I actually think I can actually contribute some real information!

. . .unless, of course, you all already know this . . .

. . . but in Guitar magazine (I think the one that Thayil was interviewed
in), there was an ad for Crybaby 535, and it had Chris, Kim, and Ben
pretending to "surf" or something on the Crybaby 535s . . . so it would be
my EDUCATED GUESS, that the specific Crybaby that Kim uses is a Crybaby 535
(unless they just got paid a lot of money to endorse a product they don't
even use...). . . which I happen to have by coincidence . . . good choice Kim!

hey! anybody else hear this? on the official page. i just got up and checked
both pages to see if there was any additions and i saw this on the official
page. boy does real audio suck! im talking about moby's remix of dusty by
the way. it sounds very spacy, chris' vocals seem a little sped up and you
can hear the bass great, no guitars. you can check it out yourself at:
http://imusic.com/soundgarden/eurotour/moby.html
It sounds ok, its only 52 seconds long and its just the first verse.
Maybe ill like it more when i hear the whole song and its not on Real Audio.

They just put it up last night at the official page. Theres this whole bio
of moby there and on the top there's a "Soundgarden European Tour '96."
However, there is no info on whether or not he's going to be in the american
leg of the tour, in fact theres no info about him being on the european tour
except for the banner on top, just a bio on moby. Ha! Getting up at 8:30 AM
does have it's rewards...not really.

Oh silly me, I just checked out the European Tour Page on the official page
and theres a page for each of the three opening acts: eleven, moby, and sponge.
hmmm i betcha the next single will have that remix on it. well enough rambling.

Howdy Hi, fellow SOMMS...

Okay, look, I'm comming real close to dropping this list. Let me tell
you a story: my mail server has been down since Tuesday night. I get my
digests today and find 75% pathetic bitching and complaining. Is this to
highlight the other 25% that are fantastic? Some of you are so frigging
PC and anal that it's enough to make me spit. Just shut up already!
Okay, so you think that Jessica is a slut... good, say it once, make your
point, and maybe a rebutal. this isn't the slaughterhouse. And what's up
with these one line postings? Stop wasting my freakin time with your
crap! ANd these elementary flames; try having a point next time.
FACT: the stupid 'S' kinda looks like a swastika, if you're on crack and
you think that "all the little pigs have god" is offensive.
okay, i don't think anyone needs a cross-race, cross-ethinic survey on
this do we?
Maybe I'm wrong. YOu know what?? I'd really like some response to this
too, responses from the lurkers and from those who post worthwhile
messages pertaining to the band. I'd atleast like to know if I'm wrong
so that I can get the hell off this list if I am.

Thank you

Here's the answer to all your questions!
(aren't you happy?!?!)

The S-100's that Kim uses have a really cool tone. They have a rich
element in the bass (rhythm) pickup that the Gibson (epiphone) doesn't
have. BUT those Guild guitars IMHO are otherwise pieces of crud.
THE SG V. LP
The SG is lighter, brighter and is SO much easier to play.
THe Les Paul on the other hand has a fat tone like no other guitar.
Basically, without boring you, the LP is a better guitar, but the SG has
a brighter tone (ie. if you tune down to S.Gardenland you will not hear
oatmeal thru your speakers)
I chose the SG because it's got a lighter strat feel and has the
humbucker sound. Trust me, buy the Epiphone, but not before you try it
out on your OWN amp. You'll get the soundgarden sound you want, but not
if you have a crappy amp. NEVER try anything out on a crate. Try a new
Fender Hotrod amp, like the Blues Deluxe with all the od and distortion
and crank out some riffs.
FYI there's a new EPIphone SG "custom" or "deluxe"... ASK FOR IT! It's a
hell of a deal and is so much nicer than a Gibson!

Hewo.
Got two new vinyls today, need a bit of help wif 'em.
Um... ok.

1. I got an "Incescent mace" and "Blood Mosquito" 7 inch
single. Red vinyl. On a label named "Big seven Inch records".
On the back, there is a picture of Matt, Chris and Kim. It's all
kinda red. It says "Track at Early Recording Bf1988 Outake" on
the back aswell. Is this rare? What the hell is it? It's not on SST.
On the front there is a pic of the band.

2. Got another black vinyl... it just says soundgarden on the front.
It's totally blank on the actual vinyl. On the front there is a pic of
Chris. On the back there is a pic of the band. Written at the top
is "outtakes" and it says "Thank you (Falettinme be mice elf again)"
and... "everybody's got something to hide", anyone have any clue
to what this is? I can't play both of 'em coz my record player's
broke...

Thanx for the help.

I like the remix! It's better than the space shit that Moby did for the
Pumpkins "1979" remix. If you read up on Moby... he's like, the
anti-garden. Very interesting person. He also incorporated a techno?
version of BHS into his live act during his last US tour...which may be a
reason he's touring with SG in Europe.

Now if only the *official* people would release the 2 remixes 808 State did
for "Black Hole Sun". :-)

Actually Ben, I believe it was Jake Scott who directed Burden and
Outshined.>>>

It was Jake Scott (pretty close Ben), who is the son of Ridley, nephew of
Tony. Jake will make his feature debut with "The Gun". Incidentally, I
didn't know that he directed Outshined, but he did direct Fell on Black Days
as well.

Steven Baigelman, who wrote and directed the film, took the title from
Outshined. He had the title before he even knew what he was going to write
about. Fine Line wanted him to use a different title, as they hated "Feeling
Minnesota" but he refused to change it. (When you think about it, unless you
know the song, the title makes no sense). I haven't seen the movie, but it's

find this to be very offensive. Call me crazy, but using racial slurs is
not acceptable behavior in my book. I myself am not jewish. I have friends

OK - I'm the guilty party. I am sorry you found this offensive. I grew up

it would offend anyone.

No offense taken at all. In fact I think you are 100% right. I was
thinking about this after reading a couple of posts from people
wishing he'd let his hair grow long again and I started thinking
"Yeah, if he was still 26". I've grown to like his hair short,
because, like Shroom said, its the face and eyes, not the hair, that
make him beautiful. Besides, I read in an old article that when Kim
first met Chris, Chris looked like a marine to him: short hair, square
clothes, etc. So, as I've said before, maybe this look is what Chris
is more comfortable with. He always talks about how uncomfortable he
was with the sex god image, and the hair kind of went along with that
I guess. Anyway, I couldn't picture him with the long hair now either.
