have raised any suspicions at all deb. I'm willing to bet that it *was*

good to hear that matt's playing around on the web, but it sort of begs
the question: how long has matt and/or the rest of the band been keeping
up with developments on the unofficial webpage? I like to think that
while they keep nodding their collective head when management tells them
all about the rocktropolis site, they are secretly rooting for seth's

listen for songs that aren't on the album? I'm hoping (pie in the sky, I

My opinion, too. We ARE individuals. Just look at our different (but
sometimes very similar) tastes in music. And we are all different, as
opposed to those "cool" MTV junkies. I know I'm an individual, even
though I am part of this list (and glad, too). If it weren't for us

I haven't seen the fonts yet, so i don't know about them. I might go
in to the shirt place and see what the guy has on his computer, and
maybe take in the designs and get some kinda estimate, so we can get
the money taken care of soon. And we don't have to tell them that
SOMMS is somms@mit.edu, because the name of the list is SOMMS, while
the domain is merely @mit.edu. I know, I'm on crack, but I like it
simple.

Long sleeves will be more expensive, too (if he even has long sleeves).
But I know he has short sleeve shirts by the hundreds, and they are
pretty cheap. Nice quality, but un expensive.

The man deals with three colors. Black (I doubt our design would show

It's more of an off-white...kinda like that natural like someone was

"Into the Void" by Black Sabbath, besides on the SOMMS disk? For those

certain import singles or something, I hope?? Right now all I've got is

I agree it is definatly not selling out...as someone pointed out, selling
out is doing records just like the company asks you too, so they all can
make money and be happy, I am sure we all know a few of these bands.

As for SNL....hmmm have to belive Seth.....and now who is going to tape
this and send it down here to AUSTRALIA!! :) we don't get SNL only Dave
letterman..and god I hate him....gets good guests but Dave himself is a dick.

Too bad live and sweaty is gone :) SG on live and sweaty that would have

You feel that just because SG sees doing SNL is a sell-out, that it
automatically makes it true. Just because someone plays on SNL doesn't make
them a sell-out. SNL is barely watched by anyone anymore. Besides, it's just
like going on Letterman, Leno, etc.

for long sleeves and short sleeve t-shirt orders.people who want a long

Not to put a fly in the soup (bad joke). But in the beginning it was said that
the soup was not permitted because of copyright infringements. NOT TRUE. In
my early research, I found you can use the images of products you simply need
to change the fonts and other small features. You can also call the company
and tell them you would like to use it (in good taste - another bad joke) and 9
times out of 10 they will give you permission. They see it as an endorsement
of their products. The Graphic Designer I was working with, also thought the
soup was a good idea.. Only problem is the number of colors would have made
the cost go up..

But if you check the voting - I think we are going for the fork w/the letter

4) snl and selling out: well, when you can't fucking tour because
ticketmaster has a monopoly on every viable venue in the country (btw, am
i the only one who noticed that quite a few of the lolla dates were at
venues that were NOT exclusively TM? hmmmm?) why not appear on a show
that is broadcast all over the country and the world so your fans can see
you? pj made a decision about tm and are sticking to it, which i think
is about as far from selling out as you can get. but then again, i was
warned of the idle pj bashing that takes place on this list. whatever.

i respect their reasons for doing snl as much as i respect sg's reasons
for *not* doing it. althought i think they could still do it their way
and have fun and let us get a look -- it has been quite a while, hasn't
it? they aren't comfortable so they shouldn't.

am here to defend myself, and maybe even make amends with some of y'all...
maybe...

Darlin'... believe me, if I had the time, the patience, and the
opportunity to start a list like that, I would. But as I have NONE of
those... <sigh> I think you get my drift. So far I have gotten probably 30
letters from people (not ALL women) who have gotten a kick out of my posts.
I have recieved 1 (count 'em... ONE) letter from a person suggesting I cut
back on the CC fantasies. You know... if some of y'all are having a problem
with my letters, you might look at some of the "offensive" posts and notice
that I have my very own e-mail address. Wow!!! Revelations!! Why not drop
me a line and say "Hey Shroom... cut your shit!! I don't wanna read about
Chris' sexy body anymore!!". You know... for a predominantly younger crowd,
you're awfully shy and (as I already mentioned) conservative. But hey...
it's your prerogative to be any way you wish... as is it mine.

I agree that I most definitely do not speak for all of you!! And
regarding the sexist aspect of it, personally I would have no problem with
the men discussing women on the list. But, as there are no women in SG (wow,
thanks for that newsflash Shroom), there is going to be little harassment of
them. Truetruetrue... Chris is one the most talented people I've ever
seen... and I respect him for that... but what can I say? I think the man is
gorgeous! And... call me insane... but I get tired of reading what is
essentially the same posts... over and over again. I sometimes find the list
rather dry. Of course... you could argue that my posts are beginning to
become rather repetitive. Point well taken, Shroom. But never fear... I can
come up with tons of new ways to amuse and offend some of y'all. And it will
all concern Soundgarden. =)

>My opinion, too. We ARE individuals. Just look at our different (but

>I mean.
I know what you mean, too. At least I think I know what you mean. If
I'm wrong, please correct me. Hello people... meet Shroom, the individual.
My opinions are obviously VASTLY different from some of yours, and if you
don't care to read my posts... let me clue you in on something. There is
this really nifty little feature that comes equipped with your e-mail
software... it's called DELETE. If you find me overly offensive, just get
rid of my mail before you even read it. Surely you can distinguish my e-mail
from the others. See how easy that was?
So... I've outlined two ways to help control the terrible hell-bound
Shroom
1- send me a note expaining why you despise me. Perhaps we can work
something out. I'm not trying to make enemies. I'm just having fun meeting
other SG freaks; and I'm making some really groovy pen-pals/friends!!
2- Delete my mail.
Have I covered everything? Yah... I know this letter isn't exactly
polite, and it's certainly not very apologetic. But I never was one for
conforming or ass-kissing anyway. Ok... I should apologize at least once to
all the people I've offended. So to the ones who think I'm out of line, I'm
sorry for causing you any undue stress in your lives. I don't expect that
many of the offended will accept my apology, but again... that's your
prerogative. =) I'm certain to get publicly flamed for this letter, but
if some of you are too shy to post anything to the list, feel free to send
your scathing hate mail directly to me!! <kisskiss>

For those of you who think that Kim Thayil does the vocals on Exit
Stonehenge, I would probably have to disagree. On the bootleg
"Garden of Souls", after Somewhere, Chris says, "JESUS!" and it
sounds like the same vocal on Exit Stonehenge. After he says that
the CD sounds like it's been edited because the crowd noise changes
slightly. Maybe they played Exit Stonehenge and it got cut off.
Anyways it goes straight to Beyond The Wheel.

Subject: like stuff

Hi, new to group.
First of all, whats with all the sex talk and drolling over Chris
Cornell. The real sex symbol of the group is obivously Ben Shepherd.
Ben rules. When I saw Soundgarden at Wings Stadium, Ben was hilarious.
He kept gesturing to a female in the front roll to take off her top.
Whoever said Soundgarden didnt like groupies?

As being new to the group, I dont know this has been addressed but on my
bootleg copy of Stolen Prayers. This song just stops in mid sentence and
all at little after the five minuite mark. Is this the same with most
versions of the song? Anyway, I like the demo version of Spoonman a tons
more than the album one but thats just my opinion.

Subject: Sexy Chris

I think all of us, guys and chicks, think SG music is the best. But come on,
Chris is about the sexiest musician out there, partly because he doesn't
flaunt the part. (Of course my hubby would disagree because he thinks Chris
only takes his shirt off in concert to turn the babes on. I must admit, I'd
be disappointed if he didn't, but the bands sound and especially Cornell's
lyrics are what hooked me into the band. I'll never forget waking up from
drowsing on my couch watching Headbangers Ball (remember that show?) and
seeing the video for Loud Love. I was mesmerized - it was the first time I
saw or heard them. And it was the first time in ages I'd seen anything good
on Headbangers Ball (I believe this was in 1989 or so).
So, anyway, just because you're hot for someone doesn't mean you can't like
them for other reasons too. I also think Chris is a really together person
and is very "real" unlike alot of other "rock stars".

I believe I was also referring to how women are judged to be "sluts"
when they dress "scantily" in the hot weather; while men can run around half
naked, and it isn't given a second thought. But yah, I guess being a
"slut"/groupie kind of woman has it's advantages. Ok... so I'm still a
hypocrite. Calm down people. Listen, if someone in a band invites you onto
their tour bus to drink beer and smoke weed, you don't say no. Especially if
it's a band you like. But even if you don't like the band, why turn down
free beer and weed? Yah, I know there's going to be at least one person out
there (probably more) who's going to say "I don't drink beer or smoke weed,
so I wouldn't get on the bus". Fine, have it your way. Wait outside where
it's hot, and suffer. And no, not all bands let in loose-looking women
because they (as it was so eloquently put) "want some". Some are very nice
and decent guys who understand that when it's 90 degrees in the shade, the
vast majority of their female fans aren't going to be running around in a
nun's habit. <kisskiss>
