A few people have asked me how to get to the SG clips that you can
hear with Streamworks, so I figured I would just post the info here.
This is exactly what I just added to the DOTU Web page:

- -----

Interested in hearing sound clips from the new album? Someone has
stumbled upon 5 tracks out there on the Net that can be played with
Xing Technologies' Streamworks software! The available clips (which
are all between 40 and 50 seconds long) are "Pretty Noose," "Burden In
My Hand," "Blow Up The Outside World," and two whose titles I can't
figure out. The first step is to download Streamworks from Xing's
website and get it all set up and working. Then, using the Setup
option, make sure the following servers are in the list of Servers:

Name: Radio Nowhere 1
IP Address: 149.174.129.5
Port: 1558

Name: Radio Nowhere 2
IP Address: 149.174.129.6
Port: 1558

Using the Browse option, refresh the list of Known Servers; you should
see 2 Radio Nowhere servers listed. Streams 2 has the five clips for
28.8k and ISDN connections and Streams 3 has the clips for 9.6k
connections.

Hope this helps.

I just heard this ad on Q101 for Rock The Vote w/ two SG songs in the
background: Spoonman and FOBD (I think)
I guess it's not that weird.
Probably the weirdest place was when they played "Outshined" at this strip club.
I was there for my friend's f*cking birthday, okay? :)

I went to a CD store near me and looked at the Soundgarden imports.
I saw this 2-disk set that just looked like Badmotorfinger, but it had a
second CD and the back said "Disk II - SOMMS". It was selling for $50, and
the store has a little note on the case that says "only 2500 made". I
already have Badmotorfinger, and I was wondering about the second Cd in
there. It only had about 5 more songs on it. What makes SOMMS so great?
Is this SOMMS? Is $50 a good price? Any input would be appreciated.

Yes, that is SOMMS indeed. The little note is worng though, as far as I
know. I believe there were 100 000 of them made. If it is in excellent
condition, $50 might be worth it. You might not see another copy for
sale for a very long time. You might use the fact that there were
100000 of them made to get the store to lower its price. I guess what
makes somms so great is that it is soundgarden and it is rare.

yep, that's SOMMS. and i guess $50 is a good price -- around here (seattle)
i've seen it for $60 and $80.

i actually totally lucked into my copy about a month ago -- saw three copies
in a case with a sticker saying $30 and i thought it was a mistake, or that
it couldn't be SOMMS, but it was. i went back the next week to buy another
one and they had all disappeared.

as to what makes somms so great... chris cornell singing 'stray cat
blues'??? *meow* (c'mon, shroom, join in with me here. then again i doubt
the stones are ringing your chimes exactly ;-) )

and 'into the void' needs to be put on LOUD.

i dunno. it's just stuff that imo any sg fan can't live without.

Hello all,
I recently went away for a coupla days and came back to find my mailbox
STUFFED! with e-mail. Anyways, I'm all caught up on my reading. I hope
my server didn't bounce any important messages. Thanks for "Digging the Garden"
J.T.
While I was gone, I picked up two very cool CDs. The first was
"Stone Free:
A tribute to Jimi Hendrix" Got it for about 8 bucks, in the bargain bin! It
kicks ass. Along with the great version of "Hey Baby (Land of the New
Rising Sun)"
by M.A.C.C. (McCready, Ament, Cornell, Cameron, a collaboration by the 4 of 'em)
there are great versions of "Manic Depression" "Red House", and "Crosstown
Traffic".
Clapton does a great job with "Stone Free" also. I like it in "Hey Baby" when
CC starts singing "May I come along?"
I also picked up AIC's "Sap" Very fucking awesome. "Got Me Wrong" and
"Right Turn" kick. Chris' vocals on "Right Turn" are good, especially the part
when he starts screaming "It's hard to believe, somebody tricked you" along
with Stanley and Cantrell. Layne Stanely's vocals rule on this EP.
That's all for now.

Yeah, I had no problem getting through the first few times, and then I

Noose is a really cool song! Aside from the quality of the sound which
could be likened to really poor am radio, the song is excellent. I can't
wait to get the disc to play it really loud.

WX> I went to a CD store near me and looked at the Soundgarden imports.
WX>I saw this 2-disk set that just looked like Badmotorfinger, but it had a
WX>second CD and the back said "Disk II - SOMMS". It was selling for $50, and
WX>the store has a little note on the case that says "only 2500 made". I
WX>already have Badmotorfinger, and I was wondering about the second Cd in
WX>there. It only had about 5 more songs on it. What makes SOMMS so great?
WX>Is this SOMMS? Is $50 a good price? Any input would be appreciated.

AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!! WHY CAN'T I EVER SEE THIS!!! BUY IT!!!

Sorry I can't make this message REALLY relate to Soundgarden, but it's a
hell of a lot more Soundgarden related than some of the posts I've seen
today =) Also the singer of the band I'm going to inquire about was in a
band with Matt.. so... =) Anyway...

What happened to Gruntruck?

I really like them, and it just occurred to me that I haven't heard from
them in years. Maybe I've got my head in the sand =) Did they break
up? Have they put a new album out? Are they recording one? What's
going on? If anyone knows, if you could tell me, it'd be appreciated.

For nothingman's sake, I think everyone who is not a US resident
should send US money orders. Then he won't have to worry about
exchanging foreign currencies.
