Are they really six versions of that song? According to knowledge,
they're is the demo version, the video version, the live version, the

Somms contains the songs:
Into the Void(Sealth)
Girl U Want
Stray Cat Blues
She's a Politician
Slaves and Bulldozers(Live)

And the lyric in FOBD is "I'm a searchlight soul they say, but I can't

Hey that makes seven. Steve mentioned six, and Cw/B mentioned the live
demo version from the Self Pollution broadcast. (not No Attention). Of
course that is only if we are including versions besides officially
released versions. You have to draw the line somewhere or we could count
every time they ever performed the song.

I agree, which is why I said IF you could count FOBD (live).. I don't think
you can. So to sum up, there are only 3 versions of FOBD: Album, demo and
video. The video version being almost the same as the album version, I think
there is obne chord of difference between them..

You must have missed Steve's post, and a couple others. This means there
are 6 versions. In addition to the ones you mentioned, there is a live
version<4> which is a b-side to one of the FOBD singles. (I know, I own it)
And Steve mentioned that there are 2 versions of FOBD video version<5>, one
of which is 4 seconds longer than the other, and a radio edit<6>.

I know, what I am saying is that the song only appears in 3 guises, as above.
Live versions don't count as extra versions, even if they are recorded,
otherwise as you say we could count every time they did it live and someone
had a tape recorder..

I did mention that in my previous post, there is a slight difference in the
way the song is played... One of the chords is consistently different, there
is more difference in this recording than in a normal live recording, but you
could just say 2..

Ok, I see what you are saying. I'm saying it was released officially 6
times, and you are saying there are three versions. By your standards
there are only really 2 versions then, since the video version is almost

Subject: susan for president...

I went and listened to somms a couple of times after ross pointed
out how good the drumming is on she's a politician, and I have to agree
that I underrated it. there are some wicked little fills going on, and
matt drives the time changes around like a madman. this sort of song
underlines how important having a good drummer is to a band, because if
matt was playing with someone else, I'm not sure that chris would have
been able to bring this song to the studio (unless it became a far
inferior version, mind you).

something else that grabbed me while listening to it was kim's
guitar work. he does some very cool stuff, but my favourite part is at
about 1:06 through the song. the (semi-) lead break warms up, and kim
has put two guitar tracks on (or maybe chris is playing one of them, even
though he didn't seem to play his guitar much in the bmf era). anyway,
my point is that his guitar tone in the left speaker sounds really cool.
the song sounds a lot different if you play around with the balance, and
