I have an idea! Possible art work for the T-shirt. Kind of a
running joke for me. One day I drew a picture of two flys and just
mailed it to my friend (he got the joke right away). I think we should
all draw some flys and send the drawings to who ever is making the
shirt. Then we could have some of our own art work on the shirt. (small
flys all over the shirt in the background).
I do not know if it is a good idea or not, maybe I just want
everyone to be Drawing Flys like me.

it. I've seen pictures of Chris with the fork on, but I didn't know it
was a fork, I didn't know what the fuck it was, I only knew that I liked
it and I wanted one. The fork is a good idea.

Remember, tons of flys in the background (our own art work!)

I like using quotes in everyday conversation. One day I was watching
"The Wonder Years" on TV, the whole Arnald family was at a wedding
reception. Some old guy was hitting on Mrs. Arnald, so I said to my
buddy, "hey, that old dude wants to go full on Kev's mom."
	I use "I ain't saying who but it wasn't me" about 11 times a
week. Does anyone esle try as hard as I do to get these quotes out?

Subject: Ministry fan base

My friend went to ticketmaster the morning the tickets for their Chicago
show went on sale. She said there were like thirteen people in line in
front of her buying radiohead tickets. Based on this small sampling, I
guess radiohead has a bigger fanbase than Ministry (area and demographics
aside). Since I'm pretty sure Soundgarden has a bigger fan base than
radiohead, by syllogism, they must have a bigger fanbase than Ministry.

I think bjork can handle that, she can scream her head off.... If someone
can do it, it must be bjork... But then i greatly like bjork and sgarden, so
to seem them perform together would be brilliant....

O'Riordan from the cranberries has became worse... She was brilliant on
Linger (dammit i love that song..), but No need to argue can't reach that
level... (except Zombie perhaps... but that song is overpopular...)

Ok, a ton of people want to know "How can I get that Jesus Christ
Pose PC speaker thinge?" (Heheh, JCP PC) Anyway when I replied to you I
forgot all the specifics. Whoopsie :> Anyway, go on AOL and do a
library search on the word Soundgarden and it'll find it for you. If
you can look for it by filename, it's JCPOSE.ZIP (I think I told someone
JCPOSE.EXE, well it's not, sorry, forgive me, I just got out of bed. :>)
Since it's a ZIPped file, you need PKUNZIP.EXE to unzip it, seeing as
you have to go in DOS to run PC speaker thinge, you can probably handle
that :> Ok, if you want to unZIP this, and if you don't have
PKUNZIP.EXE, look on AOL for that too, library search on the word
PKUNZIP and it should have it. Then in DOS type pkunzip jcpose.zip and
then type JCPOSE to run JCPOSE.EXE. When it asks you what speed, 1 is
fastest and 144, say (which is the tempo for the song, actually) is
SLOW. It's backwards. :> Course, AOL actually might extract the file
for you itself (mine did that), so you might not need PKUNZIP at all, or
you might actually have it, I can't see what's on your hard drive! I'm
sorry! I'll stop now!

I saw this poster of pearl jam in my friend's room (the same friend who
bought ministry tickets, btw) and two of the guys (I didn't know the names
of these two, but not Eddie or Stone) were wearing SG t-shirts. One was the
BMF logo shirt and the other was a picture of the band, with Kim up really
close and bug-eyed.

Also, does anyone know where the title "BadMotorFinger" comes from? I
always thought it sounded sort of like "BadMotherFucker."
I seem to find a lot of profanity in SG, though. I guess it could just be

To make a long story short...a badmotorfinger is a vibrator. (IMHO) There a
wierd tie in to an obscure 70's band (1974 I think) Montrose (whose first
singer was Sammy Hagar) that had a song called "badmotorscooter" on thier
self titled debut album. Also on the album is the exact! guitar sound as on
"Motorcycle Loop" in the intro to "badmotorscooter". The 'shifting of
gears' thing.

"get on your badmotorscooter and ride"

Kim did come up with the title didnt he?

I counted the live version of the demo because it is a distinctly
differrent version then the others. But your right, we can't count every
version ever recorded. But every time it is distinctly differrent it's a
new version. But you can only count one live tour performance. But the
self pollution broadcast is a distinct version because it's a live version
of the demo. However I don't really think that radio edit's and the video
version with 4 seconds more material should be counted as differrent
version. Because they are just the same as others, just longer or shorter.

Subject: Damned Tribute

I finally did my research and found out more of the line-up for the
Damned tribute album, "Damn You." It will be on Rhino Hippo Records,
Ghoul, Rampage, No More, and Frogskin's record label. The bands on the
album that I know thus far will be Ghoul on "Neat, Neat, Neat," Sick of
It All on "Stretcher Case," Shovel on "Sick of Being Sick," Brainfreeze
on "I Just Can't Be Happy Today," and Hose-Away on "New Rose."

The album should be great since these indie bands, mostly from New York
but not all, are real energetic and up-and-coming. This punk tribute
album should be cool.

The reason I mention Ghoul is because they used to do Soundgarden covers
in concert. They love the band.

"Damn You!" comes out March 28, so try to pick up a copy.

SOMMS is supposed to come as a secong disc with badmotorfinger. The
differences between the two:
back of somms lists 2 discs - BMF, SOMMS
different case; somms is in a double case
somms bmf says DISK 1; bmf does not
somms disc says DISK 2 at the bottom - does yours??
somms has different band picture (as Seth frightfully discovered one day)
edge of discs: bmf says 'BADMOTORFINGER'
		somms says 'BADMOTORFINGER/SOMMS'
I noticed there are 2 numbers: bmf: 75021 5374 2
			      somms: 75021 5401 2
inside back lists somms songs and contains lyrics to Into the Void(Sealth)
The lyric sheets are different too. On somms, the lyrics for JCP start
on the first page, on BMF they don't.
This is because the text beginning with
additional musicians is smaller on somms.
Other than that they are identical! hahaha. Anybody notica any other
differences? Does anybody have a copy of SOMMS which does not say 'DISK
1' on the bottom??

Subject: tee-shirt (what else?) - who wants one?

Well, the ideas are looking good on the web page! I don't mind either
twisted fork picture. I definitely think that 'Posting with my good eye
closed' should be written on the back on its own (as in, not written over
the top of a fork or any other design).

Oh, and while I quite like Steven's Kyle Petty shirt, I hope I am not alone
in thinking that our Somms shirt should not have swearing on it. Maybe I'm
hypocritical, but I'll say it, write it, read it, do it (!! - LOVE doing
it), but I draw the line at wearing it. Anyone out there in agreeance?

The writing font Steve used on the back of his shirt is excellent - if the
'Posting with my good eye closed' could be written like that all over the
shirt back I reckon it would look perfect.

Nothingman's idea of getting a count of who actually will buy a shirt is a
good one. I am quite happy to gather numbers. So, if you are going to buy
a list shirt, then email me with the subject title of "I WANT A SHIRT".
Please do so by Monday, 4 March. I'll add up numbers and let you know how
many we'll be in for.

Stay cool

A Leslie cabinet is an enclosed speaker structure inside which the
speaker rotates 360 degrees continuously. Apparently this produces
some bizarre sounds (like the intro to "Black Hole Sun"). I would
assume that the sound can be altered by varying the period of
rotation, so that a longer period results in a kind of throbbing
"wah...wah...wah" while a shorter period results in a higher pitched
whine a la BHS.

Okay... a Leslie cabinet is definitely an amplifier. My friend just
recorded an album and used one, but I've never seen one myself.

I was told this: It's a cabinet with a rotating speaker, which also
has a hole in it. It has a bizarre chorus-type sound (guitar players
should hopefully understand that..), and the rotation makes the sounds
occur at different places with different effects, depending on where
the sound is projected by the speaker's rotation.

Yeeesh. That made no sense. :)>

serious when he said that he thought Candlebox would do a good cover of
"Spoonman". Oops... I thought you were making a funny Nothingman.
Anyway... I thought I had a point to this letter. Oh yah... the
t-shirt. Any color is fine with me (maybe green or maroon?). I really dig
the fork idea, but the Clowns with Bazookas design is cool, too. SOMMS is
obviously going to be on the shirt. Has anyone checked into the copyright
laws concerning Soundgarden's name? And can we skip using one album's name
on the shirt? Yah... Badmotorfinger is cool, but why not Ultramega OK? Or
Superunknown? Although "Badmotorfinger me baby" sounds good. Ok... I've
babbled enough.

Clown just sent me his shirt request (remember - subject title is to be I

sort of sizes do you have in the States? How about I take orders for either
Small, Medium, Large or Extra Large. Sound okay?

So - now when you email me with subject I WANT A SHIRT, include in the body
of the message the size you want (only one of the above 4 sizes, please).
I'll then list everyone's name and size they want next Tuesday and post to
the list for people to check I've got it right before I confirm names and
numbers. Then at least we know numbers and sizes before we go about getting
the actual shirt printed.

NB: So Seth, Geoff, Foreshocks, S0undgardn, John Schmidt and Ross - send me
another note please, with your size.

a leslie cabinet is just like a very rapid chorusing effect. Yu can
simulate it with just about any chorus pedal if you pump the rate up real
fast and fuck around with the depth, assuming you play guitar. it's
really cool, but, in my opinion, only if used in moderation. after all,
we don't all want SG to sound like the Beatles all the time, right?
