Hey, I just called KRQR, the guy said his sheet said
Monday's Rockline would have 7Mary3, but then he played
the promo (off the air) and it said it would be the SG
special. Supposedly starting at 7pm. I'm sure they will
be playing the promo heavily today, so we (and anyone else)
can double check.

Subject: Re: Mailman and Lolla Info

O.K., I've got it. I think I can put all of this speculation about
Mailman to rest once and for all. Listen to the song carefully.
Obviously, the song is about Utah Jazz power forward Karl "The Mailman"
Malone! (And if you believe that one, I've got a fantastic little bridge
in Brooklyn I'd love to sell you...)

As for real content, I heard on 98 Rock this morning that tickets for the
July 16 Lolla in Charleston, WV are going on sale this week. Check out
the Lolla home page or the TicketMassah home page to buy tickets before
they're released to the general public on Saturday.

Also, for those who care... I made it down to the Freakness Festival at
Fells Point in Baltimore on Sunday. I got to see Laughing Colors
(excellent local band, for those of you who haven't heard them yet), the
Hazees, and Dishwala, among others. Anyway, me and my friend Buddy are
walking up Broadway in Fells Point, when we come across this guy on the
pay phone. He's got the bleached out hair, earings all over, this lime
green shirt on and plaid pants. As we get closer to this guy, we hear
him on the phone saying, "Happy Mother's Day, mom!" and we're kind of
thinking to ourselves, "Oh yeah. Check out this loser. Calls his mom
from a pay phone in Fells Point (the bar district) to say Happy Mother's
Day. Doesn't even bother to go visit her." So me and Bud make a few
more wisecracks about this guy and keep walking. When we get to the top
of the street, there's this guy with a stroller kind of laughing, and he
says something like, "I can't believe no one's mugged that guy yet."
We're like "Who?", and he says "The guy on the phone. That's the lead
singer from Dishwala..." Sure enough, it was. Talk about feeling like
an idiot. Here we are busting on this guy, and it turns out that it was
probably the only phone he could find where he'd have some semblance of
privacy. Anyway, I thought it was kind of funny.

Sorry I took up so much space...

Poooooor Shroom. She STILL hasn't seen all of the freaking video yet.
But that's ok, 'cuz tonight is the Rockline party thingy and they're going
to show us ALL of SG's videos. Which means not only will I be able to post
on PN, but also on Flower!! HAHAHAHA!!

HEY!!! If anyone manages to get through to SG tonight on Rockline...
make sure you mention the list!! SAY HI TO US AND SETH!!! Give the web page
a plug, or something!! And, ummmm... tell Chris that I want his sexy body.
No wait, tell him that I would drive 500 miles just to drink his bathwater!!
Heheheh... JUST KIDDING!! Umm... just kidding about the telling him part.
I meant the other stuff. I really would drive all that way just to drink
his bathwater. SICKO STRIKES AGAIN!!!! Thank yew.... thank yew...
 (Heheheh, Dena!)

My mostest sincerest apologies AGAIN to those who have been writing me
and not receiving responses. First official weekend of summer, y'know. Had
to ring it in properly. That being done, I'm going to check ALL of the
thirty million messages I had waiting in my mailbox, and I'll get back to
y'all by Wed (I hope). I just barely glanced over most of 'em.

One post that did catch my attention though, was by someone who said
they'd shared a cigarette with Kim. This is interesting, because I remember
reading that Kim is kinda freaky about sharing things like cigarettes,
drinking after people, and stuff. In fact, that's where the song "HIV Baby"
came from, isn't it? Ummm... I think it was in the Alternative Guitar
magazine. Lemmee check... Yeppers, I was right. It's a paragraph on the
song, written by Kim:
"I wrote the middle and ending riff, but Chris wrote the lyrics and Ben
(Shepherd, Soundgarden's bassist) came up with the title, which was based on
me, because I don't like sharing people's silverware, drinking out of other
people's bottles or sharing cigarettes. I'm pretty uptight about that. Ben
said to me, 'Wow, Kim, you're a total H.I.V. baby!" (laughs)
Hey Deb... I'll bet you can get past that though... heheheh...

I read in the paper today that Lolla tickets will go on sale May 22nd on
the Lolla web site. They said there was no date for regular ticket sales.
This was in regards to the Bryan, TX show.

Oh wow... I heard this rap song while I was flipping stations in my car
this weekend, and there was a part of it that summarized Chris wonderfully:
"Baby, you are ALL that, PLUS a bag of chips!!!"

                    <kisskiss>
                                         Shroom

PS... Ms. White-Out, puh-leeeeeze forgive me for not writing?? I promise
I'll make it up to you!! If I ever manage to win the freaking lottery, I'll
do everything in my power to get Mr. Cameron within your evil clutches!!!

The songs that tell the story of my life are Fell on black days, during
difficult moments (a lot of times), and TDITTL because of the "I learned
that I was a lier, just like you" dedicated specially to my dad (it's good he

Also I want to say that it's going to be very hard to read the messages
now that everybody will listen to DOTU, because we won't have it here maybe
for several months, and I'm looking forward to get it!!!. I hope I
won't commit suicide meanwhile.

What's up with the asshole rob o'connor, at rolling stone dogging DOTU? i
mean, granted, he has heard it, which most of us haven't, but he draws all
these bullshit comparisons........

"But where Superunknown confronted Soundgarden's perennial identity crisis
by expanding the musical attack into pop and psychedelic rock, the band's
fifth album heads straight for the jugular, eschewing innovation for the
simpler payoff of just rocking out......
...."Innovators of the seattle scene, they are the band most responsible
for rewriting the heavy-metal handbook to exclude glam and get down to
serious business......."
........But even with all four members writing, the best the band comes up
with is the same ol' metal machine music......The band comes from an
underground stoked by its hatred for the limited perspective of the
hair-metal bands of the '80s. Now clearly the mainstream, the group has the
opportunity to expand it music beyond the ususal rhythms and attitudes that
have already been established. It's a shame that Soundgarden don't live up
to the challenge...."

All I have to say about this is we can be fair, and hear the album before we
rip this dickhead a new asshole, or we do it now. either way, e-mail this

wow the video was cool! Frank Kozik is the best( oh hey seth nevermind about
the mail I sent about his address being wrong...It was right I recieved mail
from him today!)
ok so im cool I recived mail from Frank Kozik !YES I do need something to
make me cool!
I just finished listening to my tape of the interview. Thay all crack me up!
they are so funny. I really liked the part about what kim had to say about
his dancing partner and it must have gotten sick and thrown up....! and there
was other funny things that Matt kept throwing in... like when they were
talking about lollapallozza ( however the hell you spell it)and chris said he
didnt really get into othger things at lollapalozA ( or hey well it could be
the lollapaLOSER tour)except the music. and matt chimmed in something about
selling wallets. which of course hes refering to the fact that Chris makes a
new wallet( out of drum heads and duck tape or was it electrical tape?) ever
time they make an album ( per rolling stone artical Matt told Chris he should
market these at lolapalozza as the CHRIS CORNELL signature wallets..)
i got such a laugh out of that....

well as you can see im really new to the list. because im just typing
gibberish here...oh well im a fan too!

Well what I really wanted to write about is this:

I think we ( YES ALL) if it is affordable? THIS IS JUST AN IDEA!
I think we should all get together and meet( I KNOW SOUNDS LAME)
but really we could hold our own Soundgarden convention! what other place
could you meet such devoted fans? I know what you are thinking IM NUTS>. well
no im not, well not really. SHOOM you'll have to vouch for me. ( well maybe
not. BUT I SWEAR IM PRETTY NORMAL)
well think it over... O.k. give the idea a chance! it may not ever happen
because of money and what not but hey a least I thought it was a cool idea!(
And really in the end that's all that matters! <~~~ hahah!)

ok well I think I have said all I can . Well just for tonight, I promise
there will be more!

I'll be here. There's a ton of work to be done on the Web page, and I
wouldn't think of running away and deserting the list.
