That's off the EP "SOMMS", which comes as a double CD set with
Badmotorfinger. This was released in 1992, limited to 100,000 copies (I
believe).

I, actually, think that Sabbath is much more of a blues band than
Zep...listen to songs like the Wizard - talk about blues influence. And
also, before they were Black Sabbath they were Earth - a blues group. But I
see your point...they became more metal than Zep ever did. Also, they did
stuff that was so simple it was great. I mean, listen to Paranoid - Ozzy's
words match the riffs almost exactly. It's amazing.

Yep...the drop D tuning is amazing. For those of you in the dark, Tony had
an accident of some sort, cut off the tips of the fingers on his left
hand..which is the hand used for holding the strings. He de-tuned a
half-step so it was easier to hold the strings. That's the main reason their
riffs are so low and dark.

I'd have to say that it's either The Wizard or Sabbath Bloody Sabbath if
you're talking the old stuff....but things change drastically when they snag
Dio and Ozzy leaves. What do you think of the CURRENT Sab as well as the old
one?

"Soundgarden Digest, Sunday, 18 Feb 1995"

Anyone else see anything wrong with that?

I only had to compile 38 digests before I realized they were still
being dated 1995.

I need a vacation.

My apologies.

I just started listning to "hands all over" a couple of weeks ago. I know
I have had the album for about a year know but it takes that long to
assimilate a sg album. Especially since I bought bmf about the same time.
Anyway I thought it was obvious that it was about the enviroment. It just
goes to show that when people don't listen to music with an open mind the
just hear what the want to hear. Just to prove themselves right. Sounds
like it should be a verse in my wave.

The real spoonman's name is Artis, and he' s someone who sits on the
street and plays the spoons around here I guess. He was selling those cool
fork things at Bumbershoot ( a local music festival in Seattle) last year.

Yeah.. That accident happened the day they got their contract. He quit his job
at the factory, but still went in to work the last day, he got the tips of his
fingers caught in one of the machines and had to put false fingertips on to
play..

He was credited because during the filming for Singles, with that band
Citizen Dick and all.. well, Jeff Ament designed the fake Citizen Dick
tape cover I guess, and he put some fictional song titles on the cover,
and Spoonman was one of them.

I have a couple of questions for any interested parties;

Are there any guitartists out there in possesion of the acoustic version
of 'Like Suicude'? If so, who wants to collaborate on a Tab of it. I
think that this tune is a great aid to any guitarist wishing to examine
the way Chris and Kim's styles compliment each other. However, I dont
have a 12-string which I think is used, but that shouldn't be too much
of a problem.

Don't you think that if Soundgarden come to the UK on tour, they should
definately play a reasonable amount of dates - spread the word, so to
speak.
But on the other hand, if they (the people) haven't caught on yet, then
maybe it's for the best;-)

Peace to all.
