I'm sure there are no corporations which have a hand at choosing the
order of soundgarden's songs. (or any other band I listen to). I
believe I've heard Chris say they play a big part in that. They even got
in there for the making of AITS.

I went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame over x-mas break. I remember
reading Rolling Stone or something a while back that said there was a
picture of Chris Cornell when he was 6 there. So guess what I went to
first?..the "Seattle Sound" display.
Chris Cornell was so funny/cute looking. It was one of those pictures
where they handcolor the cheeks red and stuff...wild.
They also had a bunch of posters from early shows where SG opened f or
Soul Asylum (!). And the guitar he used in the Loud Love video (it had
the same sticker on it that I have on my car! I felt special. Wow.)
They also had a lot of Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam stuff. On all
of the little cards that described all of the items in the display said
"Courtesy of Susan Silver Archives" or something...so she gave Chris's
baby pictures to a museum.!
	Sorry for this tangent.

Seth,

The Microsoft Sampler includes portions of the Soundgarden multimedia title
from nu_millenia entitled "Alive in the Superunknown". There is one full CD
track from SG on the Sampler, "Fell on Back Days". There is a multimedia
segment on the band, again this is taken from the nu_millenia title.

The enhanced CD by nu_millenia was released in late 1995, and you should be
able to find it at most CD stores.

Hello, could you tell me how Soundgarden is involved in
the MS Sampler? Are there audio tracks by this band, and
if so, which ones are they? Is there a multimedia section
devoted to Soundgarden as well?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was thinking more guitars (electric) and more brass. Like
Soundgarden's hard stuff with brass. LOTS of brass, not just one

lot of trumpets and french horns.

Hey List!

head over to http://www.justicerecords.com/twisted.html (I hope I copied the
URL correctly) and check out the Twisted Willie web site. It's got song
bio's, audio clips (Kim's guitar riff is pretty cool on the song "time of
the preacher"), and details about a benefit concert in Feb. that may? (I
dont know) include Mr. Thayil. The only bad part of the site is....It
doesnt include a link to Seth's site. But, has a link to the official (and
the word 'official' is emphasized) SG web site located not at
rocktropolis.com but at imusic.com

Speaking of Web Sites, mine has undergone YET another facelift. The 2 or 3
of you that actually comment on it....take a look please. I'm working on a
real imagemap, not the fake one that's there.

I'm looking for detailed set lists for the following: (artist and track).

SUB POP Rock City - compilation on Germany's Glitterhouse label.
Program Annihilator Vol. 2
Lost Angels - Soundtrack
Fuck Me I'm Rich
Pave the Earth
Kerrang! - The album
True Romance - Soundtrack
Get Your Rocks Off
Maxi Music
Home Alive

I'm still looking for info on the bootleg _After the Rain_ - set lists for
the SG boot video's. I may set up a video tree with certain people. email
me if your interested. And missing DAT or tape masters from the non-CD
bootleg archive.

For those of you that want to see the SG video "Flower". I say we all email
bomb (for lack of a better term) MTV's 120 Minute mailbox. They have an
email address which I dont know. Someone post it...then we will start our
campaign of terror until they play the video.

More Great SG finds:
<new> TDITTL CD-single $4.99
<new> Flower CD-single $4.79

I've had the Flower single on tape forever...but since Record Theatre was
trying to get rid of em cheap...I couldnt pass either one up. If anyone
sees a CD-single with Beyond the Wheel (live) or FoBD (live) for under 10
bucks, tell me.

I don't want to bring back the pearljam/soundgarden debate again, but I was
thinking about this while listening to TOD. I really like pearl jam, but I
like soundgarden a lot more. Though the reasons for this vary, one that
leaps to mind is that Chris's voice appeals to me a lot more. The best
example of this is in "Hunger Strike" in (I think) the 3rd verse, Eddie
sings "I don't mind stealin' bread" and Chris just breaks in with "NOOO I
don't mind stealin' bread." It's in that very moment where Chris vocally
thrashes Eddie's ass. It's cool of Eddie not to have minded that (assuming
he didn't).

What makes you think the corporation has _anything_ to do with the order of
the tracks? In soundgarden's case, at least, the band and the producer
decide in what order the tracks run.
There's nothing wrong with listening to your favorite tracks. YOu don't
always have time to listen to the entire album. But the way the album is
set up is in a definite order to create a mood or feeling. When I hear a
song on the radio, say, Black Hole Sun (what a surprise), as soon as it's
over, I start singing spoonman. Of course, if Hootie and the Blowfish or
something else comes on (as it invariably does), then I go listen to
superunknown in its entirety. It's just being able to appreciate all of
what the band puts out. I'm hard-put to think of a soundgarden song that
isn't aurally pleasing in some respect.

Ok, does anybody know where Lolla usually stops? Is it at the same
locations every year? Was it in Minnesota last year? If it stops in
Minnesota, and Soundgarden is on it, will anybody on the list be headed
that way? I, for one, will be there. We should make it a pilgrimage.
We could meet and have some kind of ritualistic, ceremonial,
Soundgarden-praising, devil worshipping, Jesus-defending, "every word I
said is what I mean", "feeling Minnesota", "sitting here like uninvited
company, wallowing in my own obscenities...", "all my friends are
skeletons", type therapy group.

I actually had a long discussion with my friends one time and we came to
the conclusion that the most typical track on which to have a hit single
was #7. We had a fairly varied selection to choose from, but in a small
group you don't really get a huge sample.
As far as order being important, I'm a big Pink Floyd fan as well. On
their albums, order is just as important as the music itself. Take 'The
Wall,' for example. It would not be the magnum Opus it is were the order
of the songs drastically changed. The order is somewhat changed in the
movie, but the sequence of feelings is consistent.

Indeed, it's been mirrored there since the beginning. Imusic is
responsible for the site, even though it's stored at Rocktropolis,
too. It's possible that there is only one copy of the site, and that
there's nothing more at Imusic than a http redirect. This could be
easily determined with a network packet sniffer, but I don't have one.

remember when i said that i wasn't going to keep posting whenever i
added stuff to the website (http://www.sgi.net/soundgarden)? i lied.

i'm only posting because the addition was rather large: 31 (yes,
thirty-one) new images. chris mackenzie and i had fun with scanners
this weekend, it seems.

lots of good stuff, including some concert shots that deb of anthropic
images (and syzygy, http://www.sgi.net/syzygy) took and lots of
soundgarden rarities.
