I pay a flat rate of about $150 Canadian a year. That includes
everything. No setup fee either.

My page now has information on the upcoming Wellwater Conspiracy album!
The album will be entitled (tentatively) "Declaration of Conformity" and
will be released this fall. This is SG related, though I cannot tell
you why exactly! (thats for the newbies, I know you veterans know) :)

Hey, I just signed up to the digest and I would like to say THANK YOU!
This list actually has it's act together. I have heard no arguments and
nothing but talk of SG.
Most of the other lists I recieve consist of idiots fighting back and
forth about which is the better fan or stupid shit like that. Just
figured I would share that with all of you.

pearl jam has never performed an *entire* version of 'outshined'. mostly a
few bars here and there at various live shows, most of the time if you
didn't know what it was you wouldn't have any clue. it's cool if you're a
fan, but it's not by any means an attempt to perform the whole song. don't
know of them doing any other references to any other sg songs.

just fyi, that faq is *not* necessarily the word of god. ;-)

I know this doesn't count, but at one show I know of eddie sang
the first couple of lines from hunger strike, adding "I'll sing this for
chris, he'll be really proud".

Well, Scroggin, actually Caryn is far from paranoid. The last thing
Nothingman wrote before disappearing from the list was how amazing it
was that complete strangers would trust him enough to send him money.
It was a touching post about trust, and then he burned us. So, we have
a bit of history here and I wouldn't blame people who got burned by
Nothingman to be a bit gunshy (I haven't gotten my shirt yet either).

i know this really doesn't need to be discussed anymore, but...
when i was 14 (two years ago) i went to my first soundgarden concert and i
was sooooooo surprised that i was just about one of the youngest people
there. i was dwarfed by all the twenty, thirty, forty-something people. i
had envisioned that it was going to be a huge alterna-teen fest and was
pleasantly surprised that it wasn't. i was also kind of scared. everyone
was drinking beer and knocking me over, it's a hard thing to be the only
kid in the pit. i will be scared at my next concert (i'm praying they will
stop here again!!!) cuz i'm not much bigger or older looking now at 16. i
think the wide age range is cool, and very weird. it's hard for the young
ones...

Subject: Soundgarden Tour??????
From: tonerkin@usa.pipeline.com (Tonerkin)

Just got a call from a friend who heard on the radio that Soundgarden is
coming to Chicago November 8th and 9th to the Aragon Ballroom. This is not
confirmed yet. I'll let you know if it's true or not. If it is that means
our boys are going right out on the road when they return from Europe. The
Aragon is a medium sized venue. It's the same place they played for
Superunknown tour. OK, Kathie, Ben, Big Joe and any other Chicago
sommsters it looks like we're meeting at the bottom of the stairs at the
Aragon Brawl room!! I'm too old for that nasty place!!!!!!!!! toni

Subject: (un)covers and age

About the covers thing, is there anyone in the triangle (Raleigh Durham
Chapel Hill)
that will play for me as i do the vocals for beyond the wheel? Or
maybe i should do it a cappella...

And as far as the age thing, let me clear something up. I did not mean ,
as it has been construed that excessive youth (sounds like a band name)
prevents one from enjoying the music of sg. What i meant to say was that
in my mind, i mistakenly viewed people near 14 the kind of people who
would not like sg. But now i remember that there is not a certain kind
of person who doesn't like sg. Sg fans come from all walks of
life...More so than most bands. I wonder why this is so...the sometimes
ambiguous lyrics, maybe? Sg's ability to have a different sound every
song and yet still remain true to their music? Or maybe their musical
ability...I know Matt kicks my ear's ass every time i listen...Or maybe
it's just that sg rocks...yeah, i think that's it. -j

Maybe someone could help me understand something. I haven't been
getting any Soundgarden mail from my fellow sommsters for about a week or a
week and a half. I haven't written in a while because I was on vacation over
summer vacation but I don't see why I would have been taken off the list.
Who knows maybe Seth had problems and lost my address, or maybe a bug got
into someone's computer. But what is really wierd is since this has
happened I've been getting really wierd mail that I do not understand.

15????? Hello, I'm 15, and I've been a fan of SG ever since they hit the big
Label. I've been listening to the radio since I was 4, and I heard of
Soundgarden one faithfull day, when a radio station in NY played 3 songs off
of Louder Than Love. I loved it even at that age. Don't tell me that a 15
year old can't enjoy Soundgarden to the fullest advantage!

It is hard for us (I'm 15) I don't know anyone at my school who even loves sg
as much as I do. I don't know, maybe I'm not looking too hard, but I
wouldn't even have anyone to go to a concert with.

Subject: um, rhinosaurs y una pregunta.

Urbano, donde estas? Necesito to ayuda, por favor....

Ok, now, i would like to present my meaningless interpretation of
Rhinosaur. Thie lyrics seem to be about someone so consumed with winning
the battle, with besting their enemies, that they lose themselves in the
process. Ok, i'll explain:

"Standing with my enemies hung on my horns"
I'm defeating my enemies.
"With haste and revelrie"
I'm kicking their ass, and celebrating.
"Killing with charm"
I look good kicking their ass..

But then you get to the chorus, where for the purpose of my lyric
interpratation, i will presume that "I'm" is the missing part of the
following lyrics:
"Only happy when you hurt"
The only time I'm happy is when i see you hurting.
"Only healing when you ache"
I only feel better, when you are hurting
And i can't remember any other lyrics at the moment that i can twist to
fit my purposes. But anyway, this song rocks, sg rocks, and i wish i
could write lyrics like Chris Cornell. And speaking of writing, where's
grote? Well, laters and stuff. -j
