Subject: I just got..."DOWN ON THE UPSIDE!!!!!"

YES! It's true....I got it! "DOWN ON THE UPSIDE" Right now, the
entire thing! In my hot little hands! Actually, its in my tape
player blasting!!! As I type this. It pays to to have a good freind
at A&M who has connections. I just had to write and tell you all
how AWESOME it is!!!! Actully, I got it Sat. May 5th at exactly
1:30pm PST!! All the songs are great, I love "Tighter and Tighter"
it has this certain groove that grabs you..the verse..."Sleep tight
for me, sleep tight for me.. I'm gone...cause I feel I'm going,
feel I'm slowing down" It's increadibly addicting.
Others songs that stand out to me are "Rhinosaur", the John
Lennon(ish)"Blowup the Outside World", "Burden in my Hand", Boot
Camp, Overfloater, the hard hitting "Ty Cobb", with the cool
verse("I'll hit it..Fuck you all!") the melodic "Apple Bite" and
the easy going "Zero Chance". I think alot of people will agree
that "Zero Chance has that beautiful slow rhythmic sound of "Fell
on Black Days" type style. This song is not easily decided, one of
my favorite songs on the album. The verse from the song is as
follows: "On the plus and minus, zero chance of ever turning this
around"..."Why doesn't any one believe in loneliness"..."Stand up
and everone will see your holyness ah yes" "Say..If you look hard
you'll find your way back home..." Rhinosaur has some awesome
guitar sounds as well as Tighter and Tighter, and "Ty Cobb" having
some great old fashion banjo mixed in with Kim Thayils heavy guitar
sound. Anyway..I could go on and on about how great this album
is...but I will let you all judge for yourselves on May 21st. ENJOY
IT. I'm positive you all will as much as I am!!!!!!

Here is the order in which the songs are listed:

Pretty Noose
Rhinosaur
Zero Chance
Dusty
Ty Cobb
Blow Up The Outside World
Burden In my Hand
Never Named
Apple Bite
Never the Machine Forever
Tighter and Tighter
No Attention
Switch Opens
OverFloater
An Unkind
Boot Camp

Bye Now....

I heard that Kozik had to cut some scenes out of the Pretty Noose
video before MTV would play it. Has anybody heard about this?

I think Chris is scared he's doing the "Jesus Christ Pose" by complaining
about popularity and it's trappings. He's caught in it's pretty Noose by
the industry, fans, etc . . .

I was just wondering (I know someone already posted it, but I forgot!) when
Chris does the Vedder impersonation, or whatever? What lyrics is he singing
'cos when I find out, I'll watch it. Can someone tell me? Thanks!

Okay, guys, fellow Seattle listeners...
I called up 99.9 and they said that the End (107.7) will be doing the
national broadcast, and they are doing a separate one. They said that theirs
(on 99.9) will play a lot more music, old and new, and the band will be in
the studio live, hanging out and drinking beer. Whoever it was that I talked
to said that he didn't know when it is exactly, but they will put that info
on the air very soon. Well, hope that helps y'all out. Can't wait!!! I just
bought my blank tapes yesterday!

You know, I'm getting pretty envious of all you people that already have the
single, the album, that's going to SNL, that's been to listening parties,
ect. Just out of curiousity, is there anyone on this list, besides me, that
doesn't have the single or album yet?

That's a big nod over here, seth. Seems that the Official Web peoples like

Well it seems that almost everybody has got themselves a listening party to
go to. Does anyone know if there will be any in Canada? Waitaminute,
it's a big country, so how about just Ontario, North-Eastern Ontario? So
if anybody knows somethin', can you let me know? If not, I guess I can
always find myself a few buddies and have one of my own. Hey, now there's
