Hiya dudes!

uuummmm....been gone awhile, bought a house, foreclosed on some poor saps
dreams and future, and decided to quit the practice of law and become a
shepard.

BTW, happy birthday Seth...I remember when I turned 21. OK, I don't. In
fact, I dont remember about 2 or 3 years around that time. This is basically
what kept me out of Harvard law . . .

Well, the few times I have logged on in the last month, I expected my mailbox
to be flooded with sensitive and caring inquiries into my whereabouts . . .
instead I had quite a bit of crap e-mail which promised to triple my income
in 90 days for $24.95.

So basically, what I'm saying is . . . it's not to late to show your concern.
Just email me with something along the lines of "Brian, where the hell have
you been . . . I've missed your boorish, droll banality. Hop in, the tub is
sizzzlin' !!!"

Also, please enclose a check for $24.95 to 2489 Shyster Lane, Dallas, Texas,
and I'll forward some interesing e-mail to you that just could make you rich
. . .

Oh yea . . . SOUNDGARDEN ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!

I came home in the sigle most pissiest mood the other night and checked my
mail and low and behold...SG at Brandeis. Whoa doubletake. I ran out of
the room and asked my dad if I could go to Brandeis in November. He thought
college tour and all that and goes into saying it is a hard school,
expensive school... I told him the reason I wanted to go was to go to a
concert and he actually said yes since it is about a 3 hour drive. One
exception he has to drive me because god knows my car can't make it and no
way in hell can I use one of my parents car's. But hey I can handle that.
He even offered to buy my ticket. And it is on a school night. I asked him
why he would do that for me, his response: "I know how much you like that
aweful band and how much it means to you."
Gotta love my dad. Now I better get some damn tickets...
Sorry to bore you.

Yesterday I finally received my Soundgarden "Lollapalooza
Survival Kit" I won with tickets to the Chicago show from Q101, the
lesser ofthe two great stations out here.
Anyway, it's really cool! It comes in a backpack that has the
Down On the Upside logo (Well, not really a logo, but the words...), a
SG earplug container with the BMF logo, a BMF frisbee, a poncho w/ the
DOtU logo, a first aid kit with the DOtU logo, a hack sack thing with
Soundagrden on the side, and last a very cool bottle opener with the
DOtU logo thing on the side.
Anyway, I thought it was a pretty cool SG givaway! :)

Seth:

I had an idea for the SG page I thought I'd share. In connection with the
tour I thought it would be cool to have a "choose the set list" page
where we could voice what songs we wanted SG to play. The format could be
point and click, with menus for each album, b-sides, and other songs SG
has been known to play live (limit it to say, 15 songs). You could then
tally up the selections to see which songs were most popular. Who knows,
we might even have some influence on the actual set list. This is just
part of my never ending quest to see SG play "Beyond the Wheel" live
again.

sale-he even called to find out who will be selling them. From reading

this isn't prime information or anything vasant, but I did hear
some of the self-titled pigeonhed record, and although kim was pretty much
(imo) a guest on the record it was difficult to actually hear anything
remotely like his guitar playing. mostly it was effects and stuff by steve
fisk and shawn smith. kim may have added a couple of doo-wops here and
there, but I couldn't really pick them out. but keep in mind this wasn't a
close listen, and happened a long time ago.

from what I've read, ben writes both the guitar and bass parts for
his songs, not to mention the lyrics and vocal melodies to the songs you
mentioned. I would almost kill some people just to hear his four-track
tapes, with his solo versions of head down and somewhere. I imagine that
he is probably a fairly good guitarist in his own right. don't forget that
on the various hater recordings ben only plays rhythm (if not lead)
guitar, unlike his other side project where he just plays bass. although,
I have a feeling that ben may play guitar on everybody's dotu favourite an
unkind, simply because chris didn't play on that song and there sounds
like there is more than one guitar track.

faint memory - was ben perhaps *not* a bass player before he
joined soundgarden? I seem to remember reading that somewhere.

Everybody,
Is anyone else afraid to be a fan of anything? Lately it seems as
though a lot of famous people I am fans of are dying. It totally
shatters this idea that they are immortal, so to speak. It is getting
to the point where I am afraid to get interested in artists in the music
biz or any biz for that matter, it's like they're dropping like flies.
For me it was Kurt Cobain and now it is Tupac Shakur. Yes, I am a fan
of Tupac Shakur AND Soundgarden. After seeing that pic of Chris in the
latest issue of Rolling Stone I'm really uneasy. With all this death
going around (has anyone seen Layne Staley of Alice In Chains lately?)
where is our guarantee that Chris and the gang are gonna be around?
This is totally and completely depressing. I mean what's next? Eddie
Vedder? Anyone else feeling down?

Lemon jello:

i'm going to the electric factory. me and my dad and about 3-5
friends who are in for the experience of a lifetime with me jsut
cause they know i love them. :) woo hoo! we'll have to meet up
somewhere in the EF. i know that there are two other people on this
list that have said something about the EF concert, and they're going.

as to tickets? well, i called TM yesterday and the day before,
they're clueless. so i called the EF itself today and they're even
worse. they don't even have real people to answer yr questions and if
you want real info you have to call some 900 number for "band gossip
and information." and they send you through to another entire phone #
for concert listings and ticket sales info and there was NOTHING
about SG. they said something about whoever was playing the EF on nov
22, but didn't mention SG at all. who knows?

for those of you going to the EF concert in Philly, if you have web
access, the EF has a web site. :) it's at:
 http://www.electricfactory.com

don't bother trying to call them, it's a pain in the ass. no real
people at all, just like 5 different annoying answer mail things.
really bad news.
