome job!) survey results:

<< TOTAL totals: (given this choice of albums)
 70% prefer BMF, 16% prefer DOTU and 14% prefer SU.>> ;-(

BMF and DOTU tie for second place in my book. The production, IMHO on BMF
was a bit lacking. The sound on SU could have been better - it was too
muddled (is that a word?), but was a big improvement over BMF. As far as
production/sound goes, DOTU wins hands down. But when you look at each album
as a collections of songs, Superunknown, IMO, is unparalleled. BMF is great,
but it's a straight rocking album, and I have to be in a rockin' mood to
listen to it. SU on the other hand, has a song for EVERY mood. Very few
skippables here: BHS, Kickstand, and Half, although when Half is played
live, it's awesome. My favorites are: Let Me Drown, Limo Wreck, FOBD,
Mailman, TDITTL, Like Suicide, & Fresh Tendrils. And as far as DOTU, well
I'll be quite honest. I was disappointed after the first listen. Actually,
after the first FEW listens. For me, it just didn't live up to SU. It was
an album that had to grow on me. And it did....in a big way. I love it
now. Especially BIMH, Dusty, Never the Machine, and Ty Cobb. But too many
skippables, especially when compared to SU. I don't particulary like No
Attention, Switch Opens, An Unkind, or Never Named (although I DO like the
chorus to that one!).

But this is strictly MY opinion. Obviously, we're all going to have our own
likes and dislikes, and we will never agree. Guess I'll just have to sit in
a lonely little corner, with the other 14%, listening to SU all by our
lonesomes.... :-(

Alas Rainman, whilst opening with a song like FOBD would be good for Chris, I
don't think that's the way to go. Their mission is to get the crowd going,
and if they came out playing FOBD, well, it wouldn't be pretty ;-) . I
thought opening with Spoonman at Lolla was perfect. You had instant
recognition, an upbeat vibe, and it was easy on the ole vocal cords.
Perfect. Along those lines, they could even go with something like My Wave
or Rusty Cage. Of course, I'll just have to READ about what they're opening
with, as they're coming nowhere NEAR South Florida. ;-(

Anyway, that's all I have. As far as DOTU vs BMF vs SU vs LTL, etc., well,
you guys go ahead and fight it out, I'll just sit here and sulk :-(

Let me just justify my previous e-mail (DOTU vs BMF vs SU). It seems the
general consensus is that the die-hard, or older fans tend to go with BMF as
their favorite SG album. And that is simply not the case. I've liked them
since LTL (makes me no bigger of a fan, yadda yadda yadda, blah blah blah),
