Can we please forget about this stupid flame war? I've already talked
privately with the people involved (Heather, Shroom, Blind Dog). If
you feel the need to talk about it further, please email me privately.

To clarify one point, Blind Dog was not the one who claimed to have a
"Seth-given right to post to the digest." Let's not start another war
about that.

As for those of you who are worried about my making new list policy
when the FAQ becomes public, please don't worry about it. I promise

The locking-him-up-in-a-room-thing was a joke made by nothingman. And why
would you want to kiss an unconscious man, no matter who he is? You don't

I have to back Blind Dog on this. This thread is not really "Fun" is it?
It's just a bunch of people flaming a bunch of other people for being offensive.
In lieu of "fun" threads like this, It would be way cooler to see discussions
of playing styles, lyrical interpertations, all that stuff. The "fun" stuff
seems to come everyday in Nothingman's posts (he's got a great sense of humor)
and threads like the "misheard lyrics" one.

WHAT THE FUNK IS THIS!!! You do NOT go around attacking someone personally
just because they disagree with you. If Blind Dog called you names and I missed
that, well, he's at fault for this too. But I can't recall him doing that.
To call him a "blight" and cursing up a storm does not contribute towards
anything on this list. It does, in fact, tend to increase, umm...."Sectional
tension" and may wind up causing a lot of hate. Even if you know Blind Dog
personally (which i'm pretty sure you don't) and KNOW that he's an anal Scrooge
(which I know that he's not), it's a sucky thing to do to post something
like that
on the list for all to see. Never write an angry reply without thinking
about it.

That may be true, but we wouldn't know, would we? It's a moot point. This list
would be a lot different if other people weren't on it. And Shroom isn't
the ONLY
interesting person on this list.

Some of the non-music topics suck, and most really revolve around Shroom's
obsession with Chris Cornell, which I personally (along with most of the guys
on the list) cannot identify with. And I'm bored of the CC obessions threads.
(Ok, so I read 'em anyway, but what am I gonna do instead? Study? :))

Who gives a shit who is the "sex symbol"? John Popper is not an attractive man,
but there are many women who dig his voice. Also, where is the justification?
When there was the small thread about the lead singer of Garbage, it was
squashed
immediately. It had little to no SG content, true, and that was probably
one of
the reasons why Seth got mad. Can't really blame him. But this has relatively
little SG content. Really just Chris Cornell content, as in "<insert fav.
star here>
is lying unconcious in the middle of a field. What would you do with him? (oh,
insert a little bit of sexual inneundo here)

There is a problem with these bands playing Donnington. The festival is called the
Best of British Rock Festival. They don't normally have more than one or two
American bands on each year.SG, STP, PJ and NIN are all American and so
wouldn't all be asked to play in the same year.
I also hope SG are asked to play because I haven't seen them since 1992. I think it
was on their BadMotorFinger tour when they supported GNR. I can't wait for the
new album, and the next tour.
In my local record shop i managed to find a radio only promo single for just #4.50
(Terrorvision ones were being sold for #7-#10) so I just ahd to have it.

someone's boat isn't necessarily gonna float someone else's boat.. and
what I don't agree with on the list, I just let go.. it's not worth it
to get into this much heated debate.. Remember, what put us all here is
that we're all Soundgarden fans and I really do think we should band
together instead of fighting amongst ourselves.. Not that everone who
listens to Soundgarden is gunna get along, that's impossible, but we
should stay focused on the topic at hand, which is Soundgarden, not
who's an asshole and who sucks. I mean I don't mind the Chris-is-hot
threads one bit.. I did however mind the three-hottest-women-in-rock
bit, I know that's a bit hypocrite of me, but me being an ugly wench, I
feel kinda bad =) And that's why I keep my Chris-is-hot threads off the
list, because I don't want to put the people on the list who can't
relate in a spot. I know people are going to disagree, but I feel this
is getting out of hand. I don't mind reading about Pearl Jam either..
and we had a OJ thread a while back.. I didn't mind that either.. I
didn't contribute, because Seth would find me and shoot me ;), but I
didn't mind it.. it's like having something in common with everone and

And now a lame attempt to start a NEW thread: What's yer favorite
Soundgarden song TITLE? I love all their song titles.. but my favorite
is probably Black Hole Sun.. I mean, all overplaying aside, Black Hole
Sun is an awesome phrase. I wanted to change my handle to Black Hole
Sun, but I thought that people would keep saying "won't you come" to me

bit confusing, but it should make sense after a while, the fills are just
pull offs from 5 to 3, with some open d's thrown in, on the d, a , and d
strings. sorry, i'm drunk. later. rock on, duuudes....

ok,
pretty noose was played on peruvian 99.1FM (Lima) for the first time on
thursday 25. but i didnt hear it until today. its everything i expected the
new soundgarden single to be. very good. and it will grow on me even more,
like all soundgarden songs tend to do. and i always like the ones that never
get out as singles more (i tend to prefer the slaves and bulldozers/limo
wreck kind of songs) so i cant wait for the album. i would buy the vinyl but
it wont get to my country (poor me) so i guess ill have to wait for the 23rd
(it always takes about two days for the new albums to get down here - poor
me again). but im happy because i heard pretty noose and they finally showed
the soundgarden interview about the new album and video on mtv latino's
version of the week in rock called semana rock. and they showed the
sculpture after which the band is named! (i had never seen it).
as for the chris cornell duets with a female vocalist, i would very much
enjoy a cornell/bjork song. their music isnt even remotely similar but i
love bjork's voice and singing style.
PACO de Espa=F1a: podrias transcribir la entrevista y publicarla en la=
 lista?
te lo agradeceria mucho.
(translation: paco from spain: how about posting the transcription of the
interview to the list?)
thats it. adios.

hi fellow rampant sg fans and lovers, and listeners, et cetera.

here's another interesting thread that others might like to take up:

what about sg and humour? what comments do you guys have on the abundant
comic
sense the band displays? I think it's great. for an example, check out
song "big dumb sex" (naturally!), or on the unofficial website the
spinonline chat thing. funny as hell.

good listening all, i love you, et cetera,

Would you belive, I was watching this movie too :) Loved the whole
soundtrack so went out and bought it. The 2 songs that caught my attention
was "Heretic" by Soundgarden and "Titanium Expose" by Sonic Youth. I loved
em both completely, so I headed off to the shop with money to buy only one
album...this time it happened that i bought Sonic Youth (Turned me into a
raging SY fan). Then it turns out about a week latter, a friend gave me a
dub of BMF, and hell I loved that too :) and turned me into a raging
Soundgarden fan :) Now I have completed both my Soundgarden and Sonic Youth
collections and love them both...plus Def fx came along aswell but that's
another story.

Pump Up the Volume is an awesome movie and I am so happy it gave me the
chance to check out some great music I may have otherwise missed.

Oh! Wow! I can actually understand a lot in this letter. Not bad, considering
I'm only in Spanish III in high school. This is soooo coool. BTW, what is the
opinion of Chris Cornell on Smashing Pumpkins, or in other words, Que es el
opino de Chris Cornell sobre Smashing Pumpkins? Smashing Pumpkins es muy
fantastico, verdad?

Also, please guys, stop fighting, please. We're all here for one reason, and
one reason only. SOUNDGARDEN. Nothing else. There's no need to bitch at each
other. Just try to use common sense before posting. Then, there's no need for
flaming.

On a humorous note, there's an oriental rug store near my house. It's called
MATT CAMRON ORIENTAL RUGS.
Wow, a rug salesman and a great drummer. Not bad. :-)
