You guys are so funny! I am really talking about GROTE and SHROOM! Classic
abbreviations, I was laughing so hard people were staring at me at work. Who
cares! Tour of 96	SOUNDGARDEN & TOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Although I do like Babes in Toyland Shroom, I have seen them in DC). That
would be such a rad show. I just wish that SG could play smaller places,
everything would be so much better - cooler people, better sound, better
atmosphere, etc.... But they are way too popular to do that now. I also
wanted to reply to whoever that was the other day who said that BUTOW was
their least favorite song on the album. Personally I love that song (it
gives me the chills), and I usually end up disliking the songs that get
overplayed by the major radio stations (they really ruin them), but BUTOW
rocks (every song by SG rocks)! To Erin, did Mind Riot & Loud Love get any
votes?

Later,

Karen

Dear people who live in England,
this is a long shot but is anyone on the list
living in or around Liverpool, if you do my girlfriend and myself would quite
like a lift to Manchester on the evening of Tuesday the 17th of September

Can you reply personally to me please with your name and phone number

Peter.. MMMmm Peter) :-O
Powderfinger

Ben, always has been. I love his actions on stage. I love his
writing. Love his bad ass. But the best bad ass is Kim's - the man
has a nice butt.

unplugged. Personally, i would love it, especially after hearing songs
off of the new album. 'Dusty' would be cool.

Somewhere

Tighter & Tighter

and

I would love to hear Chris cover his brothers song "Heaven" or "The Bear".

yes, you're exactly right...brian's original document stated simply
that soundgarden was the offending party in question...however, i
propose that action also be taken against said "obsessive hootchie"
party on the grounds of emotional damages (i'm really torn up about

Well, in my own way, I was trying to put your mind at ease as well.
I think you have every right to be concerned, it is just that with
the facts as I see them, I didn't see any reason to be. The last line
of my post wasn't supposed to be a flame in any way. My attempt at
humor was in response to the way society (esp. the media) puts famous
people under the microscope and holds them to a higher standard. This
is a negative for most stars, and IMO would qualify as a "cost of fame".

Of course, whether the cost of fame drives those we love to drink, or
worse, is another question. I'm really interested in what everyone else
has to say about Chris and the bottle. How much is too much? My=20
first reaction, though, is to just turn away and say "Let Chris run
his own life".

Subject: sg opener...

as many of you know, a complete list of the bands i follow who i would
enjoy seeing open up for soundgarden would fill up mailboxes across
the country, so i'll keep it brief and try to focus ONLY on those
bands that i feel would complement sg's sound...(either by similarity
or direct contrast...both are beautiful things...)

MORPHINE - no surprise here. dark, addictive, innovative, musically
stunning...a perfect opener for our boyz. i would travel any distance
to see this show. likewise for an sg show featuring:

BOB MOULD - although my sources tell me sugar is defunct (at least as
a touring band...perhaps another studio effort in the works), i would
give up a kidney to see this guy open up for sg. i would lop off all
of my limbs to see bob and chris (imho...the two greatest lyricists of
the modern era...with mark eitzel and perhaps lou barlow close behind)
up on stage together, letting their lyrical mastery flow...heaven on earth,
i say.

i've been saying for a long time that sg should hit the road
with SCREAMING TREES, and that's happened at lolla, so i'll skip them...

shroom's BABES IN TOYLAND idea would be kind of cool...interesting
crowd diversity there, i would think...

how about some quirky stuff like REVEREND HORTON HEAT? country tinge
with SON VOLT?

similar talented bands? HELMET? i'm sure the band would love to have
TOOL or CORROSION OF CONFORMITY along...FAITH NO MORE....wow, i'm
really dreaming now. any of those bands would make for a hellacious
double bill...same thing for AFGHAN WHIGS...now that would be cool,
and i think the audiences would be able to really get into both bands...

i'll probably have to stick with morphine as the best idea for an
opener...they've got a dedicated cult following which i'm confident
would be a lot bigger after sg fans got a load of 'em...they're not
very well-known so they won't take billing away from our boyz...but
they certainly won't be lacking in talent or stage presence. and
there's only three members to haul on a tour bus and no messy dirty
guitar techs... (morphine is a three-piece with drums, sax and
two-string slide bass)

SOUNDGARDEN/MORPHINE '96...silver management, make it so... :)

Subject: lots of stuff in my head, some of it about SG

i'm spending more and more of my time looking at the unofficial soundgarden
homepage and getting more and more obsessed.....
i'm saddened by all the talk about chris/soundgarden drinking. i hope it
really is not a problem, just silly rumors. actually if i had my way, they
would not drink at all. no one would, but that's too much to ask i suppose
:)
i also wonder how serious some of the list members are about wanting to
hurt this heather mifflin girl...i agree she's a dumbass (sounds like
another case of the evils of alcohol consumption to me) but there is no
time that i would consider it all right to hit another person (or animal,
or tree, or whatever you take your frustration out on) and kim was in the
wrong (so were the wedding party jerks) but i don't think the situation was
extreme enough for kim to spend time in jail, but i wasn't there and this
has been discussed enough already so i will stop.
i guess this is all on my mind cuz i felt like kicking this girl's ass
today cuz she didn't put these shoes i really wanted on hold at the store
she worked at and she said she did and i finally got the 60 or so dollars i
needed and they weren't there and i hate her i hate her....sorry i am off
on a non soundgarden related tangent. i will stop. anyway, i think
soundgarden should do a special list members only concert somewhere
(somewhere by me maybe, like minneapolis....) that would be cool cuz it
would only be people who truly cared about the music and them (and their
bodies in some people's cases) and that would just be cool. dreaming....
this is getting long.
i can't think of who i'd want to see in concert with SG, all i know is the
last time i saw them in 1994 i had to suffer through Tad and Eleven and i
hope they get some bands that i like this time, but no matter, i'd be there
to see soundgarden anyway.
sorry this is so long. i have to say that i envy shroom and how she so
openly discusses her sexual fantasies (i would not be so brave, even though
i feel the same way!)

Ok, I was just thinking wishfully, because im about to get my ass down to
best buy to buy AIC unplugged. <wishfulthinking>ok..AIC did a couple of
opening dates for kiss and theres been rumors of a AIC tour. forget opening
act..how about a joint AIC/SG tour?? its not gonna happen..but if it
did..the mind drools</wishfulthinking>

serious considerations for opening acts..i agree with TOOL, Babes in
Toyland, and Stabbing Westward and would like to add L7 and Screaming Trees
to the list.
How about this..everybody gets five guesses at the opening act and whoever
gets it right wins...a free somms shirt AND a heather mifflin voodoo doll

fave member of mine would have to be Matt. It just seems like he's the
nicest guy in the band. Like you can see Matt just hanging out and drinking
beers and being nice.

hmmm SG unplugged...my friend commented the other day about the AIC
unplugged on how he would have liked to seen less songs from sap and jar of
flies which are already mostly acoustic and more from dirt and facelift and
AIC. If SG ever did do unplugged I would like to see them do more hard edged
songs. here would be my setlist:

1)Flower
2)Slaves & Bulldozers
3)Fresh Tendrils(am i the only who's obsessed with this song?)
4)Dusty
5)Drawing Flies
6)Burden In My Hand
7)Gun
8)Mind Riot
9)Rusty Cage
10)Seasons
11)Ty Cobb
12)Boot Camp

anyways theres my set list..i dont like to think about SG doing unplugged
because chances are theyre probably not going to do it and thinking about
how cool it would be kinda drives me nuts because they wont be doing it.
enough rambling

Free somms shirt, HA! I'd be happy to see one I paid for!!

If SG would do an unplugged, do you think they could really be all
acoustic. Has anyone seen Kim play an acoustic? Would Chris keep his

Chris Cornell has decided to divorce Susan Silver. Plus he's finally
revealed that he's bisexual, and it's about damn time. He, Dave Navarro, and
I are running away to Idaho to live the rest of our lives in a house filled
with rubber mattresses, whipped cream, hot tubs, and baby oil. Ain't life
just grand?!? Heheheh...

HA!! You think THIS is openly discussing my sexual fantasies?!? No
way!! I can only hint around at what they are. Otherwise we'll have yet
another flame war on our hands. And I've already gotten into trouble for
THAT one, thank you very much. If you want to hear more, you'll just have to
e-mail me privately. ;-) Heheheh...

Nope Mayor... there's two of us. And I thought that Nothingman loved
us. :::sniffle::: Nothingman... what happened? I thought we were buds!!
<sigh> Oh well... even if I got my shirts in today, they would belong to
Brian and Grote by tomorrow. Oh woe is me!!! Heheheh...

Well, it does say "PLEASE NOTE: Not all artists in the Festival will
be broadcast" on the schedule page at iMusic. And as mentioned
yesterday, Soundgarden was not listed in the iMusic Newsletter that
was mailed out announcing the broadcast. And rumor has it that the
owner of the Showbox wanted to broadcast the June 20 gig via RealAudio
but was denied by Silver Mgmt.

Seems like something of an silly move by both the Mgmt and iMusic,
though; the only band at Lollapalooza for which iMusic does the
official website is not part of their own broadcast.

Puzzled,
