The Quaker Oats guy. It's the right thing to do.

The post about Peter Cornell reminded me of this. Somebody told me that
his brother and sister were in a band called Peace, Love, and Guitars, or
something like that. A few years ago in Seattle, I saw Peace, Love, and
Guitars---or whatever they were called---open up for pursuit of happiness.
They were okay, but nothing like SG music-wise or talent-wise. Noone in
the band looked like Chris, except for one guy who looked like what you
would get if Chris and Kim mated. Does anybody know if in fact anyone in
this band is related to Chris?

You'll probably kill me Seth, but I was thinking about some other mailing
lists I've been on with their supporting web pages and what made them
special. What I suggest is that you keep a log of all concerts with
Soundgarden (whether it be Lollapoluza, SG top bill or SG supporting),
including reviews from people that were there and the set list that was
played. This would not have to be limited to concerts coming up - people
could dig up memories of concerts they have been to over the years and write
about them too. From there, tallies could be kept on each song to see how
often each song of Soundgarden gets played...

The downside is obviously that it requires a lot of work and server
space...but I find the reviews pretty interesting as well as I'd like to see
how often each Soundgarden song pops up in concert.

In addition to this, a database of magazine articles could also be kept,
where people type in any little Soundgarden tidbit, include the magazine,
date etc, and we can look them up straight from SOMMS...

I'd advise you not to buy 'Eye' or 'Omega Paradise' and from what I recall
avoid 'Coverin`' and 'Moonlight on Vermont'. 'Eye', 'Coverin`' & 'MoV' have
tracks that are studio recordings with dubbed crowd noise. 'OP''s a rehash
of other boots... including the Louder than Live and Motorvision vids.
(Well, 'Fortissimo'/'LtLive' & 'Digging the Garden' in boot terms.) For
extensive boot information check Seth's web site (plug) which conects
directly to Steven Russell's Soundgarden bootlist discog (double plug)...
very helpful boot info.

<<Should I spend $30 on the other 2 (that's $30 each).>>?
I'd have to say that $30's a little steep (but not too bad) for just about
any boot as it is... I rarely pay more than $25 for singles & $40 for
doubles... then again I get good deals for being a regular purchaser at the
local shops around me. I recall that Bill from Bill's Records & Tapes
charged $40 (single)/$60(double) for boots to non-regulars, but he had just
about everything under the sun by many artists...

This is funny. This morning at church (Easter, you know) there was a
guy that looked just like Peter Cornell. He fit all the descriptions,
but he didn't say anything about my fork, so I guess it wasn't him. ;)

Great suggestion, Jackhammer!

I don't know if anyone on the list remembers this, but there was a
section on the original version of the SG page in early 1994 for
concert reviews and "Soundgarden experiences" that fans sent me. There
were only about 6 contributions, and I eventually eliminated them when
the page was revised. I would be more than happy to have such a
section again, though I'd like to make it available to everyone, not
just list members. I think it would be easier (for me, anyway) if I
worked out a way to automate this. Perhaps a form for people to write
about the shows that outputs an HTML file directly so I don't have to
deal with 300 set lists and reviews individually.

Perhaps this can be a list project at first, if everyone would be
willing to help out, and then it can go public so other people could
fill in the blanks.

I'll send mail to the list when I've set everything up...

Server space is no problem. Stargate graciously provides as much as I
need (and I'm already up at more than 150MB, I think). If I can
automate most of it, it won't be all that much work, and even if it
is, I don't mind. Soon it will be summer, and without school to worry
about, I'll need something to keep me busy.

Stay tuned for the next major addition to the SG page. It's coming
soon... :)
