ok , well in Hindi Soundgarden would be ... well we'll first have to see
about sound which would be "aawaaz"... and then garden would be
"bageecha" or "upwan" or "watika"... as i'm from bombay this would be very
crude Hindi but nevertheless we have : "aawaazbageecha", "aawaazupwan" or
"aawaazwatika" . Weird eh!! Well Kim himself should be able to help out
on this one!!!!!

I knew someone would point this out. Of course I know that...but Ben
can be short for Benjamin, even if in this case its not. OK, so it
doesn't make sense, but neither does the whole obsession. How about
this:

You know you're obsessed with Soundgarden when...

...you can make a connection with Soundgarden even if one doesn't
exist.

Subject: soundgarden dream

Last night before i went to bed, i put in "Down on the Upside". I
programmed all the slow songs into memory. Soon after, i dozed off. But
Soundgarden appeared eventually. It looked like it was at some benefit
type concert. There were a lot of bands on the bill (i remember the
chilli peppers) and everyone was having a good time. But it starts
getting weird at the end. Whatever group i was with got to go backstage.
The Peppers were the last group to play and during their last song all
the bands went on stage to do the last song sing-a-long. Well, I saw
Soundgarden go on stage, so i followed. No one stopped me either. weird....
So i walk all the way to the left side of the stage where Chris is.
Everyone grabs hands like its a freakin camp fire or something. I said,
"hey chris." I wasn't really excited either. Just calm. During the
singing, while i'm holding Chris's hand, i said, "man.. i bet SHROOM
wishes she was me right now!" Chris paused for a sec, and laughed...
hard! Then he said, "you're probably right."

So the singing ends and chris and the guys sit down in chairs behind
them. I say something to Chris and am about to leave, when i say, "oh
yeah, while i've got you hear. This band Soundgarden is playing hear next
week. Have you heard of 'em? (i'm being sarcastic) Well anyway, Chris..
next Saturday is your birthday. And i'm on the mailing list and have
volunteered to bring you birthday cards. So you'll be getting some
birthday stuff." He kind of rolled his eyes in embarrasment and the rest
of the guys laughed. I continued "well, i've gotta go... so, have a good
time in Rockingham next week." and i went off to join my group.

you know you are obbsessed with Soundgarden when you dream about them :)

Sorrry I'm giving in my review of Wednesday's New York lolla so
late, but i think i just finished recovering from it :)

Well I got there a little late, just when screaming trees began.
I lost everyone i had come with within the first 10 minutes of the show
but at least i managed to get in with a camera and an extra roll of
film. Screaming trees rawked, but some dork decided to land on my left
hand cause me to badly sprain my thumb...and trust me it's no fun being
in a pit without a hand :/
So after the trees i went backstage a sec to get some ice but
didn't see anyone remotely cool :/ rancid and the ramones were good,
wutang was ok cause the pit wasnt too rough so you could maintain a space
for SG :) i have no idea what the monks were about, but it looked fun
whatever they were doing :)

Now SG...it was the setlist from GOD.. I wrote it down
immediately after it was over...so here is the complete setlist in order...:
1.Spoonman 2.Searching with my Good eye closed 3.Let Me Drown 4.Pretty Noose
5.Burden in My Hand 6.My Wave 7.Ty Cobb (Chris took off that unbuttoned
shirt at this point heheheh) 8.Fell on Black Days 9.Rusty Cage 10.Solo
Black Hole Sun 11.Outshined 12.Mailman 13.Drawing Flies

It was amazing, the entire set. I was happy that Chris
appreciated that i survived that armory show in NYC. Chris also made the
comment about "come up here and I'll ram it down your fucking throat"
which i enjoyed very much. He also said that they were going to watch
the Ramones play every night cause they're a great band. I was just
mesmerized the entire time. My friend Brian also said that Chris high
fived him sometime during the set but i don't remember chris leaving the
stage..but oh well :)

So if any of those pictures of SG come out any good at all I'll
get them scanned and send them to Seth...l8trs all!

Is there a back up plan for SOMMS tshirts if Nothingman cannot be located or
extradited back to this country? It's a cool idea, and I'd like one, but I
guess things are at the proverbial croosroads at this point...

Speaking of Nothingman, I really miss his random and daily varying signature

just saw the burden video. It was awesome. It started out with chris
walking in the desert and he climbed on top of this jungle-gym kinda
thing. And he was at the top with his guitar singing. And then you
see Kim walking out in the desert. The whole video they are in the
desert. The use of light was cool. Sometimes everything was green and
then blue, and then normal. A lot of bugs, mostly ants, in this
video. For some reason on certain parts of the video, when they
showed the band walking in the desert, it looked like they were the
ants. Maybe that was the point, i dunno. You'd have to see the video to understand. I'm probably just
babbling right now. This video was really cool, one of thier bests
imo. Lots of cool imagery. Through out the video they showed this
hand that was like half burried in the sand. Just the fingers were
poking out. They showed a lot of stuff that I was suprised MTV let
them show. Oh well, this probably isn't a very good description for
you. But you'll see it for yourself soon I guess. Laters...

	Australia
	Bulgaria
	Canada
	Croatia
	Czech Republic
	Denmark

	Philippines
	Portugal
	Slovenia
	South Africa

When my husband and I were trying to pick out baby names we were
having a hard time picking a boy's name. I liked Christopher, but he
immediately said "you just like Christopher because of Chris Cornell"
I denied this and really didn't believe it because I did like the
name. Then he asked me what other names I liked and I told him
Benjamin and Matthew. When he heard that he made the connection with
the other band members, saying "Benjamin: Ben Shepherd; Matthew: Matt
Cameron, come on, who are you trying to fool". And it was at that
point that I realized how much a part of my psyche Soundgarden had
become. Not even intending to do it I had chosen names very similar to
the band members (in fact I even defended myself by saying the Ben's
name was really Hunter, but my husband didn't buy it). So, even though
the name Benjamin isn't the exact name, it is similar enough for my
husband to have made the connection, so I thought it was pretty cool
evidence of obsession since it wasn't even conscious on my part.

I probably should have explained this in the original post, but since
it was a light-hearted reply to a light-hearted thread I really didn't
think it was necessary. I'll certainly be more careful next time.

First video on 120 Minutes was Burden in my Hand! It was nice not to
have to wait through an hour of other crap to see what I wanted to
see. Not much to the video: alot of shots of the band walking through
the desert (they do look great though). It's kind of eerie and there
is a connection to a dead (I assume) body in the sand. I like it, but
then I like just about everything they do, so I'm not the best critic.
I'm sure other people will have more thorough reviews. I'm curious to
hear what everybody thinks.

This info may be a bit outdated, so if anyone's heard anything
different in the last 2 years, let us know:

	DRUMS (Drum Workshop):
	5x14 Keplinger snare
	8x12 tom
	9x13 tom
	12x14 tom
	14x16 tom
	16x24 bass drum

	CYMBALS (Zildjian):
	15" New Beat hi-hat
	18" K crash/ride
	21" A medium ride
	17" A Rock crash
	20" A medium ride

	HEADS:
	Remo coated Emperor on snare
Clear Emperors on tops of toms, clear Diplomats on bottoms
	Clear Ambassador on bass drum

Hope this helps.

Kathie, I sincerely apologize.

I had absolutely no intention of making you look stupid. I saw your
message, said to myself "Wait a sec, Ben's real name is Hunter," and
posted. That's all.

Ben's real name is trivia, so I didn't look at your post and think
"Wow, I can't believe she didn't know *that*."

Again, I am sorry I have offended you.
