I think it might have a lot to do with SG doing their own producing. I don't know. Anyway, I was house-sitting for my friend who has a killer stereo system (big bucks, high accuracy & clarity and all that... Did I mention big bucks?) So I was spinning some of my SG disks and I hate to say it, but I was kind of disappointed with the way Superunknown sounded. Kinda flat and uninteresting (don't kill me, I'm talking sound quality here, not performance or writing.) Then I put in DOTU and, holy cow, it almost knocked me on my butt. The quieter songs just pulled me right in and the loud ones grabbed me by the throat. There's tons of stuff in the background that I never heard before. Very, very cool. I'm not sure what the point is, except that if any of your friends are stereo freaks, go hog their system for an hour or two. Definetely worth it.
