Don't do that Jamie. This is going to be a once off thing, and if we are
going to do it we should do it right. Neither Urbano nor N-man have done
any of the research into the quality that you did. In the end we are
going to get what we pay for, and for something like this I'd rather pay
the price and get a decent job done.

Ok, I guess. But make sure you put the same size that you put on the
other thing you sent to Carolyn, because I will probably use the sizes
from her list. It'll be easier.

man, do i have to do _everything_ around here? i checked out all of
the afghan whigs pages, and was directed to a page for the 'beautiful
girls' disc itself. there's no mention of mcready or soundgarden
anywhere, but there was a chris isaak soundclip. are you sure you
didn't confuse your research notes for some future post with your
'beautiful girls' notes?

The above 3 things are fine on their own, but I think it would be a bonus to
have somms@mit.edu on there somewhere.. OK, that's all I wanted to say about
that.. :)

Dear Fellow listers,

If you emailed me about the Reading Fest video...

PLEASE EMAIL ME AGAIN ASAP!

I didn't print off everyone's messages, there were only 6 or 7, and I
need to tell you something. DO NOT send tapes until you email me!

And just so I'm not posting twice and getting hundreds of confirmations
cluttering my server....

Everyone's all jazzed about Lolla, and I think it's great, but I don't
think I'm going to drive 4-6 hours just to see Sg do a 45 minute set.
I'm waiting for the Sg headline tour that they are to be doing after
they play in Europe, or at least that was the plan I heard. Just a
personal preference, but something I thought of as I saw so many
postings wondering where stuff was and why weren't they playing here
and there. I simply prefer to see an all-Sg show! What's anyone
else's thoughts?

The guy who's does the shirts around here is pretty good. He makes
tons of shirts for all the businesses here, and I have a friend who
worked there, and he made some shirts too, and he made some for
himself, and they are pretty good quality. So the shirts won't be
generic, but don't expect Official Soundgarden shirt quality, because I
doubt anyone does that. Unfortunately, the guy only does shirts in
black, white, and tan (which is more of an off-white/natural color). I
doubt the design would show up on a black shirt, so I guess it's either
white, tan, or some more ideas.
And the addresses have been coming in like crazy, keep 'em comin'.
If you want more info on theat guy who makes shirts, tell me, and I'll
find out whatever you wanna know. And if it's possible, I guess I
could get a sample of his work and send it to Seth for the page.

A tour would be good, but who would you put on it.
Reading and Phoenix work because what they have caters for different
tastes. Reading has a comedy stage for instance. The lineuo for a tour
that I would like would be:
   Soundgarden (headlining of course)
   PUSA
   PJ
   FNM
   Smashing Pumpkins
& seeing as the tour would be in Britain
   Manic Street Preachers
The Manics are there because of their cool, very loud guitar moments
Also if you wanted a slightly more mellow moment
   The Lightning Seeds

YES, YES, YES!!! That's ALL we need on there!!!Exactly!!Now we just need a
damn color to put them on!

nah, just "SOMMS" would simply be better...I like the anonymity of it all....I
wanna have people at the concert coming up to me and saying "What the hell is
THAT supposed to mean?"----Good conversation starter.

If they ever did I would personally eat my entire CD singles collection
(even the Radio only Terrorvision CD's I have). Hey Matt I'm from Sussex
- - where do you reckon they could play the gig in Sussex

Back to Soundgarden - Did anyone answer the question what tracks did Kim
play on on the PUSA album. I just went to the official PUSA homepage
and I couldn't find any mention of it there, allthough I did play noughts
and crosses using tinned peaches.

hello everyone....
obligatory posting for the week:
first of all, with all this artis the spoonman talk, thought that i would
share that artis himself played on campus here at USF (U of San
Francisco) early last December. He was really wacky, but i HAD to go,
even though i rather dislike the SG song about him...it was a victim of
overplay back home in SoCal...and NO, he did not play the song, but he
did do a lot of weird drug-inspired poetry and a few long solos...
and for Lolla...where can i find the dates, particularly for (anywhere
in) California? I am assuming that it will play the Bay Area and LA and
San Diego, but i don't really want to be sitting in the mud either, so i
want to buy my tix ASAP...
and for Pearl Jammers: anyone know where i can find a boot of the 4/3/94
show? my dubbed version is really on it's last legs...

Subject: Soundgarden/Ghoul

Isn't it cool that Soundgarden will be doing Lollapalooza this year? In
limited venues, it appears that Ghoul wants to play the second stage. Their
already-planned summer tour may conflict with some of the Lollapalooza
dates which is why they can't play all of them.

Ghoul will tour to promote their forthcoming release tentatively titled,
"MCS Baggue etc." Their Damned cover of "Neat, Neat, Neat" is supposed to
be on it. Other premature tracks include a re-make of "Bucket of Xiao," one
of their biggest songs. This verson is a little slower but contains a rare
extended solo by guitarist Green Luther. Spike Brecht of D.R.I. sings
guest vocals on a song called "Remember Tomorrow," a song dedicated to
their original drummmer, Ric Reyes, who died of a drug overdose. Ghoul
should finally break into big time with this release. All of their stuff
is excellent but this should have a more loud, raw, and hard edge to it.

I would drive 4-6 hours to see SG play a half-hour set. This summer I
will be driving in excess of 8 hours to see them play at Lolla. And you
got to figure they will be playing for longer than 45 minutes. They are
second in line!

I'd love to go to the Vancouver show. OF course, I live in the centre of
the continent, and Vancouver happens to be at the edge of it. I've been
meaning to visit B.C. for a few years. I want to live there in fact.
That way I'll be close enough to go to Cornell's for dinner, and to see
some good shows. Anyway, who knows what the summer has in store. If I
go to that one I'll be sure to let you know dude.

Subject: attempted fraud!
From: seth <saperl@MIT.EDU>

I went to my favorite local record shop today in search of goodies,
and was rewarded when I saw that they had a copy of BMF/SOMMS on the
shelf for $25 (it's not that I really need more copies of it, but I
can never pass one up when I see one). Anyway, I opened it up to make
sure both discs were there, and that they were in good condition. They
were beautiful. It looked as though it had never been touched, dumped
straight out of the longbox and onto these shelves.

But then I realized that I had almost been tricked; the BMF disc was a
plain old BMF disc, not the one that's supposed to come with SOMMS.
There was no "DISC I" printed on it, and the catalog number matched
that found on the case of a single-disc BMF. I brought it up to the
guy who was working the cash register and explained the problem.
Several times, before he realized that I wasn't kidding. I told him I
would not pay $25 because it wasn't an original. He said, "Would you
pay $25 for the original?" Of course I would. He went to the back and
produced *another* copy of BMF/SOMMS, this one in mint condition with
the correct discs. That makes 3 copies of SOMMS that I've seen there
in the past several months.

I don't know what he plans to do with the SOMMS disc that doesn't have
the correct partner, but I assume he will either 1) put it back on the
shelf with the BMF disc and wait for an unsuspecting, non-mailing-
list-educated customer to pay $25 for it or 2) sell the SOMMS disc by
itself for much less. Either way, there is a SOMMS disc in that store,
and should you happen to live in the Boston/Cambridge area, go to
Second Coming Records on Mass. Ave., before you get to Harvard Square,
and demand that they produce the goods.

I think we definetly have to have somms@mit.edu on the shirt. Otherwise
nothing about it will identify with the net/mailing list. It will just be a
bootleg shirt of the e.p somms with a funny fork on the front.

I could see that arguement with Black hole sun, but Kyle Petty, I think
not. I really doubt that they will turn inot wusses on us. Actually, I

Okay, I guess you two guys haven't been on this list all that long - this
was talked about before Christmas. The Presidents album has 13 songs on it,
the 13th being "Naked and Famous" which has Kim Thayil playing guitar. Kim
is mentioned in the CD cover's credits for the songs. "Naked and Famous" is
just as fun and loopy as the rest of the songs by POTUSA (not forgetting
that great song about me called "Carolyn's Bootie" which can be found on the
"Lump" single), but even better (imho) because it has the great guitar
noodles by our Kim..........

Some people want the whole address on the shirt. I think that just
SOMMS would be better. Someone said they like the mystery of it, and
it's a good conversation starter. I agree totally. And having just
SOMMS where a pocket would be would probably less money. I dunno,

Ten wasn't too heavy. I mean, there was Porch, and Why Go, and Deep,
and Once, and a few others, but then again, there was Black (a GREAT
song, but soft), Release, and Garden. Vitology has some heavier songs
on it, like Last Exit, Spin the Black Circle, Whipping, and Satan's
Bed. And then there are the softer (but great anyway) songs, like
Immortality (Freakin' awesome), Nothingman (not bad ;), and Betterman.
And I love Not For You and Tremor Christ, although I have no clue what
TC is about. Anyone have a clue?

DA>heard Metallica cut their hair to look like a grunge band now, I bet
DA>they'll start to soften up too....

They probably just cut their hair, and some tabliod said it was to look
more "grunge." So what they cut their hair. That doesn't mean they'll
be any worse, although if they're trying to conform and be cool like
Chris...

DA>Smashing Pumpkins had a good thing
DA>going with Siamese Dream; now all I hear is that lame ass '1979" song on
DA>the radio, its pathetic, and Zero isn't too hot neither.

That 1979 song reminds me of older music. I loved Siamese Dream, but I
don't like these past couple songs they've released.

DA>that "Kyle Petty" song by SG too much, I hope that they don't conform

I hope you weren't trying to say this is a soft song. It's just as
heavy as the other stuff, and Chris' distorted vocals give it an even
heavier effect. I doubt they're gonna be wusses. No, not someone with
a fork. They aren't allowed to be wusses.

                                                             Nothingman
