Somms looks like BMF, but look on the edge and it has Badmotorfinger/SOMMS
written then on the back has Disc 1 track listing followed by Disc 2 track
listing, I just pick up every copy of BMF I can find turn it over to see if
it is SOMMS. Trust me, you'll know it when you see it.

i found this when i was reading the Addicted to Noise interview of
Cantrell and Kinney from Alice in Chains. pretty funny stuff :)

Cantrell: I was over at Shirley's man. She's got shitty scotch.

ATN: So you guys are spiritual, you're saying. You're into the New Age
thing.

Kinney and Cantrell: Sure, why not.

Kinney: I've got pockets full of crystals, pal. You know what I'm saying?
Yeah we're real New Age guys. Us and Yanni are just like real...

Cantrell: We like to hang out with Yanni and Kitaro.

Kinney: Us and Yanni back and forth.

Cantrell: Yanni, Chris Cornell. Yanni, Chris Cornell. There was this one
photo we saw that was really hilarious.

Kinney: Photo of Yanni that, when Chris had longer hair, they looked
exactly the same.

Cantrell: It was like one of those separated at birth things.

Kinney: You never saw them together either. Come to think of it, you
never see Cornell at Yanni's parties and you never see Yanni at Cornell's
parties. It's got to be the same guy.

ATN: Double life?

Cantrell: Could be.

hope you enjoyed it

Subject: Dream thread...

Yah, I know... "Shroom, why are you starting a new thread NOW when we've
got thirty million going? Where were you with this a couple weeks ago when
we had nothing to talk about?" Okokok... just shoot me. Actually, the idea
for this thread came from Marianne. She was discussing a cool SG dream she
had, and that started me thinking (damn little brain cells won't die no
matter how hard I try to kill 'em off). Anyone out there care to share any
groovy SG related dreams? Not the wet dreams (of course), and I'm sure there
have been MANY of those. You can e-mail the nasty ones directly to me ;)...
But if you've ever traded shoelaces with Matt, or put lipstick on Chris
(which could be a wet dream. Ummm... never mind...) while unconscious...
post it!! Unfortunately I don't dream about Chris all that often. Strange,
isn't it? I usually end up dreaming about Jerry Cantrell. I swear... that
guy shows up in my dreams more often than I do. I did dream about both Chris
and Jerry one night. So here it is:

I arrived at my old high school one morning, ready for classes. Then I
noticed that instead of clothes, I was wearing this penguin costume. It was
huge, and I had little flippers, and the penguins mouth was open, and that's
where my face was. Anyway... I went into the commons (lunchroom), and I just
KNEW that everyone was going to laugh at me. I thought they were going to
massacre me for wearing this stupid costume to school. So I go into the
commons, and everyone turns and looks at me. It gets real quiet, and I'm
waiting for them to start laughing. Then everyone comes up to me and starts
telling me how cool it is. They say how they wish THEY had thought to wear a
penguin suit first. It was weird. So anyway... suddenly I'm out on the
football field, and the marching band is practicing. I notice that they're
all wearing Ronald Reagan masks, which I think is odd, but I don't question
it. I'm weaving inbetween them while they're marching, and I end up close to
the school doors. Then I notice that the tuba players are Jerry and Chris!!
They're wearing the band uniforms, and instead of the usual band hats,
they've got on stocking hats that have looong tails, and balls on the end.
And they're carrying their tubas. Jerry is like "That's a COOL penguin
costume Shroom!!" I said "Ummm... thanks Jerry." Then Chris says "Hey
Shroom... we're having a concert tonight after the football game. Would you
get up onstage and jam with us in that COOL penguin suit?" I was like
"Whaaaaaaat? Ummm... sure, I guess so. But I don't play any cool
instruments." Chris says "Well, you can play your trumpet. It'll be
cool!!." So I say yes, and suddenly either polka or tejano music starts
playing. Then Chris and Jerry dropped their tubas and start doing a kind of
cha-cha-cha dance with each other...
Then I woke up. That was a strange dream. Ok... maybe this is a stupid
thread. It's the drugs... I swear!! Ummm... yah... <kisskiss>

My family: my parents aren't too into Soundgarden. I think I've played

From: "SANCHEZ MORTE, FCO. JOSE" <psanchez@MSF.UNIZAR.ES>

This weekend the best spanish broadcasting (RNE
RADIO 3 POP) broadcast a interview with Chris
Cornell, in the radio magazine "de 4 a 3" between
16:00 to 18:00 C.E.T. Saturday and Sunday
Ithink Radio 3 Pop is available Via Satellite in
Europe but i don't know if is es available in
other places.

I listened since one month ago songs like "Burden
in my hand" or "Pretty Noose" in this radio
magazine.

This is my first mail to the list and my english
isn't good, Sorry.

Now in spanish.

Canciones como "Burden in my hand" o
"Pretty Noose".

Subject: How is SG connected to Twin Peaks?

Every once in a while I'll do a new Soundgarden search on the web just to
see what pops up. I found A twin peaks page that had a reference to SG, so
I checked it out and tooled around the faq and found:
Q: Is that actor in the Soundgarden video "Black Hole Sun" the one who
played Killer Bob?
A: No, though the sean may have been inspired by Twin Peaks, it is not the
same actor (Frank Silva)

I guess only people who watched Twin Peaks will know what they are talking
about. It took me a few minutes, but I'm assuming they're talking about
that greasy guy in the white tank top who combs his hair while looking in
the mirror at the end of the video.
Now, speaking of the much-played BHS video (which, since I didn't have mtv,
I did not O.D. on, but got my healthy share of), how many different
versions of that thing were there. I'm pretty sure at one point I counted
up to three. Anyone?

I saw the following in the magazine Q from May:

"Courtly woo-manship rather than scathing self-analysis has inspired The
Afghan Whigs to cover Barry White's Can't Get Enough Of Your Love, Baby for
the forthcoming Uma Thurman and Matt Dillon movie, Beautiful Girls. Singer
Greg Dulli was the executive producer of the soundtrack, ushering an
unlikely band of troubadoers to record the theme song, namely Pearl Jam
guitarist Mike McCready, Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron and Seattle
singer/songwriter Pete Droge."

I knew about Pete Droge, because he did his song for the soundtrack at the
Dave Letterman show Eddie appeared in, but did anybody read or hear about
Mike? I hope this is true! :):)

It was just on!
I'm so excited.
Thank god my roommate left school last week or he would've called those men

I was totally freaking out.
IT'S SO GOOD!
I had called the Q101 dj and begged her to play it and she said she would.
I had to take a break for breakfast, so I called and made sure she wouldn't
play it while I was eating.
I never thought that I would say it, but Q101 is so cool for being so

Call your radio stations and MAKE them play this song.
Quote on my board today: "And I don't like what you've got me hangin' from."

I deleted the message so I can not remember who made the statement
about their older sister changing her tastes in music and that you
guess thats what happens when you get in your late 20s and into your
30s--you start to listen to safe music. Well I have something to say
about that. I'm in my late 20s and I still listen to SG, COC, AIC
and other various bands but I also listen to Kenny G and have even
seen him in concert (and he was very good). As I've gotten older and
wiser (yea, right), I've come to realize that music is a wonderful
thing because there is such a variety out there and to sound
(metaphysical) opening your mind and appreciating other types of music
(although I do have a hard time with appreciating country) is a good
way to grow in your knowledge and experience of it. So I will get off
my soap box and expect for others to totally flame me and then I will
never write anything on here again which will probably be appreciated
by all!

Subject: Other Bands...
From: Brydon Cheyney CS95 <bcheyney@cs.strath.ac.uk>

Yes I know this is a Soundgarden page but are any of you into any
other stuff in a big way? I can't believe people who are stuck on one
band and one band only - that's so shallow!

To me Soundgarden are an amazing band - I've been into them since I bought
Louder Than Love after being blown away by the Loud Love single when it was
released - but there are other bands that mean just as much to me.

Kyuss and Monster Magnet were two bands I got into a couple of years
ago through a friend, and they fucking SLAY! I'm sure anyone that
appreciates SG could appreciate these bands - they're so monsterously
cool, with the similar 'Sabbath' vibe to them that SG possess. I went
on to get all their stuff, and there isn't a duff song amongst any
album (apart from a 33 minute Monster Magnet song called 25 (why not
call it 33?)). Trouble is, Kyuss are no more! I was all set to see
them with Faith No more here in Glasgow Scotland and when FNM pulled
out they took Kyuss back with them who then split! Aaaarrgh! Looks
like my dream bill of SG, Monster Magnet and Kyuss is fucked for
good...

And that is only the beginning! Pantera, Sabbath, COC, Tumbleweed,
Black Crowes, a FUCKING BRILLIANT British band called the WiLDHEARTS,
the awe inspiring Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Frank Zappa, Lynyrd
Skynyrd, Janes Addiction, Ministry, Skrew, Screaming Trees, Alice in
Chains, Paw, Manic Street Preachers, the list goes on and on and on...

I think being a musician (guitarist) helps to accept a lot more music,
without the usual "This is shit..." retort at anything new.

'Scuse me for my ramblings but this seems to be a pretty cool page and
if anyone has any addresses for Monster Magnet or Kyuss please let me
know.

I suppose I should redeem myself by throwing in some relavent stuff in
here -

I asked before about Louder Than Live, but I'd like to ask again for
any British subrcibers as most of you people are American and are in a
bit of a different situation...

I'd like to get the Vid and the CD, but what would I be expected to
pay for these? I'm sure the vid was released commercially in Europe
at some time but I can find no trace of it's existence. I can
remember seeing a live performance of Get on The Snake (I think) on a
British Rock TV programme so surely it was available here at some
time? I have NEVER seen it or the CD but DAMN I need them so bad!
There are a couple of big record fairs coming to town soon so I'll
check there (as usual) and probably come away disappointed (as usual).
Will this have to be a mail order thing? How much will it cost (in
pounds sterling).

Phew.

Thanks in advance for any help. And for reading this far.

Cheers

WOW! As a lot of you know, the tape player in my car kinda caught on
fire last week, so today, I was driving, and flipping through the
stations, trying to find something half decent to listen to, and PRETTY
NOOSE WAS ON! It's just so great hearing that kinda stuff on the
radio. And I just installed 5 more speakers in my car, making a total
of 7, so I played it LOUD! I already had this song on tape for a while
now, but I just HAD to tell someone. IT WAS ON THE RADIO! I know it's
been on everyone else's radio for a while now, but this is my local
(local as is 2 hours away) station, and the usually play shit. BUT IT
WAS PRETTY NOOSE! I love this country. And now I'm kinda glad my tape
player exploded. Ok, so if I had one I could listen to it anytime I
wanted to...my life sucks.

I can't quote the document (from Thurs April 19) but I couldn't agree
more with Moonsta and caryn.

I'm 33 and my husband asks me when I'm going to outgrow "this." Meaning
being into Sg, music and wanting to go to shows and concerts. My
immediate and only answer was, "NEVER." One of my theories that he gives
me such a bad time about Sg (besides the fact that he got hit in the head
with a beer bottle at a Sg show at the Kitsap Bowl and his pipe was
confiscated at another Sg show in Seattle) is that he knows how hot I
think Chris is. Or he has just mellowed too much in the last few years.

And caryn, I'm with you. I like it loud. I think I've blown a speaker in
my car. Unless I'm home alone, it's my only other sanctuary where I can
crank it up without bothering anyone else. Speaking of shows, are you
going to Inflatable Soule at Moes tomorrow? The husband said he would
go, but we just got a puppy Sunday and he doesn't want to leave him alone
that long. Then again, it might just be an excuse. We were gonna stay
the night and enjoy it (we're an hour out of Seattle, in Olympia). I may
just leave him at home anyway. He does like IS. He also agreed to go to
Lolla, but that may have changed too. We'll just have to bring puppy
with cause I'm not going to let that stop me!

This is my first post to the group, although I have been hanging around
for a while. Because of my e-mail address, I am unable to receive
messages from the list (daily or digest form). So I have to catch up
whenever Seth posts the latest digests to his page. By the time I get to
them (at work) days have gone by. I try to refrain from appearing to be
an idiot, at least most of the time, so I haven't been that brave.

And to Nothingman, sorry. I already put my check in the mail today
before I read that you wanted money orders. It won't bounce, I promise!

I missed Pretty Noose on the radio this morning. They're supposed to
play it again later. Hopefully I'll be around this time!!

The Toledo show I've heard nothing about, but the Boyne show
may well be out. Here's a summary of what I've found about various dates...
These shows seem to be out:
	June 28, Sedalia, MO
	July 5 Boyne, MI
	July 9 Northampton, MA
	July 15, Allentown, PA
	Aug 7, Yakima, WA
These have poppoed up instead:
July 9, Pownal, VT Green Mountain Park (near Albany, not certain,
Pownal town council was/is supposed to be deciding soon)
dates unknown, but probably between July 9 and July 15-
		Atco, NJ Atco Speedway
		Weedsport, NY Speedway
	July 15-Atlas, PA
Other than that, all the dates are the same as before, but remember
also that they are all still tentative. Second Stage announcements
are due "soon" (whenever that is), and the 1st tickets supposedly
will go on sale May 1. Oh yeah, fwiw, all my pages should be compatible

title..need I say more?) but no Pretty Noose. I was beginning to think
my last hope was the college station, but I found them playing Slayer at
9:30pm and I thought they'd laugh at my request. Finally I turn it on
Z-Rock just in time to hear the dj saying:
"Coming up, some new music from Soundgarden."
My finger apprehensively rested on the record button on the stereo's
remote. Finally the wonderful sounds of Pretty Noose came drifting
through the speakers. I feel like I've accomplished what I've sent out
to do today, and now I can peacefully go to bed. What I mean to say is,
I fucking hate the radio. I really don't like sitting here for two
hours listening to Collective Soul and waiting for the new goddam
Soundgarden song to come on, I think it's easier just waiting for the
new album.

...and the sad thing is, I'll be calling Z-Rock nonstop, trying to get
them to play Never Named or Overfloater.

I've heard that. I've also heard that the vinyl will be released on
May 13 in Europe, so that might apply to Australia as well.

Hi all...Someone on the list mentioned a big article about Sg that was in
Request magazine, Oct. of 94....I've looked everywhere and can't find
it. I'm sorry I don't remember who that was but whoever it was could you
let me know where to get a hold of that magazine? I would greatly
appreciate it. I hope all is well with everyone....
P.S. when does the single for Pretty noose come out? April 23rd?
thanx

It's near Syracuse, according to my source. He also mailed me
back afterwards, and said the local paper said it would either
be at Weedsport or at the Syracuse Fairgrounds...we'll see
soon enough, I suspect/hope.
