I like the Badmotorfinger cover. That's my favorite logo. And I love
the way the writing is on that one. And on Loudest Love, Chris looks
like a girl, or like he has tons of white make up on to do a Kiss
cover, or something. And Matt looks like a girl, too.

Ths is the whole point we were trying to make. People don't take the
player's talent into consideration when they vote for the best
whatevers. They just say, "Oh, I love that band, so I'm gonna vote for
everyone in it." I know Flea would come close to Les talent-wise, but
Les wins. He rules the bass, and everything associated with it. Just
like Chris rules the vocals (and songwriting).

I specified blur and oasis in brackets. Those others you mention are
good, original bands. Even pulp, whose tunes I don't like, get respect
for being so good at taking the piss out of thier fans. The problem lies
with the british pop scene. It needs to be destroyed and rebuilt in a
shape that moves with the times, but also doesn't shit on truly great
acts such as SG - as though they were just the next //pool of
piss-shallow\\ pop group.

The UK music scene is one of the most varied and inspiring on the planet
and I would like to state for the record that all MUSIC lovers (you know
who you are) would get off on the variety of quality tunes we are lucky
enough to have. Britpop is not the way to advertise it.

My apologies for the page pollution,

It uses a lot of artwork from the homepage, embodying something special

Also it has the full address, which I also think is a sound idea 'cos

So f#?king what if it has 'soundgarden' on it.

I would love to see Liz Phair do a song w/SG or Cornell. The main reason
being, she is one of the few female rockers that i respect and admire.
Alanis MOrrisette just plain sucks. She goes around whining like Trent
Reznor's neglected little sister and has the world handed to her. I saw her
perform "You Oughta Know" live on Dave Letterman's show, and she was AWFUL!
She has a horibble, annoying voice which she has no control over. It
fluctuates all over the place. She had no talent when she did "You Can't Do
That on Television" and she has no talent now.

I had to comment here on this one as to how some people look at songs a
different way to others. I don't know Yngwie Malmsteen's work too well, but
while Kurt Cobain's songs have emotion, they have little going for them
technically. There isn't one song of Kurt's that I can't drum to and give me
a month on my guitar and I'll be playing them on guitar too... his chord
progressions were not innovative, but all of his songs were based on
bar/barre chords - Kurt himself admitted that.

I'm not flaming, I like Nirvana, but I disagree with the notion that Kurt
Cobain could be any standard in music writing (except for the lyrics) and I
certainly don't like Nirvana for the technical skill alone...

True, which is why I like AC/DC - simple stuff sounding good. But there is
always the side of me wanting something complex to listen to...and that's
where my love of Faith No More and Soundgarden kicks in...

However, when you're trying to compare musicians, it has to be done on a
technical basis. People like myself (and I don't know how many of you are
out there) analyse musicians because individual skills of players can be
incorporated into your own playing and you become a more rounded player for it

I have an explanation for that swirly stuff: the guy who was doing the

project into the Soundgarden directory. As Jackhammer said, it's been

I totally agree. I might not like Yngwie's music, but I'll be the
first to admit that he's freakin' awesome on a guitar. And Kurt Cobain
might not be the most technical player, but he writes good lyrics, and
at least half decent songs, but he puts emotion into it, and it rules
because of that. He even said once, about live performances, that he
didn't care if he hit all the right notes, as long as put his all into
it. And then there's Soundgarden, who has the technical and emotion
all combined into 4 people.

Yah... Layne's got a good voice... but I like Jerry's vocals better.
Quite a few of my friends like to sit around and argue whether or not a
certain person makes a band. For instance, most of them say that Chris IS
Soundgarden, and that any of the other guys could leave the band, but SG
would still exist. But if Chris left, SG would be no more (obviously). Same
goes for Eddie and PJ. But the general opinion on AIC is that if Layne left
AIC, Jerry could take over all of the vox with no problem. I agree totally.
 Anyone disagree?
Another re-occuring conversation is regarding cartoons. If Kim was a
cartoon, who or what would he be? Ben? Personally, I think Ben would make a

me why. I just two just connect in my mind. I'm just twisted, I guess.
